    start by getting that 32:1 out of the fuel tank . it is getting oil from the fuel tank and the oil tank. way too much.

    I see a lot of people saying that the crank seals are bad because of all the smoke but that's not the case. The oil pumps on these use check balls in the oil lines that are suppose to stop the oil tank from gravity feeding into the bottom end. The check balls and springs get gummed up and the 2 stroke oil fills the bottom end. That's why you have a puddle of oil coming out the weep holes in the exhausts. If it sits for a long time you need to pull the 3 plug bolts(12mm) out of the front of the engine (bottom end of the case below where each exhaust mounts) and let it drain. My gt380 is about to be 50 years old and it's never had the seals replaced, still runs like new. Some people have also mentioned you should plug the oil pump and run premix, DO NOT DO THIS, this can't be done on any of Suzuki GT's because the seals will not let the premix reach the main bearings and you will fry them. The oil pumps on the Suzuki's are very reliable and you wont have any issues using it. If you got any questions let me know.

      @@yannyann6513 Search for SRIS valves GT380 or 550 750. early 750 has pluged and not threaded checkvalves but could upgraded to later threaded valves

  • @TheSmokingbanana90
    @TheSmokingbanana90 7 месяцев назад +3

    Most likely smoking from oil collected in the crankcase. The oil injection check valves tend to let oil past after years of sitting and it fills the crank with oil

  • @briancrull8678

    pipes are full of spoo
    run it and they will clean out
    runs too well to be crank seals

  • @lbdrummer3
    @lbdrummer3 7 месяцев назад +2

    Could be old gas and oil collected in the pipes burning and leaking out. Pipes may need a good douching. Could also do a leak down test to see if the crank seals are toast. Love the sound of it. I would have put Blendzall in it though lol...

    Why did you put 2 stroke petrol in the tank?

    • @shedenvy691
      @shedenvy691 7 месяцев назад +3

      In case the oil injection wasn't working and to add extra lubricant on first start up which was a wise move as the pump wasn't working.

    Use either pre mix or the oil injection. Not both.

    The first start in ages is always gona be a smoky affair.. they smoke a lot from.cold starts anyway... maybe the exhaust has loads of.oil in it still... it may be crank seals but it could be a few basic things too so don't necessarily dive into the engine with your spanners straight away...

  • @HoldenPower
    @HoldenPower 7 месяцев назад +1

    I'd put new crank seals in it minimum. Very important to have a good seal on two smokers. Or at least leak down test it

  • @maddmaxx636

    trying syncing the carbs and see if thats a possible fix. Since too lean of a gas mix can cause more oil burning by the compression pulling tit from anywhere. Thats also how gas bikes are. A too lean of a mixture will cause some smoke because its pulling oil from the crankcase to run.

  • @stevehead365
    @stevehead365 7 месяцев назад

    Maybe the gearbox oil leaked into the crankcase(s). If any crank seals are shot, the idle speed, even for a two stroke, will be too high and very erratic. Ignition timing accuracy is critical on these or it's hole in piston time. The 32:1 was good insurance as the oil feed was an unknown. Good resurrection.

    Cranks seals are notorious for failing on these old smoker triples. Replacing them is no small task, but good luck!

    • @GoldGuyRides

      It was like that when I got the bike, I'm guessing the cover was cracked and they welded it up to repair it. It doesn't leak anything so it must be a good repair!

    That baby is spittin engine oil. It's why it was dry, is my guess. It's also partially burning that engine oil, is where all the smoke comes from. Crank seals are toast 100%. Please don't ride it as it is. Could also be the seals are not completely gone, but oil just slowly seeped through into the crank. Now it's spitting it out. Either way engine needs a splitting!

      Gearbox oil level, has a screw to remove some ware around kick starter shaft, when the oil runs out the screw hole the level is correct.
      I agree , check crank seals
