Here’s a tip. If you play to collect as many perks as possible, recruit Piper as a companion first. After you get her companion perk, you get double XP from speech checks and discovering new locations
Re: Ammo scarcity. Solution = Scrounger. It's available with Luck 2, and it's usually my first perk, every run. It gets supppppppppppppppper powerful at later ranks, like... with Scrounger 3 you end up getting 3-4 ammo types in every ammo box and on most NPCs. Another big tip (or at least, it's something I do) - you don't have to necessarily use perk points immediately. There's certain perks that become available at certain levels, and if you want multiple of those perks, saving up perk points to that level isn't a bad thing. If you're a content creator - Nuka World's radio is copyright free, so feel free to play it on your videos/streams. Redeye is fucking hilarious.
While this update is sort of meaningless to me, all the coverage of Fallout, between this update and the series, got me interested in going back and replaying the full game. I played the game to death, back in the day, but haven’t touched it in years. Does anyone have any suggestions for someone replaying the game after being a2ay for years? I had planned on just going vanilla, but then I remembered how most bugs are fixed, not by the devs being paid at Bethesda, but instead by modders who know Bethesda can’t be bothered to do it. So, now I’ve got to see what suggested mods are still working
My method to prevent theft: In crafting mode make a footlocker or any container. Set it down somewhere away from any and all objects or items. Place a vertical wood post or a concrete pillar next to the container. Hold down the item select input to "select all" & sink your container into the ground. Find the top of the post or piller that you used to sink it & "select all" to pull it back up. It's the only method I know that's 100% npc proof. I've thought about trying to sink an entire house to keep them out, but never tried it.
My *_TOP TIPS_* (especially _Survival Mode_ )---> --> _Codsworth_ is available as a companion without first needing to free *Preston* . Simply enter *Concord* far enough that *Preston* and the Raiders start fighting, return to Sanctuary, and he can be hired. Taking him along to free *Preston* can give some affinity boosts. _Codsworth_ will give you a Purified Water on a continual basis just by talking with him, making him a solid companion for _Survival Players_ . --> _Need Caps?_ Stop at nearby *Abernathy Farm* , under the Power Pylon. Grab the 9 Melons, then speak with the daughter _Lucy_ . Keep picking the top dialogue choice about caps as currency. This will trigger an Easy speech check, and she will offer to buy Melons for 5 caps instead of 3. She can buy every Melon you have, on an ongoing basis, which can be lucrative if you turn Sanctuary into a Melon farm. However, if you make the Farm a settlement, she stops buying them. --> _Survival Players_ , besides planting *Tato* , *Mutfruit* and *Corn* for _Adhesive_ , plant *Razorgrain* . Cook *1 Razorgrain /1 Dirty Water* to make rad-free _Noodle Cups_ . They lower thirst one level, and hunger half a level. Check wandering vendor _Trashcan Carla_ and _Trudy at Drumlin Diner_ , South of Concord. Or find randomly as loot. --> *Weapon and Armor modifications* can be stripped and swapped onto your better gear. You can remove armor mods for free, but you will have to build a new mod for guns from components. Even without Gun Nut, you can build the base level mod, which will put the previously attached modification into your inventory, to put onto whatever. --> _Survival Players_ should build *15 more water supply than they have settlers* , minimum. Take out the water from the Workshop *every day* , and store it separately in another container. New Purified Water will be added every day *_if_* there’s little to no water already in the workshop. If you build a large enough water purification operation, a huge amount can get added daily. Use this for your travels, or stockpile, and sell the surplus. --> _Survival Mode_ features *Diseases* , acquired numerous ways. You can take *Antibiotics* , visit a *Doctor* , or *wait* until they go away eventually. Each disease has _different durations_ , lasting from *2-7 days* . The most debilitating are _Weakness_ (receive +20% damage), and _Infection_ (take damage over time, though it won’t kill you, will leave you with a sliver of health). These two diseases take *2.5 days* to go away. Find something safe to do, like decorating Sanctuary, or sleep it off. Sleeping causes a _disease check_ , so you might get sick again, but anything is better than Weakness or Infection. *Early game* , when resources are tight, you might be better off saving Antibiotics just in case for the debilitating diseases, and living with the others until they go away. -->Want to play _Survival Mode_ , but aren’t sure what starting SPECIAL to use? I’ve found the first 10-12 levels to be the hardest, and it’s worth going for strong combat skills first, at the expense of other areas. *Melee Builds* , get _Rooted_ (STR9) and _Blitz_ (AGI9) immediately. *9,1,4,3,1,9,1* _(Book END)_ . *VATS Guns* get _Penetrator_ (PER9) and _Concentrated Fire_ (PER10). *1,9,3,3,3,7,2* _(Book AGI)_ . You’ll get the *Perception Bobblehead* when you free Preston, so have a point saved, and put into Concentrated Fire mid-rescue. --> _Survival Mode_ players should seriously consider not using Power Armor. _Swimming_ is Survival’s Fast Travel. You’ll get around much faster and safer. _Aquaboy/girl_ perk will save you a ton of time. Without spoiling, the game gives you a quick means of crossing the map as you do the main story, if you dabble with the *Brotherhood of Steel* . --> _New Players_ : *Idiot Savant* isn’t a good choice for first timers. Enemies scale with you. You need to have good gear to survive, and easy and fast XP can leave you without enough time to explore and find good gear before the bad guys start hitting even harder. *You’ll get plenty of levels, faster than you think, even at 1 INT* . Growing powerful isn’t only a matter of levels. Having 1 INT will give you plenty of time to find what you need to survive. You’ll be stronger if you have great gear when you pop your next level. Take it easy, don’t rush, go slow, and you’ll be better for it. --> _Pass every speech check_ with *11 CHR* , 100%! Low CHR builds, don’t fret: assemble a 3-piece _CHR set of clothes_ . *Hat/glasses/suit* , for _+4_ . Most *Alcohol* adds _+1_ . Find *Daytripper* _+3_ . Better yet, craft *Grape Mentats* at a Chemistry Station _+5_ . There’s other ways, but with these, that’s a +13 buff already. *Bonus!* Your companion will come to your side and stay there if you crouch.
P.S. At least on PlayStation, the game won’t let you scrap Legendaries. Still, I rename all my important gear. (Ignore the parenthesis; if i didn’t use them in the comment, RUclips italicizes the letters inbetween). Melee are (_1_ ) and Guns are (_2_). Armor pieces are (_/LA_) (_/RA_) (_Ch_) (_LL_) (_RL_). Once you unlock Ballistic Weave, you’ll be able to rename clothes. I put them into categories using _’ or _” or _*.
The prefixing on gear names is very good. I do the same thing in FO76; however I don't use X_... this isn't to say he's wrong, whatever works for you, but my wife and I use !, @, and # to prefix things, ! for "I use this often", @ for "To trade" (obviously doesn't apply to FO4), and # for "To display" (again, this one is more for 76). The advantage of using punctuation instead of a letter and underscore, is the game reads punctuation before letters, so, say "!AAE LMG" will appear before "AA 10MM", so your most used gear, stuff you have on display that you don't want to sell, and things you picked up to trade to another player, will always be at the top of your list, so when you go to scrip or sell things, you can start from the bottom and work through the list quickly. Alternatively, what he recommends is actually perfect if you spend more time in vendor Sell menus, in which case prefixing your good stuff as X_ and Z_ will send all of your good stuff to the bottom of the list so your sell/scrip items go to the top.
It's a lesson I learned the HARD way... when fuckin' trashcan Carla took off in my damn SUPER SUIT! 😅 (and while she's friendly, she's not a settler, so you can't just ASK her to GTFO of it! I had to pickpocket the core lol!)
Oh wow I envy you. Your first fallout game is always going to be special. I've got tons of hours in 4 and can't wait to go back! My personal favorite game series of all time
These are actually insanely useful tips bro. I played the game once and game back recently like most people after watching the show. I didn’t know most of this expert the companion ammo thing at the end. The buddy perk is one I wish I’d had known for sure and I’ll have to grab it later and go back for dogmeat after I finish helping Preston.
LOL, your character name is Lord Vader, I love it. Really looking forward to the update tomorrow. Thanks for the tip about Dog Meat. My lone wanderer character will keep him from now on.
I never got around to playing Fallout 4 because I just didn’t feel the interest but the TV show has completely changed that. I’m so excited my first play through is going to be with the next gen update
Havent played fallout 4 in a while (a couple of years at least) completely forgot that power armor could be used by npcs and my settlement got raided and the raider jumped in it, i had to take him down and only got 2 pieces of my power armor back lol
no trader, no raider and no other wasteland freak will ever take my Power amor again i had a brutal lesson when some a...hole has stolen my x01! im still looking 4 him somewhere out there!
Here is a good tip you may not have thought of. HOARD TOOLS!!!! at some point you will cross a dude somewhere who will buy the. Off you. And, if you hoard tools, stowing them away in a separate co tainer fro. The workbench, it eventually builds up. Some rins i have earned a few thousand caps from hoarded tools.
I deleted all my Mods and save files. And started a New toon. S.3 P.4 E.5 C.6 I.6 A.2 L.2 ( use special book on Agility for A.3 ) is the most useful Special staring with no mods in my opinion. And cleared the town into the workbench. Saved and waiting for the update...
I either scrapped or sold spray n pray. pretty sure I scrapped it cause been around all vendors I can think of and none have it. hoping cricket gets it back in her inventory.
I'm about 100hrs into a new playthrough, first full run on steam. really hoping the new update don't kill my run. just found out I might have been performing a glitch and never knew about it. apparently dropping weapons and armour in a settlement and scrapping them through settlement screen screws with the settlement size figure. can anyone confirm. some are saying it can corrupt saves if done too much. been doing it this way since xbone and can't remember any specific problems in the past.
I've been playing starfilled for too long so i'm used to that interface 😂 Can't wait and remember what this is like long time no play And Im more than a loot gobbling than you Because everything is shared Between me and my NPC Because I love to 🚜 Everything 20x And I play on survival Wouldn't be fun otherwise
Been re-playing FO4 on my ps5 with few mods. Really enjoying. Own on steam too. Just never finished it at the time. And at time it ran bad on my old GTX 670ft at the time. Had bad frame pacing issues. So end up giving up. Though at time FO3 ran butter smooth on steam for me. Don’t have space atm on my pc. So just been playing on ps5 for now. Anywho been replaying on ps5. Been trying to find mod for ps4 version FO4 that will let me have two companions, like for example. Would like keep Piper and have Dogmeat at same time. Anybody know if there mod like that for for ps4 version FO4, at least till we get upgrade sometime new few days. Thanks I put the * at begging of named any importance armour or guns. Very handy
Why would there be? you know the INTERNATIONAL DATE LINE is a thing right? and when Bethesda said the 25th they mean the 25th IN THE USA... where they are.

I've always left mine in a crafting station and I've never had my armor(s) stolen.
Companion took off with mine.....took me alot longer than I'd like to admit to figure out the command to get him out of it. Take care all!
looking forward to finally play fallout 4, apocalyptic wasteland world always intrigued me
Oh wow I envy you. Your first fallout game is always going to be special. I've got tons of hours in 4 and can't wait to go back! My personal favorite game series of all time
It's crazy but I just found out if you call yourself Mr. Anderson that Codsworth will actually call you by name 😂
Yes there’s a few other names as well, like Indiana jones and Marty mcfly lol there’s more I just cannot think of them sllb
Appreciate you helping us newbies

That tip of the fusion core on the power armor is extremely underated hahaa
Awesome video Man keep it up 👍🏻
You're going to need Adhesive for crafting, Vegetable Starch can be made at a cooking station with just some vegetables.
Dont forget craft JET is 50 caps and only takes fertilizer and plastic, easy money.
Tomorrow is now, and I'm hyped 😍 When this hits my console I'm gonna do another playthrough 😊😊

Good video 👍
That fucking left-handed bolt on the hunting rifle is still such an eyesore 😭
Ya, I might have to say goodbye to Headshot Nora and the build I made around a pistol mod off Nexus.
I either scrapped or sold spray n pray. pretty sure I scrapped it cause been around all vendors I can think of and none have it. hoping cricket gets it back in her inventory.
As Todd likes to say, "don't worry, the modders will fix it"!
Hello, have any new interesting perks been added to Fallout 4 next gen?
I'm about 100hrs into a new playthrough, first full run on steam. really hoping the new update don't kill my run.
just found out I might have been performing a glitch and never knew about it. apparently dropping weapons and armour in a settlement and scrapping them through settlement screen screws with the settlement size figure. can anyone confirm. some are saying it can corrupt saves if done too much.
been doing it this way since xbone and can't remember any specific problems in the past.
Good video
I hope it doesn't break everyone's heart. My heart is on the line for sure. More especially being a 30yr vet of gaming.
Do you think it’ll release at 12 at night or maybe later in the day ?
Most likely later in the day
so if i store the power core in bench they can still use the power armor
Do anyone know at what time it will realease? I thought it was 03am U.S western time, but apperantly not
Scrap everythjng in sanctuary and build shelves until lvl 10 then start the gane
I lost a suit of power armor in Sanctuary --- no idea where it ended up
I just hope it fixes the series s crashing especially in downtown boston
Mine is currently updating now... Uk here
Is the update out?? Is it gonna say ps4/ps5?? Or is it just an update ??
you should make a character build for new players
ruclips.net/video/hQkDywuios0/видео.html
Hopefully they actually fix the purple texture bug on the dlc maps 🤣 well over it
Is the next gen update out in the uk yet?
No
They have to wait for US time so Friday for UK
Just started a new playthrough in lieu of the new graphic update *life sink engaged* with a ghoul look alike Mr Gabba Ghoul cheers 🎉

Thank you!!! Love you!?!
I have the disc on ps4 but im online with psn. Will i get the update?
I think its only for next gen consoles like xbox series and ps5
Yes
@@maryoncobretti2344you're right but I think last gen is getting bug fixes. Don't quote me on that though.
PS4 and Xbox One only gets perfomance and bugfixes, no extra content and resolution changes.
New Zealand 🇳🇿 gang!
It's just dropped on ps5 😊
No more purple textures
Didnt they say the 25 on ps5? Its not out yet

Download update and still broken hahahah, weapon debris turn off if you want to play
