You can live record direct to your phone via the app. If you get an alert of motion then open it to see someone/thing there, you can then click to record using the video camera icon, or click the normal camera icon to take a photo. There's also a desktop app for your laptop/PC to view and record from the camera
Thanks, I have not used the desktop/ laptop app, but I'm sure it's capable. To answer your first question.. Yes, you can record straight from the phone app if you detect motion. I use that function all the time and there is no time limit.

No, I don't pay for a Cloud Storage for that feature. I think it also records a short clip (6-10 seconds) for free.

Yes, you can do that manually, or set a return point that the camera defaults to automatically.

Montion sensor is cool. But only problem is when you walk in the kitchen you get alert all day night?
Yeh, That's if you have notifications turned on...For the most part, It would just record and save the video clip.
Then you got few 100 clips everyday.Nobody got time for that ;) but i will still order

Great video 👍🏼👍🏼. I just bought the YI Dome 1080 camera and I love it! It actually replaced my non-dome YI standard camera, that died on me, just over 2yrs of use. However, I can't complain because I did get a lot of use out of the old camera in 2yrs and really can't beat the great price point and picture quality... My ONLY issue with my new YI dome 1080 camera is that I can only link one camera at a time to my cell phone and app., if I want more than one camera, like for another room, it says that I have to disconnect one camera first, to use another one!!!😝😝😝...... Do you know anything about this or do you know a way around this issue??? Also, do you know if we have to use cell phone & Yi App to view surveillance, or is there a way to watch through my laptop??? Thanks 👍🏼👍🏼...... Other than that, I LOVE the camera!!!!😁
I'm glad you love the video and the Yi Dome camera. I can't comment on viewing one camera at a time since I own only one, but I would assume you could view multiple cameras on the App. As far as monitoring the cams on your laptop, you're in luck. the image will change when screwed to the ceiling, or it will just be inverted
I have not mounted mine to a ceiling, but I think there is an option to invert the image if you did mount it to a wall or ceiling.
you can revert the image in the app. Go to the settings for that camera and there you will find the ability to revert the image 90 to 180 Degrees

How many users can have access to the cam, like me and my wife for example?
Any number of users can access the cameras(even simultaneously) with the App, as long as he/she has the Username and password to the account.

I noticed that your camera has little to no delay when viewing the live video and when moving the camera. I’m currently experiencing some delay/lag with my camera. I’m pretty sure my Wi-Fi is fine. Any suggestions?
I have not experienced the delays that you've mentioned. I've also looked on Yi's website, and don't see too many topics regarding this issue. I would probably try to reset the camera and have it reconnect to the WiFi.
This is normal.I think with cable will be better

I have 2 red lights on the camera which are only occasionally on? why are they on?
I'm sorry, My camera does not have any red lights on it. If you're looking at the camera at night or in a dark environment, you might be seeing the infrared lights used for night vision.
I know this video is old, but just stumbled on it, fast forward to now... what's your opinion on this camera? I just got two Yi 1080P camera's and for the price they're great...I purchased the cloud service, and was debating on adding this camera to the set.
I think it's still relevant today... The quality is still fine, although my model was a 720p version. Mine still works and I'm considering getting another one. If the price is right, I'd say get it.
Great for the price you can actually zoom in on the photo which many dont know by just touching the screen and spread out with your fingers.
@@pydepiperproductionsllcjon7585 Yeah I figured that out day 1! Also, if you have your phone up and down, to where the screen is full screen, you can turn your phone to the left and right and it'll show you more of the picture. Wild!
Yeah man love these things for the price you can't go wrong. The sale is on now to for 5 cameras it's 79 for the year. Last year I paid 99

I can't confirm since I don't have a VPN, but I would imagine that it is safer. I've used my camera while I was in an international country, and wished I had a VPN at the time. Having said that, you do need your User name and password in order to check your camera on a mobile device. I do think it's safe regardless of your method.

It's automatic...I don't think you can turn it off.
Hey man.. Awesome video.. I have a question tho... Do u know how long it will record for? Like, let's say I put in a 32gig SD card, do u know how many hours it will record? Like, how much space does 1 hour of 720p take up?
At this time, 32 Gigs is the largest memory card size that's supported. That should record approximately 88-104 hours(4days).

@@BakeryPilot this is a year old... but it’s 2021 and I have a 200 GB in my yi dome ( same one ). And it works fine. I get about a month. Depending on settings.

La camera funziona, e anche bene. Però nel tempo (e l'ho comprata 2 anni fa) hanno rimosso i servizi gratuiti, per ultimo la possibilità di avere 6 secondi di registrazione per ogni movimento intercettato. Senza questo, arrivano solo le notifiche di movimento sul cellulare (e a volte anche in ritardo) ma non saprete mai cosa le ha provocate. L'hanno fatta diventare l'ennesima paccottiglia cinese di breve durata, buona solo per popolare le discariche. Statene lontani e non fatevi fregare.
Sono sicuro che lo abbiano fatto. Non ho aggiornato la mia app da alcuni mesi, quindi ho ancora quelle funzionalità originali. Questa è la prima volta che ne senti parlare. Grazie per averci fatto sapere.
Can this camera be used outdoor like for my backyard ?
I've seen videos of people using it outdoors, but I don't think it's rated for outdoor use. There are alot of exposed holes(SD card slot, microphone hole and speaker hole) on this camera that are not weather sealed.
Maybe I can put some kind of case.
Maybe.. I've seen people install it in their porch or balcony.. Might not get wet there.
But if you have more then on , you can’t bring up all your cam at once ..
I don't own more than one camera, so I can't say, but the app interface does not look like you could watch all cameras simultaneously.
I guess the minimize screen function is not available on the iPhone (IOS) version, because I don't have it.
It might be an Android feature. I download this app as recent as lastweek, and that feature still worked.
Is it silent?
It's not noisy at at when turning. Besides that, it's silent.

Good observation... Yeah, it's silent in person, but because of the built in microphone on the camera, it transmits the pan/tilt motor vibration through the mic and is therefore heard through the App.
is the same model available on bangood or gearbest.

You're right, but you have a cool channel and a good review of the Yi camera.
Such a piece of junk the app wont stay connected and the camera is so loud and resets often
This is the first time hearing of that..I still use my Dome cam to this day, and I don't have any issues with it. You might want to contact the seller for a replacement.
Guys read the terms of service YI are scammers
Almost all apps for mobile devices have terms of service. What's so different/specific about these terms?
