    My RUclips channel (where I was the most active between 2009-2014) was built on demonstrations of the Moogerfooger pedals. They were ahead of their time, but sorely misunderstood as a whole.
    Because the Moogerfoogers are pedals, the sentiment was that they were meant for guitarists. I received a LOT of complaints from guitarists about the $300+ price tag then. I tried to demonstrate how the multiple functions and interconnectivity justified that cost. Now no one bats an eye at a boutique delay or reverb at that price.
    I am glad Moog decided to preserve the legacy of the Moogerfooger line with this plug-in suite. They did a thorough and fantastic job replicating the nuances of each one. My hardware units will remain in my safekeeping, but going forward the plug-ins will find their way into every mix I work on.

      They tried to make them , at least the delay , all the way up to 2018 and all you would hear is that “they were too expensive”, or “you could get the same thing with cheaper pedals”. They are a company that needs to make money. They can’t keep making products that no one buys.

    Was lucky enough to have the foresight to scoop up a 104M back in 2015 when they announced the discontinuation. Then got the Ring Mod a year later. Using them with the 0 Cntrl is so much fun. I always wish I'd got the phaser so I welcome these plugins and can't wait to try them, they sound so authentic.

    Also, part of the appeal to me with the physical foogers, is the ability to patch them into my other gear. Its almost like Moog's semi modulars (DFAM, Sub, M32, Werkstatt, Mavis) were made to be integrated with these effects units.

    • @justingoers
      @justingoers Год назад

      Unfortunately all the semi modular stuff you mentioned operates at different voltage ranges. The foogers want +/- 2.5 volts and the other semi modular stuff wants +/- 5 volts and in some cases 10 volts. You can still connect them, but you need way to boost an attenuate a lot of the signals. I have most of the foogers and moog semi modular stuff. They definitely sound good together.

    Very good demo, I’m here because they just released for iOS or at least iPadOS, as I type far into the future, August 2023. ! The pronunciation question is generally answered by the appearance Robert Moog made on somebody’s album, where he declared his name, and pronounced it clearly as ‘Mogue’ ie rhymes with ‘rogue’. So it follows the moogerfooger is a moguer-foguer…BUT truly, how’s anyone expected to know that the first time they encounter a Moog product?! The absolute iconic example of this is what everyone calls ‘MACK-Donalds’, which when you look properly at the company name, it’s clearly ‘MICK-Donalds’. Yet, nobody goes around saying ‘hey it’s not Mac-D’s it’s Mick-D’s’. Well, ok, I do but only to annoy my family. Dictionaries even change things, depending on commonest usage, so the populace may yet win over the ‘correct’ pronunciation…none of which matters a darn because these are about music, and not words…oh hang on, how about singing vocals through them? See you, gotta go! I only work in iOS/iPadOS, so August 2023 will go down as a big month for Mogue or Moog or whomever. Take care all.

    Hey Mr mylarmelodies, I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts on the "tracker workflow" as opposed to the "modular workflow." The former means everything is easy to change deliberately, whereas the latter opens up CV all over the place. Trackers make it easy to make the change you have in mind while LFOs and step sequencers make it easy to generate motion all over the place. Happy accident vs surgery, nawmean?

    • @Gear4musicSynthsTech
      @Gear4musicSynthsTech  Год назад +2

      From Mylar: "There's room for all, surely? Especially one following the other. I find I like coming to a modular to explore freeform ideas with no preconceived notions, record the interesting bits, and then slice them up and let them form the spark of a track you then complete 'traditionally' in a DAW (or indeed, could make on a Tracker too)."
