I'm just watching this series now. I feel bad for Assad in a way. It seems like the teach does like to single him out. He is acting out which you can see on camera but then also other kids are doing stuff as well and they are not being called out for it either. It's not fair.

Jack, Aaron’s mentor, seems like such an amazing kid. Not many year 10s would go out of their way that much to try and make a year 7 feel included. He should be really proud of himself.

The head teacher fixes it all with hugs, love, patience & being sturn. In that order.. She just seem to have a 6th sense for when someone needs a hug & she isn't afraid of giving them out, and proper ones at that..
Just the perfect person for the job. She is really inspiring.

Assad is a clear representation of what the Year 7s think of themselves now, taking their mum for a joke??!!!!
If i swore to my mum I would of gotten whipped black and blue
No father figure or discipline, this is why he acts out. Thinks he can do what he wants. It starts from the home, the school try to be authoritarians but they can't if his Mom doesn't even have control of her own house. Kids aren't bought up in good homes and just decide to be naughty for no reason.
Mate I'm a year 7 I'm ashamed that this is a representation of year 7 kids

Aran is a little boy from a poor family. You can tell. I feel like his responses about what he asked for Christmas were things I had to tell my peers in school. I didn't ask for anything for Christmas, I just wait and see if I can get anything. All the other kids don't understand why he is saying, "I asked for nothing". Child poverty exists in the UK.

I really respect the head teacher for being patient and kind to even the naughtiest of kids and giving them a second chance. She comes from my home town, Southampton and I read in a news article that she didn't do well at school, became a teen mum and also grew up in one of the roughest parts of Southampton, so to turn this failing school around is great to see. Kids are lucky to have her as a head. I went to a private school in Swaything, Southampton and I even think she'd make a great head there too (This was 16 years ago though lol).

Aaron isnt shy at all, and is very sociable, and initiates quite alot with other kids his age, from what i noticed in this. I think he might just like hanging out alone, or maybe other kids have not made enough of an effort to hang around him.

@@sugondese5497 lmao the ice pack saves lives
Broke my foot on sports day...teachers thought I was just trying it on and made me walk round on it all day and walk up and down the track side to take the scores and house bands back and forth. Thought I was going to throw up from the pain and pass out, but trooped along. Mum picked me up and my foot was purple and swollen up over my shoe so she lobbed a big pack of frozen peas on it and drove me to the hospital. Teacher still refused to believe my foot was broken when I turned up to school the next day, despite being strapped up. Nasty teacher!
