I never knew this game existed. However, I have one thing to say. This game defies the laws of Tetris! Pentaminoes are unacceptable unless you're playing Puyo Puyo Tetris. But Diminoes and Triminoes are just not cut out for Tetris. Furthermore, the pieces are not moving down block by block, but rather, pixel by pixel. Lastly, these pieces do not follow the Super Rotation System rules! Bullet Proof Software really needs to learn how to Tetris correctly.
The actual Tetris game on this cartridge was, IMHO, better than any on the NES or SNES. I never really played this part of the game, not a bad bonus though.
Bombliss is not Tetris, it's a different game although the basic premise is the same. This cartridge contains both Tetris (and a very good version at that) and Bombliss. Although you are right: the 5-block pieces are an abomination.
Tetris 2/Tetris Flash also had them, as did the criminally underrated Magical Challenge Tetris: Mickey's Story for the N64. Interestingly enough, it is the only Capcom, BPS, TTC, and Nintendo co-production and it also never left the N64.
