Bought this on sale yesterday. Can't wait to play with it when it gets here. Will be using these videos and guides as they are awesome and helped me many times in the past with my retroid pockets and others. Thank you!
Your videos on this device and the device itself are the reason I finally got into the world of emulation handhelds and I love it. Out of all the devices I have went through at this point this thing is still my favorite. So thank you for what you do Russ thanks for teaching me and the rest of us. -Isaac
I've got myself a Miyoo Mini Plus recently, and this is the guide I was dreaming of finding here on RUclips. Excellent job detailing the transition to Onion OS and showing more advanced features that will be helpful in the future. Thanks 🙂
This is the definitive guide for the Miyoo Mini Plus. Honestly, there should be a QR code INCLUDED in the box that links to your video. Back in May when I bought my Miyoo Mini Plus I set up my unit according to your first guide and it helped me a lot. Since then I always recommend your guide, channel and website whenever someone on Reddit asks for help.
nice. mine's already set up but i will watch and learn anyway. the MM+ really is great. such good build quality, and capability in a great size. the lack of fan is great. and most of all the community. Onion OS devs are literally angels. It is amazing software and the best gaming OS I have ever used on anything.
same here!! haha too much appreciation for Rus and his awesome work! even if mine is good, i wanted to watch and who knows, maybe learn something new! it is also great to have for helping me quickly set up some for friends!!
I had Anbernic RG35XX and i sold it after 5 days of getting mad... Now i got the miyoo mini plus on sale but i need to wait for shipping. I wasn't happy with the d-pad and back buttons on RG35XX, it felt so cheap and crap, everybody told me before: dont get Anbernic get the miyoo mini plus, i didn't listen to them 😂 but Yeah i sold it for the same price so no worry
Absolutely love this handheld. Probably covers my needs for emulation as most of what I play was from the 90's and 80's while a tablet I have is for higher end systems like the Dreamcast and above.
Very informative video as always. Thank you so much! I've had my Miyoo Mini Plus sitting on my desk with a new SD card for weeks. I was a little intimidated to set up the new SD card with just the written guide. Thanks to this new video I'm sitting here perfectly content with my Miyoo Mini Plus running Onion OS! Feels so good to check that off my to-do list. Couldn't have done it without this video!
Awesome guide! I always have to give much credit for Russ' comprehensive guides to get your retro handheld up and running painlessly! Keep up the excellent content!
I still have the original Miyoo Mini, feels a bit small at times, but I got a custom grip for it - way more comfortable. I'm waiting for the Plus to go on Sale again, great video!
Rus, this is wild! I ordered an MM+ from the sale and your affiliate link this weekend. I live in Canada and ordered with expedited shipping, hoping it would make it here before my 9 1/2 month pregnant went into labor so she could play tetris. It arrived as you posted this video!!! So thank you, Rus, for helping get one at a fair price and posting this video. You are a real one.
Mine arrived today, and guess what? I bought it for my 8 months pregnant wife too. It arrived in time for mother's day which is this Sunday. I'm setting everything up before gifting it to her. Cheers!
God I wish I didn't lose mine! I can't believe I lost it and all my games I absolutely LOVED the fact that I can just press a button and pick up right where I left off instantly. This put it above my retroid pocket and other systems like the minui pro!
Literally ordered mine yesterday night that I found it for $49.98 free shipping and "choice" and you post this today, lucky me! Thank you for this great video. I'm so expectant The only thing is Koriki 1.4 BoM seems way more appealing to me than Onion
Thank you Russ. It’s your videos that have really intrigued me and gotten me into retro gaming. I appreciate this guide as well. Keep up the great work.
Great video Russ 🙂 Love my Miyoo Mini V2 & the Plus model has grown on me, mainly due to the Koriki firmware. I can't believe it's not spoken about/covered enough. It's the most underrated/overlooked firmware in existence. On my Mini I use Onion OS & on the plus I use Koriki OS. Every single system/platform is already configured perfectly & I mean to perfection! Very rarely do I need to fiddle with the settings. Bezels applied to relevant systems & CRT effects/shaders too! Pick any system Russ & it's already customised to perfection. The themes are absolutely amazing! The performance is unreal! The way games look & play is unmatched! It's an game changer! I cannot stress that enough! Every system/platform is 10/10! Very easy to download (make sure you install the 2 small updates after installing Koriki 1.4) 🙂 Onion OS & Koriki OS are unmatched both bring something different to the table, both enhance experience, gameplay & performance. I have been trying to get people to try it but no one seems to know about it, they just remember the first iteration which was decent but since then it's come a long way, improved massively/tremendously. Stay blessed ♥️
Also in the settings in the Koriki firmware you'd find something called "Koriki screen settings" - this calibrates the screen to Koriki's own display settings which enhance/fix how games look with the said overlays I mentioned above, there's also an option for "stock screen settings" if you prefer the stock settings or if you decide to disable the CRT overlays.
Your comment intrigued me so I tried it I have to say it's exceeded my expectations. I'm impressed it's plug and play so more time playing games less times messing with settings 🔥 Gameboy Color NeogeoPocket GameGear games wow so good 🤯 SNES and PS1 and other 4:3 systems is like having a pocketable CRT. No GPU I don't know how they added shaders to the overlays with no performance impact that's impressive. Thanks amigo!
@@Julio-591 Glad you like it 🙂 It's so much fun. I can play these same games on other handhelds but the experience is very enjoyable on the Miyoo with Koriki. I've playing the 2 MegaMan (Rockman) ports on Wonderswan/color. One is called - Rockman & Forte which is black & white, it looks incredible & the other one is for the Wonderswan Color it's called - RockMan EXE. The power bar pixel perfect. Another random tip - if you ever want to try another emulator on a specific game, when hovering over a game press the Select button & it will give you an option to choose a specific emulator for that specific game.
On behalf of the Koriki development team, Team Rparadise, and myself, we greatly appreciate your words. Users like you compensate us for all the work and sacrifice we put into our system, even though there are people who clearly ignore us time and time again.
Thank you for making a guide that is super simple to follow and just showing off all the true potential of this device. I have no issues at all and now going to binge Pokémon emerald and Metroid fusion
For the best possible SD Card for people wondering, I recommend the Samsung Pro Plus 128 GB. The Pro Plus is a higher read speed than an EVO Select or SanDisk Ultra, sitting just below premium cards at 160 MB/s. 128 GB is the highest capacity the Miyoo Mini supports out of the box without playing around with formatting your block sizes which slows read speed. And it's only like 11 bucks.
paid £22 and had it shipped within 5 days from china to the UK, had it a few days now and can say it's easily one of the best handhelds I've ever used. love playing some of the games from my childhood!
22 pounds ? Wow, it's a huge sale, it's right now on aliexpress big save for around twice your price. The average price ranges between 50-60 Euro, I heard they also ship from the UK to Europe, and the 5 days you are talking about are probably sent from your own country. Average delivery from china do uk/europe = 9-12 days, internal domestic transfers last 5 days.
Nice job gain, your video and written guides are extremely helpful for newer members of this community just getting their toes into the water of retro handheld emulation.
I really wish I'd watched this before reading waaay too many Reddit comments, etc.! Every time I read "boot logo" I just pictured a pixelated boot showing up on the screen and was thinking "why would I want or need that?". Now I see and understand!! Anyway thank you for such a clear and straightforward video, just ordered a Miyoo Mini + and feel confident about setting it up :D
Just bought one last week, my first retro console. Still waiting for it to arrive, but I'll be jumping back into this guide once I've played around with it.
You are simply the best. Just got this due to your posting about the price discount. Very timely video! Sometimes I just listen to your videos while I work because it is so relaxing :) Also... Onions are NOT gross... just sayin..
Bought one recently and its gonna run me like 40 bucks total including the shipping to my country, waited a lot to get an offer but finally got it. Now I just need to wait and see this video everyday till it arrives 😂.

Have been doing some research on this and your videos have been super helpful, thank u! Purchasing the unit now and will come back to this video once i receive it.
Thank you for making this video! I have nephews and nieces and I was under consideration of buying a Miyoo Mini Plus for them so they can experience the games I used to play when I was their age! 😃
I got my miyoo mini+ on Amazon, which was quite a headache given how scarce they were at the time. Long story short I finally got one with a 128gb card though the roms were all numbered rather than alphabetical making it annoying to navigate, and the sd card reader I got would corrupt the files on the card and force me to clean it up(good thing I backed everything up). Anyway I finally got around to installing Onion OS on it and it works like a dream! Plays everything great though I’m still uncertain about playing DS games on it would be the best experience given how tricky they can be to emulate. Still an awesome console companion to the steam deck or even your switch! Great guide Russ!
Amazing tutorial as always sir. This little device is incredible. It covers all the systems that I personally want (and love) to play. The scraper feature in Onion OS is the cherry on top!!
Already have a miyoo mini plus because of the previous video. Had to make sure I watched this one as well so I don't miss out on any updates or new perks, plus who doesn't love a good Retro Game Corps Starter guide? Love the work Russ.
Good timing I guess. I already set everything up using your previous tutorials. Even setting up it's OTA updater, and the OTA update apparently broke everything and it won't boot anymore. So I guess I'll need to set everything up again, so I'll use this video to do it.
Perfect timing, just got mine a few days ago, and I just love it and love Onion OS. I prefer it slightly over JelOS. Only issue I had is the non-standard emulator folder naming scheme which was a bit annoying for me, but figured it out using the wiki.
Bought this on sale yesterday. Can't wait to play with it when it gets here. Will be using these videos and guides as they are awesome and helped me many times in the past with my retroid pockets and others. Thank you!
Same here brotha I'm stoked
Me too, i'm ready for some Epic Gaming
I never get tired of the classic RGC tutorial/setup videos.
I have no intention of getting this device, but I will love this video.

I second this. I bought mine because of this man and have it set up exactly how I like it (also because of this man)
I have one of these and absolutely love it. So glad I finally picked a handheld and ran with it.

Bought mine on black Friday with free shipping for 47 euro. I hope you get one!
I think someone posted that it’s like $50 on Amazon too
If you're comfortable with it, I got mine for $30 with a case off the TikTok shop
I'd recommend a 128 gb card since it's not much more than a 32 gb card and then you can fit the entire Tiny Best Set Go ROM set.
What is tiny best set go rom set?? Is it a collection of roms u can dl from somewhere?
