Let me start with I adore your CHANEL look on yourself! Great detail and informative video Scott Schiavone and love your graphics as well. Funny how in the 1960's Chanel didn't do her suits with pants since she wore them too, that would of given the brand at the time more modernity but she did not so oh well. Its too soon to say much about what Verginie Viard is doing for the brand but one cannot argue that she does have a point of view as a woman in the fashion arena, time will show as well as tell. Another amazing and informative episode. Some of Chanel’s choices and actions were clearly flawed, but there’s no denying the lasting legacy that the House of Chanel has on fashion to this day.
Great episode Scott! I always love it when you show me something I haven’t seen before, in this episode it was her evening gowns. They were spectacular and so fashion forward. I never really liked the over done fashion of Karl Lagerfeld, never thought it translated well into average persons life style. He diverted her original simplistic message into something fussy, overly adorned and far from the average women’s world which she originally proposed. The new head of Chanel appears much more attuned to her vision. Loved your nod to her with the outfit, just right! Still loving the longer hair too.👍👏👏👏
Thanks Jean! Yeah, the hair is growing on me too - quite literally! 😂 Chanel was an interesting character for good and bad reasons - good fashion, bad association as a Nazi Spy! But we cannot deny her influence on 20th century fashion. Glad you enjoyed and hope you’re staying safe!
