- Fallout 4 just received its free next gen update for PC, Xbox Series S/X, and Playstation 5. And unfortunately... it hasn't been a smooth launch. From ownership issues on Playstation, to missing meshes on Xbox, to one of the quests not triggering. Today we take a look at everything that was added, bugs and all.

I feel like the male Sole Survivor with witnessing the Enclave, and seeing the flag and all the American phrases and whatnot would out of curiosity try to make contact with them before destroying them as he was in the US Army prior to the bombs falling. I feel he’d be a bit confused/conflicted in killing what he would think is American soldiers.
Once I came out that vault into that landscape and world 200 years Into the future all prior allegiances are void
They didn't put that much thought into it.
Give America Rising 2 a look. Basically that made it into a fully fledged dlc-level mod
I find it extremely funny that the 2/3 of the update is just broken right away
At this point- it'd be weird if they didn't. It's tradition. Major overhaul/update, add a new batch of microtransactions, everything is chaotic or dysfunctional, and the inevitable hotfix that screws things up worse to fix something else.
Someone finds a weird workaround, the community adopts it, and Bethesda hides until the complaints die down.
Just like Todd intended.

@@greatsageequaltoheaven8115 The Enclave are the remnants of the most powerful country in the world and still operate a somewhat government. Even after the bombs fallen they continue to develop technology and are the only faction that have a plan and the ability to bring some resemblance of the old world back. Bethesda just keep using them as cookie cutter bad guys that get railed to inflate the ability of the Brotherhood of Steel.

Okay, that last one I was just poking fun - but seriously. People act like the Brotherhood or Enclave are the worst when they're no worse than the NCR. Just the NCR and it's ineptitude is the status quo people from the West Coast of the US are ironically used to... and of course, they're the loudest because they're from the " I went there to be famous " states that attract narcissists that go " ME ME ME. IT'S ALL ABOUT ME. "
One thing I wish Bethesda could've added with this dlc, is that these new quests were activated when you reached a certain XP level. Like how Automatron starts at level 15. These new quests start immediately at level 1.
I'm currently trying a playthrough where I complete every quest I'm given before starting a new quest. (it's harder than you think). I was already level 4 trying to take on Gunners Plaza (and failing terribly!). This is going to add a whole bunch more high level quests to my 'to do' list. Sean's never getting saved in this one.

The makeshift weapons is completely broken for me the weapons are invisible and if you shoot one it just shoots a big exclamation mark
do you think this halloween pack was planned for last october but they decided to just throw it into this next gen pack, for the sake of making it look like more content was added to it?
When the bombs dropped in game it was October 23, 2077 so it makes sense that you’d find Halloween decorations after the bombs fell
no, because that requires me to believe they had previously planned to drop some updates, when this game hadn't seen any new content for a decade outside of creation club.
Bethesda had to postpone all of their Creation Club releases for fallout 4 indefinitely Because a few years ago a guy tried to sue because he thought the creation club should be included with the Season pass. The halloween pack was probably affected by this, and there’s still a lot of content for the Fallout 4 creation club that hasn’t been released
@@alecpiper4102 Not just that but the GOTY edition also nullified any need for the season pass, tbh Bethesda is in the wrong here and I would love to see that lawsuit just not go their way.

None of the armor, weapons or quests are better than the mods i have installed and are now broken.
rolling back mine now via steam console. Not worth updating one bit the ultrawide support doesnt even work on PC atm. It's exactly the same as pre-update stretched and not properly scaled. That was only thing worth looking for me as I play PC what a waste of a year waiting for this new update.
Modded weapons and armor are going to be better hands down. Also I would have started a new game unmodded for a new update like this. Till it's in a stable state and modders have a chance to update their mods.

Fr dude it ruined all the damm mods on my save I had to clear all my saves to even play the game without it crashing in the menu 🫠

Hey there, fallout enthusiast and local psychopath came here to announce that if you kill suggs or whatever his name is before giving him the blueprints you get a different unique weapon off his body with some interesting upgrades. I hope this adds some spice to your playthrough!
I gave him the blueprint and accidentally shot him square in the face with my grenade launcher.. free saw launcher for me??
i found this out after unknowingly shooting a piggy bank at some of the gaurds infront of his shop, it is a second option fs but the ammo it takes has yet to be added/found anywhere

*Issues on Xbox:*
* Mod page is broken, and displays 0 B of available storage, and goes into the negatives if you install any mod. Also some mods just send you back to the main menu if you simply try and view their descriptions.
* Makeshift weapons creation club content entirely lack models. (Also in the plaza interior cell, a ceiling is missing collisions, you can jump through it.)
* Tesla Cannon still doesn't have reloading animations
* New Halloween TV helmet's screen display doesn't work with weather mods (Tested with NAC X Lite)
* Free Creation Club Content is automatically installed, you cannot refuse to install it, and cannot uninstall it.

Thank god I remembered to turn updates off on steam for Fallout. Bethesda always creates more bugs with each update >.>

So for the echoes of the past stuff you can do it out of order. My game gave me All the missions right away. I did pyro and then they jumped me on my next fast travel. Cool thing is they planed for it since they have orders to kill you saying because you have whatever gear you took. It also puts you on track to the starting location.
Also you don’t have to do the side ones. If you do the main echo quest you will get all the items just no legendary versions
All I want is to be able to call down artilery without needing to be within grenade-throwing distance :(
Pretty sure they have a mod for that where you can call in artillery strikes with binoculars
If you have a settlement without a Weapons store in it already add one and it will give you more 40mm frag ammo... I have tested this on a few settlements and the ones that aready had Weapons stores didn't have any updated ammo... I even deleted the store and added it back and it kept what it already had in inventory... Hope this helps everyone...
Wow I just played for the first time, didn't even realise the enclave were part of the new update. Kinda weird the Tesla Cannon and Enclave weren't in the game originally.
They're not supposed to be. Fallout 4 takes place 10 years after the Enclave was defeated.
We also got some next gen bugs like completely invisible saw blade launchers and nail guns that shoot bright red ! Markers. I didn't get that far but that's the bug I've encountered so far.
Can you please do a modded playthrough of this! I love your character driven stories within the stories. Loved both your modded playthroughs of skyrim and oblivion
My biggest problem is you can’t easily get the ammo for the new makeshift weapons
Yeah i only ever saw it solde by vendors and only the one for granade throwers and pigy bomb things not the other ammo types
What battle rifle is that? Or what mods are on it?
Everything on my PS4 worked fine with no problems. I took on the 7 quests in a different order than yours came in but they all connected very well no matter the order. Was really fun.

@@themudpit621 Basically, you will have to re load any of the DLCs you had. I had a couple of creation club mods and they were all still working.

Man this game almost 9 years old and there’s no option to fucking send companions back to their original homes it’s immersion breaking every time I go to diamond city and see pipers sister just there abandoned
bruh when u release them don't send them to a settlement and exit out of the option screen, damn you're dumb asf
You actually can send them to their original homes. All you have to do is when you dismiss them and it asks where to want to send them, you actually back out instead of choosing anything and it’ll send them to their original homes.
I always send them to their original place , but i think you dismiss them and cancel the command , but if you have sent them to one settlements before this it wont work i think
average fallout 4 complaint:
Doesn't break the immersion for me. Piper's the kind of self absorbed antagonizer that would do such a thing, and then pretend she's grandly 'doing it all for her little sister'. (I don't like Piper lol!) but yeah, just cancel out and they head back home.
How do i get ammo for these new dlc weapons. Cant find ammo anywhere, example the 40mm grenade

Go buy the ammo in Diamond city or far Harbor I've been able 2 buy all the Ammo needed for the make shift weapons
Greetings! Great video. However, I just wanted to inform you and your viewers/readers of a potential bug I encountered that really bummed me out. Here is a summary: I started "Echoes of the past" outside of Saugus Iron Works when 3 Enclave soldiers ambushed me and one of them was wearing the Hellfire Power Armor. After I dealt with them and completed "Crucible," I stored the armor in a safe at the castle.
When I restarted the game and continued "Echoes of the past," I noticed that all Enclave soldiers who were wearing power armor wore only X-01 power armor. Even when I loaded a previous save file and went back to Enclave locations, only X-01 armor models were present. When I went back to the castle, I looked in the safe where I stored the Hellfire power armor pieces and noticed that they transformed into X-01 power armor pieces. I thought I had misplaced the Hellfire armor pieces when I could not find them. However, I noticed that when I loaded an older save and restarted "Echoes of the past," even the Enclave soldier that wore the Hellfire armor the first time I went through the quest was wearing X-01 armor. That is when I made the connection between my "missing" Hellfire armor and a potential bug that transformed all Enclave power armor suits into X-01 models.
I hope somebody more sophisticated than I am can resolve this issue!
I got the same bugs while playing the make shift weapons pack, also the virtual workshop pack won't now download from the creation club, and the Charles town condo pack now crashes the game every time I try to enter the building maybe because it is where I was storing all my enclave gear like my tesla cannon from the enclave items packs.

It is Creation club but Bethesda made it free for all
Either they fixed the missing texture problem fast or it only affected some people. I was playing just a little bit ago and didn't have any problems with the makeshift weapons other than finding where to get or make ammo for the nailgun and launcher
Mine are invisible. I wish I knew a way to fix it
I've had problems on pc as well; couldn't download one of the updates and it boots me from Creation Club. Hopefully it gets fixed soon!
My loading went from 25 seconds to like 3 minutes after the update....
I downloaded it and instantly everything in my settlements or inventory that came from DLC (Legend of 88 Vault Suit, all my legendary Lever Actions, displays, Longfellow as my follower, all my 45-70 ammo, contraptions etc) was just gone.
All my progress into Vault 88 and Far Harbor was ereased.
Talk about one hell of a bug!

Game seems to run smoother than it did for me on xbox1 can't alter my mods but they work and the free shit was added... Makes it awkward shooting the enclave as a member of the enclave tho

Wait, so America Rising 2 on xbox still works? Do you have any other enclave power armors downloaded? I specifically made sure not to update Fallout 4 on my series x so I could continue to use my mods, so I'm currently waiting until everything gets fixed while I play offline.

So far, the very best part of this update is how fast save and load times are.
Oh I hadn’t even considered load times. I haven’t watched any videos of the update yet, so how quickly does the game load now from the main menu? I haven’t played in a couple years but it used to take a minute or so didnt it?

Never had issues with those on PC thanks to mods and a fast SSD. This update is a joke, at least for us PC users.

Wouldn't be until after F4SE is updated, but it's something I'd like to do later this year
Fugettabout mod lists until the modding community has caught up with the update. And expect a bunch of mods not being updated because their creators have moved on eons ago...

SAAAMEEE, i was going to virgil's cave and saw some yellow light in the distance, i wanted to save the enclave missions for later but uhh... killed them all anyway
I know everyone has their gripes about this update breaking mods and whatnot but I kinda saw it coming, if Skyrim SE’s updates wasn’t any indication. But does it mean the update is bad? No but there are clearly some bugs that need to be corrected.
My game’s Concord is now plagued with the Pipe Auto Pistol firing sound right outside of the Museum lol
The update itself is inconseqential. But if we compare the content in the update vs the content from mods that the update broke.. yeah the update sucks 😂

I wound up remaking my whole modlist because i deleted it before the update... then again i only use a very few SE mods so i think that might have had someone to do with my game not being too bad. Downtown is still a bit meh to traverse, but the good news is that it doesn't actually crash so i can deal.
Also im sensing one of the first new mods to come out is going to be a patch for the new weapons and munitions.

Is recomendable dont download skins for weapons and armor because this can conflict woth another modd of community?
Only enclave skins are the exception because they are part of the game now for this updated ?

Went to this video after being ambushed by the Enclave. Randomly stumbled upon Pyro while taking on a Paladin Brandis mission. Took the armor then went to the bunker. After completing the mission, Enclave soldier suddenly SPAWNED inside the bunker. Crazy.
I haven’t played it yet will this content disable achievements?

i had same issue with the hween. but u can still update quest just by going straight to the hotel but it fails the listen to radio part.

I need help with this. On PS5 with a Fallout 4 that's never been modded, I try to do transfer save. Only one (out of MULTIPLE) comes up, it's kinda crappy since that save is literally from the beginning of the game. I have no idea why the rest of my saves won't show and i could really use some help figuring this out.
I got the tesla canon from an enclave soldier in power armour on the roof from the end of the echoes of the pasts quest
I just made a new save on Xbox series x that I made to make a mix of new vegas and fallout four and these mods fit really well....and with the Halloween mod I made a tiny ritual room in sanctuary

I appreciate the free enclave content and etc, and I think the Halloween stuff makes sense because of the date the bombs drop. It's been 9 years since it's release and this is what they give us after 9 years. Imma just stick to 3, new Vegas and 76 rn
It's free. the 'this is what they give us?' attitude sounds pretty entitled for a free upgrade with added free content on a ten year old AAA game. It's true what they say, nobody hates fallout more than fallout fans...

I like that they added new power armor, because all I end up doing in fallout 4 is monotonously collect all the power armor and frames I come across.
The only gameplay change i got on series x is a bug where vats randomly flickers between 0 and 95%
Same here but I did do the x scap knuckles and mod the special book) glitch so I thought it was because it's trying to do all the stats that are 10 so maybe wait a bit before playing and it might be fixed after

@@flamefoxtrot6982yeah I did that glitch too and it does that also the game crashes a bit so I’m thinking my save is still in the glitched state because on the starting screen where you load your save and it shows your level it says undetermined

The update made me delete the DLCs like far harbor bc it said I can download the updated version and I can't what can I do?
These add ons have appeared on my PS4 and in doing so i have lost Far Harbor and Nuka World, how do i get them back?
I made backups of everything, the game, the inis, the mods. And backups of the backups… I was not gonna lose my mod list.

If you have Smiling Larry he has the Nail gun plus ammo for it... He also has the Chinese Frag weapon in his inventory... At least on mine he does...

No I haven't heard anything out of the controller. Would be cool if they used it for the pipboy radio atleast.
Unfortunately if you download the update but use the f4se your won’t be able to play the game with mods through your mod manager, will tell you to wait for the next script extender update

Where is the key to unlock to tool box. Note says in the tin cans but it is not there.

Yes. It still does the sudden freeze for a second (series s) but it just keep going and doesn't actually crash

So like, is it an intended design that I can’t modify or repair the new power armor? If I try to use a power armor station it tells me that I have no power armor pieces in my inventory.
I had to transfer my armor to the power armor for it work, I think it's a bug
@@pedrorojas0116 I mean, even if it’s on a frame and I have no other power armor pieces on me it still doesn’t register armor on a frame as being power armor. It’s insane how badly Bethesda botched this “update”.
Try starting a new save...if you transfered your saves they might have been the issue
Honestly being able to have enclave armor in fallout 4 now is just the best. Now i can rp as a enclave defector or enforcer
Does anybody know if there is a way to make CC content work after the downgrade? I know a similar mod for Skyrim which makes Anniversary Edition content compatible with downgraded game version to Special Edition. I’m not so keen on the CC content, but I liked having it incorporated into the world.
(Truth: I was dumb enough to buy a couple of creations, and now I’m mad they do not work anymore)
I don’t know if it’s a glitch or I’m just stupid but for the makeshift weapons pack I can’t find any of the required ammo for the new guns nor can I craft it also I don’t have access to the nail gun I don’t know if these problems have anything to do with Suggs being dead in my game after I finished the Monsignor plaza bit of the quest i immediately fast traveled back to Suggs store and he was already dead when I got there maybe the problem starts there or I’m just stupid/Bethesda bugs
i thought they would bump up graphics too... i thought this would be the update to release parallax ground graphics and make the game look and feel even more realistic

Just as context for anybody wondering why you can't join the Enclave. It's because literally all these quests are from the Creation Club, all of them. Bethesda had little no hand in making these, thus, no dialogue or named NPCs.
Anyone know what requirements i need to repair the new Halloween helmet (de-capitalist) I try to and it says requirements not meet but idk what I need?
