Do you mean since she was in her mid 20s or the mid 20s. She was born in 1908 and she had her broadway debut in 1929. Took a few more years to break into film. It always bothered me in Feud when Kathy Bates/Joan Blondell says " things didn't start to boil over until the 40s when they were in their forties. Joan turned 40 in 1944 and Bette in 1948. It would have made more sense to say approaching their forties. They just don't make them like Bette anymore. Meryl is the only thing close and she's 71. Hopefully she works until the very end like Ms. Davis.

I met Bette Davis on February 13th, 1988, on Hollywood Boulevard, as she autographed my book, This N That. I stood in line for two hours. I shook her hand, spoke with her briefly, and waited out front for her to exit the store. I was so close, I was leaning on her limo. I had to get out of her way in order for her to get in the car. Her eyes were HUGE, blue, and beautiful. Her handshake was strong and firm. I have pictures. It was wonderful. I remember it like yesterday.

Bette was so brave and courageous..A double masectomy, a stroke, a broken hip, and her daughter's slanderous book could not knock her out. I had forgotten all about that Oscar incident. But then I have now pretty much forgotten about the Oscars anyway.

Fun fact Bette loved when the song came out. "The young people know and love me again. " Plus she made a fair amount of money. How you ask? Well interest in her old movies skyrocketed after the song's debut in 1981. The early 80s is when the VCR went from something for the very wealthy to something middle class people could afford. She didn't have percentages on all her movies but certainly some of them. I know she did for All About Eve and Baby Jane and I'm sure there are others.

Gosh, my eyes welled up when she read the dedication to her assistant/co-author. Can you imagine, someone like Ms. D praising like so? I would die.

Bette Davis the very best Actress of all time. What a tremendous character. A sense of humor like no one else. what a shame her own daughter should write such a vicious book about this amazing lady. "My Mothers Keeper" indeed! I believe Bette gave her permission for her daughter to marry at the youthful age of 16 years old. She worked hard to help support both her daughter and son-law from the beginning. We should all be looked after in such way. No gratitude did she receive from her daughter. I guess her daughter didn't think her Mother would recover from her Masectomy and stroke and therefore wrote the devasting book about her Mother. Wrong!! Bette re covered to come back with her own book "This n' That. Bravo Bette. Joan Crawford couldn't defend herself as she had already passed when her. adopted daughter Christina wrote her vicious book. This is just too pathetic. Barbara Davis Hyman and Christina Crawford are ungrateful greedy women who got famous through their Mother's what kind of women behave in such a way? Hyman called her self a "Born again Christian" but the is nothing very Christian about her behaviour. RIP Bette. RIP Joan you served better treatment than these so called daughters gave you

You never know what goes on behind closed doors. Both Davis and Crawford were difficult women to work with. There are interviews of different producers, directors and others, who tell what it was like to work with these two.
