I can't even express how excited I am to watch this - feels like I've been waiting for ages since series 1!!

I've just been watching this again on BBC3 and I still get the feeling that this whole prog has been very, very carefully planned out in advance by the production team to make sure that if one team gets a huge lead at a checkpoint they will make sure that team leaves at such a time they will encounter a huge delay in their on-going travel allowing other teams to catch up.
Does anyone know the score on the job lists that they have for the various countries? Is it something BBC researchers have put together or is it information that is available for travellers?

Loved this series and the contestants so much! The show did a great job at showing their development and personal reason for being there. I have loved immersing myself in it while my own plans have been cancelled. Just so sad that I have no idea when they'll be able to do another series. Maybe a race across one country like the U.S or Canada which is massive, once the vaccine situation is good? :(

I really can’t see their relationship lasting. She’s spent the whole series moaning at him - she complains that he doesn’t take the lead, she undermines him when he tries to make a decision. The bloke can’t win! Everything that doesn’t go their way is immediately his fault.
In every cutaway all she seems to talk about is how he changed after losing his hearing and how much of a strain it’s been on their marriage. I don’t know what he was like before the hearing loss, but now I see an intelligent, handsome guy with a good heart, who could do a hell of a lot better than her. If I was him I’d have left her in Mexico.

I have watched series two 3 times haha. And I’ve watched series 1 three times as well lmao. And don’t be mean about Jen. She is amazing, the camera doesn’t show the full story and you can’t judge her until you yourself are fully innocent. That last sentence was not necessary.

6. My parents went through a similar thing they did - before my dad got ill he was calm and my mum was more stressy. Then he got ill and his personality completely changed - there were two stessy ppl in the house. It really didn’t work but they battled through it because they loved each other. For many couples, that would break a relationship but not my parents and not Jen and rob.

Also, you don’t know anything about their life - all you see is what is shown in the programme. Many people are saying they love Sam and jo - I love them too! But Sam was also unreasonable with his mum. No one hurled hate at him. Yes, he has adhd and foetul alcohol syndrome but you don’t know what Jen has been through in her life. Please, just don’t judge her.
What's the point of having a set cash allowance when you can use possessions to pay for transport ? Emon and Jamiul giving the taxi driver a mp3 player may not have been against the rules but it was hardly in the spirit of the race. They were great guys, especially as they gave some of their winnings to charity but Jen and Rob should have been the winners.

Quite different. There are no imposed tasks to do and they're allowed to explore areas on their own free will. All of this with making sure that they have enough money for travelling, eating, etc. Also, it feels a lot more real and personal than the amazing race. I really like RATW, one the better showings on the BBC.

@@beckinbinderin Yeah but the later ones focused more on the "thrill" and challenges of it. Might as well do all of it in America. I did like the older seasons of TAR, but it then got too showbiz. My two cents.

I love the mother-son team & the two Northern lads, the latter i've labelled the silent assassins as you don't see them coming. The siblings quite clearly were family by birth not by choice, they have a non existent relationship and the sister was foolish to think an extremly stressful race in a foreign continent with limited funds, would magically fix what is permanently broken. The couple, well the guy is a proper sound bloke but his missus is horrible, deffo the kind of woman to have lots of one night stands (she said she was impulsive).

Jack 'The Lad' Stevens that’s a decent summary to be fair. I would have agreed with your thoughts on the brother and sister, but in the last few episodes you can clearly see how much they’ve bonded.
This series is full of decent people and I don’t really mind which couple win, apart from the fact I can’t STAND Jen. Overly negative, always blaming/criticising her husband. I don’t know why Rob puts up with her.

I would disagree with you about Dom and Lizzie - as the lady at the farm in the Costa Rican jungle said - they are friends and this race has proved that they are brother and sister (the fight sometimes) and that they are friends (the live and support each other)

You have only seen the parts of their life that they choose to put on the show. Stop trying to dictate Ron’s life. He loves Jen. You have only seen the Jen that is on camera. Most of the parts of Jen are ice and funny and kind - rob says himself that she is always caring for other people! I don’t think rob would say that if he wanted to divorce her. Just because you see some stressy parts of Jen doesn’t mean she is always like that - you are cutting the good parts out of ur head. We all have times when we are like the stressy parts of Jen so STOP JUDGING HER AND FIX YOURSELF FIRST YOUR SO DISGUSTING

I feel like they tried to hard in series 2 to recreate the dynamic of series 1
Good idea but bad execution by BBC. Everything was set up. Nothing about adventure. Shocked about every "traveler " had so many issues about their mental health.
Unnecessary worldwide travel by 400 plus crew over 15 months is massive - is this sensible from an environment global stewardship potential ? Could this not be done in UK with sustainable transport (eg public transport/electric vehicle infrastructure?
Agreed....These license fee funded BBC programs are unbelievably stupid and gratuitous...particularly shown in these times....one reason my license fee is now cancelled....
