Hey! I just got the app and I love messing around with it a lot! That said, I do feel like it's missing one very crucial feature to ne, and that is loop points for samples. I'd love to be able to turn any sound into a synth instead of trying to rely on the delay to make a sound "longer"... I think that along with start and end points for samples, there should be loop start and loop end points. There should be a toggle to make it so the sample loops even after letting go of a pad, or if it continues past the loop end point on release, and the looping should not affect the way the envelope works. There could also be automation for it along with automation of start and end points. With this feature I definitely think Flip will be one of the best music making apps period, so please consider it! It could make for endless possibilities and I feel like it is an essential part of any sample!
i have to say, i didnt expect too much but the interface and functions make so much more sense than most of these pad sampler vsts that get released. leave it to a musician/youtuber to make a proper sampling app. (ps we still have no replacement for geist, so :>)
Honestly yeah, it's looking like it's become a pretty robust app with a really nice workflow. I usually use Caustic, which is fantastic, but its workflow kinda leads me in a similar direction a lot of the time (probably says more about me than about Caustic though, to be fair). Too bad this isn't available on Android though :/
This was dope. I’ve been loving Ableton Note. But I’ve still been looking for a good way to chop samples. Automating the start time might be that fix. Gonna play around with that tonight.
Please more videos with flip! When I heard about the app first time, about a year ago, I thought like come on, what on earth can you do with only nine sounds? And downloaded the koala sampler instead. Don’t get me wrong, I love koala a lot, but now I realise that sometimes such restrictions as nine sounds maximum is not bad but something that moves forward your creativity. So, I downloaded flip a few days ago and now look at it at the different angle, I like it. Aaaand I’ve got a couple requests: in my opinion overdrive or distortion is better than bitcrusher as one of the fxs. And I wonder, why some interface elements have so sharp edges? I mean they got no smoothing and edges look like pixel saw. It’s not so important but kinda nasty. And the last wish (actual for koala too!) - in my opinion piano roll is not the most comfy thing on the smartphone. I like sequencing interface on the PO-32 - 16 steps with ability to “split” some steps into several
I’m so frustrated with your app: I cannot choose different audio input sources, just mic. I need to be able to bounce a few tracks into one, this number of tracks is ridiculous even for a “sketch”. It needs to be able to record internally whatever the iPad is playing (multi app). Pity because otherwise it has quick access interface and nice morphing fx environment.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to quickly implement the best of these Flip working methods in Ableton Live's built-in tools? Because these are all great techniques for getting inspiration FAST, and just start the music making instead of getting bogged down by too many options/details.
Yoo Im sad about the sample chopping on here I don’t quite understand how to duplicate a loop from one pad to another even. But I really wish there was a simple chopping feature of any kind, like the newer mpc’s style or even something like koala would be nice. If it is possible a dedicated tutorial would be appreciated as well 🫡❤️

@@ddtriadi4688 mine's a galaxy s9, and so far it seems to be working fine. Not that I'm any good with it, lol. Turns out if you have zero musical talent, even the best app in the world can't really help you.
Hey andrew thanks for the app besides the noise gate can you add noise reduction to the app please so when we record we get clear sound at least something automic noise reduction.
Would you happen to be taking any interns in the product development department? If so I’d love to interview or sign up. Really think this app could be ground breaking even more than what it already is
Your sales would double if the app had a simple update of allowing more than 9 tracks. Easy Win . You coul honestly jump to the very with that….auv3 support and time stretch or autochop . Easy win
You can find these functions in koala sampler. But, as I wrote here earlier, limitations of Andrew’s app might help you not to mess around with tons of different samples but to concentrate on what you can do with only nine sounds. Paradoxically lack of functions can make you more productive. So, I think, there’s no need in such updates. But talking about updates, I’d prefer to replace bitcrusher with some drive effect. And make icons’ edges more soft. And (maybe) add PO-like 16 step sequencer since I don’t find classic piano roll convenient on the smartphone
I don't mind the track limitation as much as I do the lack of looping on samples, I feel like its a big missed opportunity for such an accessible on-the-go sampler and I hope it gets added soon...
@@magnificus23 I agree about the piano roll, though i do see its use-case. Maybe it'd be cool if you could swap between piano roll or sequencer mode? the live recording does make it way less of a hassle though
@@zaxolotl nice idea! But idk if Andrew would like to do it. And what is more important - the app feels a bit raw, I’ve found a lot of bugs which makes me love the app less

I do have a question though; can you import beats made on Flip into Ableton?
I bought the app a while ago, but I suck so hard at it. I'm also a beginner, so that is probably the main reason :D

that sample app looks actually good, you should bring this out as vst too (or clap and save licensing 👍)
Well done but why no timestretch and sample chop options for starters?.
Wow man, that’s amazing. Thanks for sharing the knowledge
He invented it
Great talent!
Ableton Link integration would be a super hero feature!
