@@Apears4have you heard of the switch pro controller? It’s just the Xbox controller with swapped letter placement. Very comfortable. Plus, you should try using the joycons together as a standard controller. Actually one of the most comfortable things I’ve ever played a game with, if only the joycons didn’t disintegrate if you breathed on them.

The internals are probably the same , i use the first switch and runs tears of kingdom like irs nothing , just buy metroid prome remastered and the same. I play alot on TV so the upgrade for me its minimum to buy a oled just because lf the screen. (

A few corrections- That grille on the top next to the headphone jack isn't a speaker, that's the exhaust vent for the cooling fan. The speakers are close to the bottom of the console, facing the player. And the joy con grip itself has no electronics in it whatsoever, it's just a (slightly) more comfortable holder for the joy cons. Also, you didn't mention the micro SD card slot hidden by the kickstand at the bottom, very helpful for downloading updates/games/DLC. It would also have helped to point out that the dock boasts 3 USB A ports, for accessories like wired controllers, mouse/keyboard, certain audio devices I think, etc. Other than that, fine unboxing. Short sweet and concise, like an unboxing should be.

And now I think about it, the other stuff probably isn't really why you buy a switch. You hit the most important points. It is a pretty great system to have! I
I never use the kickstand because its flimsy and probably gonna break and i never even use the tv but still i like it
Ya, the kickstand is pretty bad on this. They made it a lot better on the OLED.
Btw there is a switch lite its $100 cheaper, handheld only device battery life is better than the released switch but is worse than new switch, storage is 36gb the joycon is permenantly attach and doesn't connect to tv in fact if you try to dock the switch lite the joy stick gets in the way, but unfortunetly is the only switch that only has an official D-pad which is so much better than D-button, the joy con kinda wiggle at the side of the rail but the switch lite it doesn't and also its feels more durable, the size and weight might be good during travel. The screen is small but the image might be sharper than the switch since it has the same resolution about 720p. But the repair is not so lucky because the joystick is the same material so the drift will still happen the left stick is easy but the right stick is beneath the mother board. There is no kickstand of the switch lite since its only for handheld only. Most of the games can be played in handheld mode. The speaker is at the bottom of the switch and sort of facing you. The switch lite comes only with the switch lite itself, charger, and the manual. The switch lite has different color (5 colors).
But its not a big deal to buy a switch lite unless to want to have a 2nd switch and play on the go, buying a switch for the first time, buying switch for kids or more. If you have a switch just don't buy a switch lite because having a switch already is just much better.

As an extra note, there is a micro SD card slot under the “kickstand” for expandable storage. There are also 3 models of switch, the switch lite, regular, and oled. The control isn’t actualy a controller, only a joy con holder, but for extra you can buy one with a battery. You can also buy a pro controller, and many 3rd party controllers (I prefer Binbok). And pro tip, buy $100 Nintendo cards at Costco (they sell them for $90). With the 100 buy the Nintendo eShop game voutchers, and redeem for any 2 Nintendo made games ($120 value)

You should really look into getting a unpatched switch they're cheaper then buying the console brand new and you can hack it. You can also modchip oleds but you risk damaging the console.

Games are pretty expensive, if you want any hope of getting one it’s probably best to pick a small number you’re absolutely sure you would want. Watch some trailers, some reviews. Figure out what you would get the most out of. I recommend Mario kart 8 deluxe as a must have, easily the most replayable game on switch.
Bought my first switch a few months ago. Very spontaneous purchase but glad i bought it. Lots of fun! Especially with Splatoon 3 and all the Mario games.

I was just about to change my lite to V2 but bought Oled instead. God... If I decided to buy V2 I would make such a big fuckup and regret this. Oled is fire!!! These colours are fricking awesome. Splatoon looks fantastic with oled screen.

I love my switch so much, I’ve had it for so long that it’s literally falling apart, the back plate was dangling off, and a piece of the circuitboard fill out, but I pushed it back in and taped my switch back together with Flex tape, I’ll never let anything happen to it
Had mine since 2017, you need to take better care of your consoles. Mine looks the same as it did day 1 except of course for the feeble joycons.

Hey Ruben.Estrada! Thanks for the comment. There are quite a few Nintendo Switch games that toddlers can enjoy.. Maybe try the Peppa Pig or the Paw Patrol game. There is also Little Friends that I heard is good. The Marios might be a little old for a 2 year old but hey, you could always try and play it yourself and they can watch 😀. I hope this helps. Most Nintendo games make sure to be for all ages, but if he’s only 2 he probably won’t be able to handle all of the buttons. 20 different things is a lot to remember for a 2 year old.

I have an og. Ppl really like to waste their money. The oled is not worth that much of an upgrade. Its pointless to buy one if my Switch is working well already. If my switch breaks im either buying an original model back. Ppl still buy the og model
We just have an original now.. but it's fairly new.. my 7 year old uses it so God enough for him.. I did use an oled the other day and the picture is a bit better and screen a bit bigger. You also get double the space for $50.. not bad but ya you can just buy external storage for the og, I think

You just got a bad controller with stick drift. Ive had my PS5 for almost 2 years and i haven't had any issues with the Dualsense which i love. I think its the best controller ever from Playstation!
This has to be ironic, right? The switch is *notorious* for its drifting.
There’s no reason to get a ps5.
The different options have different benefits. Switch has the best games, Xbox has the most power for the price, pc can have the most power as well as the exclusives of both PlayStation and Xbox for a much higher price, and steam deck has the greatest quantity. The ps5 does not have the best in any of these categories. No exclusives, less power than Xbox for the same price, and in my personal opinion that controller is completely worthless. Loads of cutting edge tech crammed into an ancient and outdated design.

You might want to wait for a price cut, I’m thinking it’s going to happen after the reveal of switch 2 in March. Price of switch 2 is rumored at 450, so big price hike, but normal switch will probably drop to 250 to keep its sales going.

Hey! I would say yes, totally upgrade to the new switch if you can afford it. I am actually thinking about upgrading our switch to the OLED. I played one at my buddy's place a few weeks back, and for the extra $50, it's significantly better.

It would be if the switch 2 wasn’t imminent. The library of exclusive games is the best in any console ever, and the gimmick is actually a huge benefit for once. I suggest waiting until a bit after switch 2 is fully unveiled, then make a decision from there.
I know im getting one forxmas but i want to have a game to play with it. My parents said i could get ONE game of any price eith the switch for xmas and then other games for my birthday and ones i pay for, i want a game that i can play for a long time. Im thinking pokemon legends arceus, fifa 23or pokemon sword or sheild. These are all games i have intrest in playing for a long time. Any suggestions?

All bad choices, pokemon games are very glitchy, and fifa games are predatory in their microtransactions. I don’t have any specific recommendations since I don’t know your preferences, but those games are the ones to avoid.

It’s getting close, but remember 20 years ago the ps2 sold 25 million more copies, and that was a full home console that people ONLY bought for a household, not individual people. It still has some people it can reach.

If you are playing lots of handheld uts worth the upgrade. Otherwise keep the stock until switch 2 comes out. The oled is a nice upgrade though

Don’t know where you got 15 from. I haven’t had a single game drop to 15 even a single time. The closest I got was when Mario kart 8 deluxe dropped to 20 during 4 player multiplayer. Normally it runs at 60, so do games like arms and other less taxing games. The most taxing games like totk run at a stable 30, although if you decide to build some wild contraption it will probably drop the the low 20’s.

@@ParentsandProjects not until they get better at not abandoning their best games at the height of their popularity in favor of making the 800000th Zelda and Mario game. I only got the switch for animal crossing and they let it die for no reason. Only reason I still own it is because I'm somewhat of a collector of consoles and physical games otherwise I would have sold it off by now
