No one has really broken down "the Lost Interview", or done any insightfull commentary on it. It was shot at such a pivotal point in his life. Perhaps spend one episode adding stories on top of what Bruce said in the interview, go more in depth with his relationship with Sterling Silivant. Maybe break down some of his philosophy, "So it's not just pure naturalness or unnaturalness...the idea is unnatural naturalness or natural unnaturalness." This will also draw in more newer listeners/viewers because EVERYONE knows and seen this interview. Good luck sifu. And thank you for keeping Bruce's memory alive. Especially now, since there aren't many left with us, that knew him first hand. -kaizen
Great discussion. I have been training for almost 60 years and teaching for more than 40. I think cross-training can be very useful (I have personally trained in many systems) but I believe that you should reach a level of proficiency in one system first.
Just found you guys recently. I absolutely love the content. Where I live there are no places that teach wing chun and it is something that I am genuinely interested in. Can someone help me with a suitable way to learn?

That reply is the definition of keyboard warrior. “I’ll tell someone his Wing Chun is poor because he’s on another continent”. How about you comment with someone the same way you’d speak to them face to face like a human? Try that for a week.
A lot of the "oh, well I already know ____, I'm just here to touch hands" is exactly what I was guilty of when trying to cross train a 2nd southern kung fu style along with Wing Tsun. To begin with, that's already a difficult endeavor - I only lasted 3 days 😂
My high school biology teacher actually inspired me to teach, or he was at least one of the key people who inspired me and he had nothing to do with Martial arts. Mike Sheng
I have really benefitted from learning how to "be a good bad guy" for my Wing Tsun partner training. Even if its knowing how to throw a good straight punch, roundhouse, etc, its enough to not let my brain get comfortable with "just" WT. That made (eventual) cross training in other things easier plus it helps the person I am training with to not just learn WT vs WT or WT vs whatever other shitty thing I throw out, even though there is some benefit from that because not everyone that I might need to defend myself against will be trained 😂
I agree with this livestream...My main martial art is wing chun and i practice jiu jitsu, boxing tae kwon do and wrestling on the side JUST IN CASE IF A GUY GRAPPLES, KICKS OR PUNCHES ME...The main point of of this livestream is KNOW MORE INFORMATION....But still stick to your main and favorite martial art...😃😃😃
@jeetkunedoatlanta2464 Because when bruce lee lost to wong jack man he still kept 80% of wing chun but lost his breath because he needed to do more cardiovascular exercise and quicker closing the gap techniques to end the fight...In later movies you see bruce doing jiu jitsu and wrestling because he needed to work on more grappling
@@TonyOcasiowingchunpressure no, you don't. You need to know how to use what you know proficiently. You should be perfecting what you know , not adding as much crap to it as possible
@@TonyOcasiowingchunpressure I'm pretty sure I don't need you tell me what Bruce was doing but thanks. As for Bruce's movies, those were movies and not what he did for combat. Nice try though.
Of course! To the Title. My favorite place to go in Chicago was my Martial Arts School! Degerberg Academy where they Teach The Blend 22 different Martial Arts and you may practice each individually! On top of that they would give you a Gi and 30 days of lessons free. Hans Landers
there is so much overlap between the martial arts. Bruce lee's philosophy of use what you can do and what works for you when you cross train is the Do. however be respectful to the teacher and context
Nice to see you guys talking
Asymmetric training, tendon training... the discussion got better and better as the episode unfolded.
Great discussion! Introducing variety increases the depth of the expertise.

Thank you so much! I’m glad you are enjoying the content. In general without a qualified instructor it’s pretty difficult to teach oneself anything.

Another fun episode and that was a value point that you made about someone having an open mind confuse with an undisciplined mind.
