For me, the ideas in ruclips.net/user/postUgkxy_pn55PK60wAV3X_C_RoLS_67mNonoCE Plans were a starting point for building different sheds . Ryan gives ideas that allow an individual to draw nicest conclusions into the design and building of his or her own shed.
A tool that's made in NZ! been a while since that happened I guess but bloody good to see !
in the process of learning to become a carpenter i absolutely think these videos are awesome
Scott is a good one to watch, he's very detail oriented which is vital in this business, Essential Craftsman is good too, another Scott.
I’m one of the guys that finds that gun pretty fascinating. Super cool
same!
Me too, I’m looking forward to the follow up video now.
Yeah I thought it was pretty cool too
Finish Carpentry TV it’s cool but it doesn’t make much sense to me. The people who this gun would really benefit are framers who have to buy gas all the time, but it will only shoot 300 nails before it needs to be re filled. That’s only 5 racks of nails. That means stopping to refill the gun 4+ times per day, which needs a special high pressure compressor too.
Joe S Now that’s the kind of information I was trying to find yesterday after watching this. My immediate curiosity was exactly how long it would last on a “charge”.
Excellent vids Scott. Makes me remember how flipping amazing NZ is.
Hi Scott once again great video. Thanks for talking about the Airbow framer, I too have seen it at Placemakers and have been wondering what it's like, so keen to see your review on it and thanks to you I've put in a order to Piranha tools.
Cheers, keep up the good work.
I'm starting my decking project soon - cannot wait.
Awesome new nail gun. Got an email from Placemakers a few weeks back mentioning it but didn't get a chance to go in and check it out though. Thanks for showing it off for us. Looks really cool, especially the colour. And made in New Zealand? Brilliant!
Super cool gun will be interesting to see if and how it starts to loose power when pressure drops
Another quality episode 👍
Who would have thought watching a Kiwi chippie would be so cool......
Keep up the good work Digger !
That is a fascinating framer.
I see you got yourself those hanger screw I mentioned ;) Great work!
I don't know what was more impressive, the auto laser, or the size of the manus the kids were doing next door!
😂😂
I live in deep south Texas and do the same with thing with a canopy.
Gorgeous laser level. What a great buddy you got.
Love the tunes. Wish it was 26 deg instead of snow today
Bro your vids always have mean beats ay! Good to see more quality work brah
Scott you can use different types of clothes washing detergents to make the oils come out of kwila and other hardwoods. I use napisan, give it a good wash once installed and hose it off repeat once dry and its mosty gone. Probably some more oil that will come out after some heating and cooling but its a good head start.
A Pre-Charged Pneumatic (PCP) nail gun. There are some very powerful air riffles that use this same tech.
Great videos bud. One of the best channels on youtube.
I'm not even a carpenter but I love watching your videos :D
That guns really cool dude, it’s still a true pneumatic and no hose👌🏽💯
Me and my brother joke about them coming out with a bluetooth air supply for guns, we end up with 4 or so guns going and you can imagine the hose mess that ensues.
Merry Christmas guys. Thanks for the entertainment this year.
Merry Christmas to you too
That guns awesome merry Christmas guys have a solid one
That gun is on point.
26? Where I grew up it's about 35-40 degrees in the summer. And humid. Glad I moved to California.
What Cameron didn’t tell ya is that level is a prototype terminator 🔥🔫
I've heard your uv levels are highest in the world. Good shade use.
Also good to see ya getting work in good areas in Auckland Haha hard to find at the moment
I have the Hitachi chordless air framing nailer... charge battery and go... and loves it.
They're SO heavy though, really impractical if you need to do lots of shooting above your head, recipe for shoulder injuries imo
Good video .. good music too!!😎
Love the videos scottiboi keep up the great work respect Scottish joiner 💪 wish we had some sunshine 🙈
Cheers pal !
Hilti makes amazing tools, one of the best if not the best
Apart from their framing nailer which is a bit of a dog.
And the price tag is a bit of a pain
@@smokingcheeba420 definetly, but you gotta pay for the quality. If you don't want to wing for the Hilti, brands like Makita and Milwaukee are solid
Yeah I like the Hilti drill with vacuum incorporated into it
@@torpedohippo8493 yeah I have all makita tools. Love them.
Cool as ever
The hilti laser is sweet!
It 4 degrees in Bonny old England 🏴
The gazebo in uk has another use!🌧
Nobody cares about shithole england
Daithi Deasun shithole hahaha one of the richest countries guarantee you live in shitty India
Great vids, love that Hilton laser😍 but we should ban murbau decking
Prebena released a similar gun about 3 years ago but the difference is that you can change that bottle were the compressed air is inside and you can attach a hose to it if you are in your workshop
Sounds cool
You got a warm 26'C down there. While up here in the north of sweden we got a chilly -10'C
I'm at -35
😲
"Time flies when you're hanging out with your best bro" - Naaaw. You guys are so wholesome!
Keep it up bro 🤙🏻
happy New year! love yr channel
Happy New year
We had 3 days of over 40°C this summer in Sydney, while standing 200x200 hardwood posts. Best thing to do is to wet a hand towel and put it on your head under your hat!
A great episode guys. That nail gun looks really good, I suppose your going to have weigh up the recharging differences. Why was the compressor pipe submerged in water?
well, that was pretty fascinating.
kick ass laser. i love how you guys use all stainless steel fasteners. PLease do NOT lower the volume, when using the impact. u keep doing that. I love the makita impact noise nice and loud. Why? CUZ i own the same one. lol
Nice
that time of year in australia its around 40
Ahh for all the Australians here we call Kwila, Merbau. It's that Real Hardwood that smells like it's been stained and sealed already.
Looks like mahogany
Not a great decking material. With moisture it rots too quickly.
26 degrees, nearly took my jacket off at 25 degrees today in Newcastle NSW
very nice video.. as always. but I was wondering if you could talk about why you build your stars the way that you do. we don't do it that
way in the united states or not that I have seen, or is it more common to build it like that for decks and out side steps?
4:50 ....it's like a paintball gun
Cool gun, the airbow demo video says it can fire up to 300 nails per refill. That's only 6 racks of nails.. would be pretty inconvenient if you were framing a roof and had to get down every 6 racks of nails to recharge the gun.
Walk down memory lane!
Hi, I am an amateur woodworker and love your videos, thanks for sharing. Quick question what make is your “carpenters tool-belt” you use? I would like to order one 😀👍
That's an Occidental, I have the 9855 which is a bit of a beast, more for full time carpenters.
If you find a Occidental you like, it will last your lifetime .
Found the compressed air nail gun site: www.airbowsystems.com/
Spax are great. Cheaper then grk.
Ooooohhhh that gun is interesting. Can you recharge it with a normal compressor? Or is it c02
The temperature today was 35 C in Durban with a real feel of 40.
Being in Australia I used mixed Australian reds for my decking, and it haemorrhaged all over my concrete for a good two years.
Probably should have sealed it straight up. Live and learn.
You can buy a wash/treatment for the tannin that comes out of hardwoods especially these Australian hardwoods. Available at bunnings.
@@normel678 Good to know for when i extend the deck.
Great video as always. I would like to get into work your doing. Any suggestions? Im in the states keep it up!
Find someone who is good and learn everything they know, once your at that point, advertise on smaller job get your actual brute hands on wxsperience tile your comfortable and expand, cheers from a framer in Alabama
Another DECK!
Wouldn't it be easier to buy a cap/hat than to carry the marquee about? Eh?
Great vijayo mate.
I don't think you fully comprehend NZ sun
they should be giving you one for the advertisement bro... hit them up!
Hi Scott those look like some decent screws how much are they and where do you get them from. Cheers
I have a small Iron Wood Deck ( wood that sinks in water ) last more than my lifetime & spendy as hell..
Love your videos. With the post holes for the stairs are you pouring the rapidset for a base to sit on for the post, then backfilling with soil/gravel?
macccaaaaaaa yea want to know aswell?
he poured some and left to set as a sole plate, placed the post and leveled the stairs, then poured more concrete around it to hold it in
What is the shear strength of those nails? Would it not be better to lap joint the post to the deck frame? Or use hangers
I live in Oklahoma USA would like more on information if the ship to USA.
No permit required but you still have to build to code. Because the french doors open outwards they require a landing. Stupid in this situation but true. Who really cares but... you're putting this work out there for all to see.
Essentially that step just needed to be 900 deep.
Good thing you guys have that ez-up, or you would melt.
It's amazing 👍
Got that feeling like someone is aiming at you when you play with that aiming randomly around. I know they have safeties etc. When I was 12 I once aimed my brothers friend from behind. He was an army guy and in a fraction of a second I was on a floor in pain. Then he said you should never aim anybody even with a toy gun. Seems to be my childhood tragedy.
PS. Love this channel.
I wish for 26 degree days a good day for me is usually around 35degree
It's NZ high UV that makes it feel hotter. You'll get people from far hotter climates complain about the heat when it's a lot cooler than where they came from.
Was not aware of that, but in Australia it definetly gets incredibly hot
Meanwhile, I'm just glad it's close to 0 here (in Canada). Last year at this time, it was -25.
In Australia you can't have a doorway open onto stairs. You need a landing before the steps.
Might be worth checking the nz code for the next one you do. Not sure how much variation there is with the code. Don't want you getting in strife 👍
*I believe the code is the se in NZ. But you only require a landing if there is 3 risers or greater. I'm pretty sure
Patrick Chapman correct.
“Where a doorway opens onto a stair and the change in level is greater than 570mm (3risers of 190mm each) a landing not less than 750mm long must be provided as shown in Figure 2”
That’s Australia.
@@joes2318 thanks for clarifying bud
Yep it's a fail here. The code in NZ requires a landing when the door opens outwards like they do in this vid.
Code:
Landings required - Landings shall be provided at the top and bottom of every flight of stairs, ramp or ladder, or where a door opens into the stairway. A landing need not be provided between a flight and a door where the rise of the flight is no more than 600 mm and the door slides or opens away from the steps
They could have satisfied the code by making that step 900mm deep.
Cool nailer. How many nails does it do on one charge? I'm sick of my temperamental Hilti framing nailer.
Tools & Stuff 300. Not many really, that’s 5 racks.
My Paslodes never have any issues.
Where can you buy those nail gun and post to Australia, I have an uncle that builds in Auckland and I have been building in Australia for 11years now and we don’t have sweet tools like that.
What are those Spax screws? the threaded top and bottom ones?
Interested in the review of the nailer dude.
How long to charge, off how big a compressor.
How many nails
Size nails
Speed of fire.... And price!
Placemakers had it for $1750 for the gun and $999 for the compressor. Not a cheap bit of kit by any means
300 shots before you have to charge it using a high pressure air compressor which 99% of people dont own
All those tools are to flash for you boys. Years back we would have to 'share' a Senco and compressor between builders as needed, rest of the time it was an Eastwing. And, when we had to travel to a job, it was uphill both ways!
Laser levels save so much messing around especially that one that adjusts its on height but just a point of note. If you work on a site with other machinery operating, flashing beacons can sometimes be picked up by the staff thinking its the signal from the laser level so you can end up working to two heights. One from the beacon and one from the tripod. Just something to be aware off, great vid as always. 👍🏻
whats the gazabo like in the wind and rain?
Wola! Haha
Just hook up a paintball air tank to any air powered framing gun. Thats all that is.
Can you send some of this hot and sun to UK?
It was 39.5 here in QLD last week and you're welcome to it.
You should nt really use a hosepipe to mix concrète as it washes the sand and cementoff the aggregate.
I come here to hear him pronounce the word deck
I miss Paerau...
Do you have termites in NZ?, seems like those posts are a invitation for dinner
bruuu in Texas it gets up to 110 degrees f
Keen on the review, I need an upgrade from the paslode haha
nice boots.are they bluntstone or redbacks mate?
John Bull, pretty similar to the blunstones
Hi Scott did you not have that gun before.
Can I come to New Zealand and work with you please?
Here's a thought don't wear dark colors when it's hot
can one person assemble this shed?
How many nails will it shoot before you have to put air in it.
300
Get a new wheel barrow ya horis 😂😂 Crack up alrite cuzzyz
Is there a reason why you had the drill on a angle when pre-drilling the screw holes?
My guess is that they are getting some extra resistance to prevent the board lifting. The screw was more a hybrid nail/screw so the head isn't going to do all the holding work like a pure screw would. I am going to research...
@@flashdognz thanks mate i thought there must of been a reason
Saw that nail gun there too. Then I saw the price and I kept walking. Bloody hell it's almost twice the price of a paslode!!
Would have to be AMAZING to justify that cost.
Is it?
