Bingo! 😁
@@Nina_DP Ha!!
The 1995 mini series of Pride and Prejudice is by far my most favourite adaption of any book! I can watch it again and again!❤
I think I might need to start it this evening!
Ha! Hannah I will definitely take on the challenge and even add some more!
@@AnnNovella Fabulous!
What a fun mash-up! Great answers.
Thank you so much!
A Jane edition! Excellent! I agree about the 1995 Pride and Prejudice miniseries. It's one of my all time favorite book adaptations.
Yay, A! I really must rewatch the 1995 P&P this July!
@@HannahsBooks I think I will, too!
Hannah, this is such a wonderful version of Gavin’s tag! Well done! 🥰
Thanks, Pat! I had a lot of fun trying to think about possible answers!
@@HannahsBooks Definitely fun!
Thanks for the tag. I will try to answer with all French books…
Oh excellent! I suspect everyone has tagged you for this one!
"Persuasion" is my favorite Austen. I am currently reading "Emma" for Jane Austen July. I never read it before, or maybe I did as Portuguese translation a long time ago, as there was a copy on my uncle's shelves, but I don't remember. I am having some very good laughs. My favorite mini-series of Pride and Prejudice is the same as yours.
@@jorgem71962 I think Emma is my favorite, but it is partly for sentimental reasons. Persuasion would, I am pretty sure, be my favorite if I were to read them all fresh today!
Funny, I looked down the prompts and saw the yellow reference and thought of Jane Austen seeing Mrs Bingley in a portrait, I think that reference was in the introduction of my mother's copy of 'Pride and Prejudice.' then you mentioned it. I should definitely get two numbers towards Bingo!
Wow! That’s amazing! You definitely get two!
“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a middle-aged man in full Lycra suit, must be in want of a bike.”
Thanks for doing this tag, and for your glorious spin on it!
@@GenreBooks23 Ha!!
what? You efficiently combine a tag with two readathons?!! This is genius. I love that Jane Austen went to art exhibitions, looking for what would be appropriate portraits of her fictional characters. It shows how she had the same intense personal vision as she wrote that a reader brings to films of favourite books, with anguished cries of "But that's not how she is! she is this height, with this colour hair and eyes...." Regarding the BBC series - there is a programme on BBC still of Andrew Davies telling about how he wrote the adaptation and confessing that (like myself) if he comes upon the TV series airing, he will stop to watch "just one little scene" and find himself watching the whole episode.
@@heathergregg9975 Oh! I didn’t even think about acknowledging the art connection (and the upcoming reading event)! Perhaps we could put together a tag that would as ask readers to think about the relationship their favorite authors might have had to art, or something…?
@@HannahsBooks I hadn't thought of that either - was thinking of readathons Jane Austen and the Sport one.
I was late to Persuasion, too. I really love it, though. It is my third favorite Austen novel.
I too really love it! Actually, I love them all, and I tend to especially love the ones I’ve read most recently, so my ranking is never very steady…
Thank you for your amazing answers to this tag!!! I too began reading Austen with the same 3 novels: P&P, S&S and Emma. My favorite was Emma, until the 1995 P&P series came out. What fun it was to re-read it while watching the series......my favorite Austen became and still is, Pride and Prejudice. Do you ever re-read (or read for the first time) novels while watching a mini series?
Jane Austen July has gotten me to do rereads with miniseries - and as for non JA books, miniseries got me to read Forsyte Saga and Daniel Deronda!
@@HannahsBooks wow, Hannah, The Forsyte Saga was the first book I read with the series! In junior high school, 3 of us “read” the book and watched the series in the 60’s. In 2002 did the same thing and realized, I don’t think I really understood what was going on at 12 years old! 🤣😂. I believe there is a 3rd adaptation that has just started filming.☺️
@jodihowe7274 I don’t think I would have had any clue!
