I know it's nitpicking but it bugs the hell out of me that a _metal_ thing made of _multiple pieces_ is being called a monolith.
The term “obelisk” is a good replacement for that purpose as they are big and pyramidal at the tip, only difference is they are usually stone
Agreed.
lith means stone.. mono means one.. seems they should just be called metal sculptures. They certainly aren't monoliths.
I wonder if that Dick Haynes guy is American? Weird that he said it was 10 feet tall and not 3 meters. This feels like he "discovered" his own "art."
Monolith is singular to speak about one... Monoliths is plural
For those who don't know, Magnus Hirschfeld -the one founded the institute where the bad guys burned all those books in Berlin - said the following quote: "Where they burn books, in the end they will burn humans too." (Which later became the fate of those who ended up in concentration camps once they opened up crematoriums).
"Gamergate II, Titanic II, everything's a fuckin' rerun."
And, as usual, the sequels suck.
In these cases, the originals sucked too 😂
no, YOU'RE a rerun !!!
The second in a series are nice and all but when are we getting half life 3?
@@robbieburns3564No, I have the runs!!
Next project = Hindenburg II, Electric Bugaloo
Clive Palmer building a replica of a ship that sunk on it's first voyage is the perfect analogy for his attempt to enter politics.
Luckily there is no Australian maga-type movement.
@@sprig5173 There is a space for the populist right in Australia and it predates Donald Trump (2015), and Clive Palmer (2013). Back in in 1996 a couple of Liberal Party of Australia cast-offs formed One Nation. Pauline Hanson was a candidate who was dis-endorsed by the party prior to the election after they became aware that she wasn't exactly on the same page as them.
Together with David Oldfield, who had been a Liberal party functionary and David Ettridge, a businessman, she founded One Nation having been elected as the member for Oxley, taking her seat as an independent.
The current incarnation of Palmers political project, the United Australia Party, competes for the same voters as One Nation.
It's now been happening for over a quarter of century here, and perhaps Australia was immunized against the reactionary spasm that swept a number of countries in the mid 2010's. leading to things like the contest between Marine le Pen and Emmanuel Macron in France, Brexit in the UK and the Trump presidency.
Clive Palmer is the single reason I pay for RUclips premium so much did I hate having to listen to his clown voice ads in the previous election.
@@DanielVisOneCade I reckon Google must have raked in big money - I'd love to see how big a spike there was in Australian's signing up for premium - it was practically extortion.
"hey, nice time it looks like you're having there, peacefully watching videos, be a shame if something INTENSELY FUCKING OBNOXIOUS WAS TO HAPPEN TO WRECK THAT FOR YOU...."
If it's going to be historically accurate, it's also quite like Australia even today, most people think its only meant for wht people.
In the past two weeks, I've seen two cyber trucks on the road, and I can confirm they were actually just the monoliths grouped together to form a mega monolith on the road to kill any and all pedestrians and drivers in their path.
Like a steel diglet and dugtrio. Put that in Palworld.

Vermont went the other way, kei trucks are on the rise and it's awesome
It's just like the sculpture monster in World's End. Or the channel 4 bumpers in the UK.
I honestly can't believe The Unknown was played by a 16 year old. What a performance.
The whole story of the Titanic's shipline (the Olympic class) is tragicomic!
There were 3 ships, The Olympic, The Titanic and The Britannic. Both Titanic and Britannic sunk, the latter in WW1 by a mine. The Olympic, however, rammed and sunk a German U-boat in WW1, and later it accidentally collided with and sunk a US lightboat. It also collided with a cruiser before Titanic was even finished. The Olympic served for over 25 years before it was scrapped.
And even more hilarious is the fact, that nurse Violet Jessop was aboard all three ships during collisions, and survived both Titanic AND Britannic sinking. I can only imagine when the third accident happened, Jessops must've shouted in a frustrated voice "NOT AGAIN!".
Let's be clear about invisible welds in stainless steel. This is an entirely normal process used on stainless kitchen equipment, among other things. Yes, it takes skill, but if anyone says it is alien technology, or any other nonsense, slap them please😊
I literally said CJP weld then grind it flush out loud when that was mentioned.
I guess aliens would know what stainless steel is. Now why they chose a very portable earth material and not like, an unknown material from their planet for a... Random ass "monolith" well... Beats me. Maybe it's just economical. Very stingy aliens I guess.
I don't think they were implying that the invisible welds made aliens more likely - just that it was nicely done. Maybe it's like a resume for a local metalworker?
Slap them? Say no more.
@@bramverhees755 a resume for a metalworker would be a 6G pipe weld on schedule 80 and not take a grinder to it.
I went to the London Dungeon, London, when I was 7, which would've been mid 80s. I only remember bits and bobs about it; they had live rats behind glass, smoke machines, lots of severed heads and axes - stuff like that.
For a 7 year old it was AWESOME. I was into Hammer Horrors with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, so to see stuff like that before me was the cherry on the cake.
Judge it now as adults if you will, but as a young girl it was the BOMB!!
I’ve been as an adult and it was still really good - it’s the actors who make it, they are really talented.
Sounds like the perfect gig for that girl
Totally agree.
I got an interview with the Edinburgh Dungeon years ago. Literally all the actors came from Fife. No idea what to do with this info.
@@PippetWhippetif you’re ever in Scotland check the Edinburgh dungeon too
British person here. The London Dungoen I think is only one place but "Merlin Entertaintment" are massive and own many of our biggest Theme Parks and attractions.
At least there’s no more icebergs left to crash into.
Just garbage-bergs
More hurricanes tho

That sounds like some shit Banksy would say.
It is what someone who isn’t Banksy would do to seem like they are Banksy bluffing people they aren’t Banksy.
That’s what the Lisan Al Ghaib would say!!!
I still can't get over "WILLY'S CHOCOLATE EXPERIENCE" being the title they went with. 😂
How'd the willy get chocolate on it 🤔
"I am Grope-bot, sign this NDA & I'll get you a horse-bot"
About the Titanic 2: Did you guys see the Bob's Burgers where Linda wins a trip to spend the day in a Manor like her favorite show, which is a Downton Abbey stand in,and she ends up having to LARP as a servant ? She ends up leading a servant rebellion. Great episode. It's exactly what would happen if it was real. Oh and I initially thought the free gas lady was a no crime until I learned she CHARGED people to use her card! That's when it becomes a crime to me. If she would've just let people use it for free I'd let it go.
Oh my God that's exactly what I was thinking abt lol😂
OMG that's exactly what I was thinking about 🤣🤣🤣🤣....

"Something to do. A community to belong to." Well said Ricky
I went to several of the Dungeons across the UK as a young man - they were awesome. I remember them being more like museums showcasing the darker realities of life - the plague, the Inquisition, various torture methods used during that time, it was a fascinating experience I’m happy is still around.
Love you guys for accurately enough describing Clive Palmer. He's not just a clown, he's a dangerous clown and it's good you didn't brush over that fact.
Better journalism going on here than any "real" news.
Titanic II designed by George Santos. Technical advisor Stockton Rust.......
So glad he's not spamming RUclips with his political ads anymore.
I love when my internet daddies spread and dump a healthy dose of news into me but where do you think they're getting the info from. Does Palmer hang out around Internet Today Studios?
Indeed. His party may have largely failed but his tens of millions of dollars and Red Scare/misinformation campaigns are a boon for the LNP.
Oh then you went and ruined it by being an edgy teenager crying about "real journalism".
One benefit of finding this hidden gem of a show so late is that I get to watch a lot of the old episodes and catch up on the lore (can’t wait to find out who this Machinima character is, no spoilers!) I just watched the og monolith episodes last week and boy howdy imagine my excitement to see that they’re back!
Buddy you are in for a wild ride.
Be sure to catch up on the saga of Dr. Malachi Love, a long time beloved main character of the show
Fuck what is that hidden gem joke from it’s hilarious
This has to be the only news show where the news not being current isn't detrimental to a backlog binge.
Philly D wishes he had that kind of rewatch-ability.
I started watching this series during the MoviePass arc. Definitely a pivotal moment for the story
In Portugal, we eat leg frogs too, in some regions. And snails are pretty common too everywhere, usually ppl eat them as an appetizer with a cold beer, during summer.
The fact the ship is wider than the original... Is just... Gold.. considering if the original was a little slimmer, she could've avoided the berg that sank her.. 😅
For Titanic II do you realize how many Jacks and Roses would try to get on that ship!
Can we get at least 2 doors for them to float on?
re: London Dungeon
I've not done it myself, but colleagues have said it's good.
It's not like a single horror event year-round, it's like different events throughout the year in London.
Sometimes it's a retelling of Jack the Ripper, sometimes it's a Sweeney Todd theme, Guy Fawkes in November, etc.
You have to book tickets, so I guess it's a bit like an interactive play of sorts?
Cast aren't always available and sets need swapped out every so often.
In which case she'll be relocated to London for the duration of the season then back to Edinburgh afterwards.
16 is classed as an adult in the UK for employment purposes, so there's likely no loopholes the company needs to jump through in order to get her contract sorted out.
"Willy's chocolate experience" sounds like a 2 girls 1 cup situation 🤣🤣
They each get a jellybean for their efforts
This is actually pretty brilliant: "All you need to be happy, I've found in my life, is to have someone that loves you, somewhere to sleep at night, and enough for a good meal. Beyond that, the rest is an illusion - it's like playing golf."
The London Dungeon scared the shit out of me as a kid 10-12. The smell, music and everything there just made me feel so uneasy as soon as I went down the first set of stairs. This was like 20 years ago now so don't know how good it is anymore
This show is a real hidden gem 💎
How is this show hidden? It gets over 100k views on every single video it produces. That's hugely successful on RUclips.

I predict that Clive will move on from wanting to recreate the Titanic, and switch to claiming he will be recreating the space shuttle Challenger, and possibly the Hindenburg experience for the kids.
Hell yeah! The monolith is back. Having it be in the background for a coouple of videos was a funny gag back then.

@@Lucy4orIt sure is.
The London dungeon is actually pretty awesome
It's really gruesome though with realistic life sized displays of medieval torture
U.K viewer here, I have been to several "dungeons" including Edinburgh, Blackpool and York, but not the London one. From what i know from a comedian who used to work there, the London Dungeon used to be in really cool location underground near the docks near Camden, in a site that had actual history, both industrial and paranormal. Then, to make more money the Dungeon company moved it to Leicester Square, the most tourist-y tourist area of London you could get, no history, no authenticity. Now it's next to the London Eye, even more tourist-y. They are one part haunted house, one part history tour, where you get a basic introduction to historic torture implements and such, and on the walk between each room a worker in a costume will jump out at you in the dark.
Eliot: we first talked about [Titanic 2] in 2017, on our old channel...
me: It's been 84 years...
Ricky says you got monolith at home, eliot!
Ur mom likes the monolith in my pants
re: Titanic
Tourists barely like coming to visit the Titanic museums and exhibitions in Belfast and Southampton.
Most of the visitors are locals from within the UK and Ireland already.
Also we blame the captain, the engineers, and the owners of the ship.
Because none of them were from here and thus it was on them that it sunk, as per local retellings. 😅
sound.
belfast did nothing wrong.
Props to Ricky for using the UFO terminology "flap" correctly!
I'd like to point out that the Titanic was not a "cruise ship", it was classed as an ocean liner and its main purpose was transportation. It was an enormous, floating, glorified Greyhound.
Mysterious metal monolith is a great album title
The boys are BACK!
God I've missed you guys. Longest two days of my life.
The thing you have to remember about the Titanic is that it was a 747, not a cruise ship. It was a thing that took you where you were going in whatever luxury you could afford, not something you took a holiday on.
The prop budget has really grown over the years ❤😂
Thank you internet kings for another near-hour long blessing 🙏
A sequel is never as surprising as the original. No longer monolithic

🚢 A better idea for Titanic II is build it to spec but keep it at dock as a museum where you have replicas of items, pay $20 at the front for a "King of the world photo-op, rent certain spaces for weddings (for all the romantic folks), engagements, parties etc. idk think it could work as a floating theme park.
I was ten when HP came to my school (very rural, took a while to make its way out there) and my Homeroom teacher read it to us instead of doing pastoral activities like personality tests and "what job will suit you" questionnaires 😄

Perfect timing! I was looking for something to watch!
There is a tradition in Europe where they gather up all the dead Christmas trees in the winter and bury them on the beach to provide a habitat for lizards and birds, while seeding dunes naturally that are much more robust than the unanchored artificial dunes.

Yes! Just made my weekend! Thanks guys.
The French started to eat frogs during the 12th century because during Lent they couldn't eat meat and for some reason a bunch of monks thought that frogs legs didnt count as flesh and thus wasn't meat.
They really should have done that with beef, and declare it non meat. Or anything other then frogs.
what about bacon... bacon is not meat... it's a kind of salad...
Frogs grow on trees duh!
Probably because fish is typically considered acceptable for Lent and other Catholic restrictions on meat. Every now and then in Catholic circles there's some debate over what counts as 'fish' or 'seafood' versus 'meat'. For a time, aquatic rodents (beavers, capybara, etc.) were argued by some factions to be seafood, and the Pope eventually issued a letter of some sort specifying them as meat! I guess frogs would probably count, but it's been a long time since I really cared about the specifics of some religious rules set more or less arbitrarily by a couple thousand years of old men having abstract theological arguments for prestige and political power, and the whole point of the exercise as originally conceived was for the faithful to eat 'poor people food' and otherwise cut personal luxury expenses for a certain time period as an exercise in humility (and budget saving to compensate for increased charity), and in a lot of places these days 'seafood' is VERY far from the definition of "humble" fare.
Thanks guys for keeping me informed and entertained while I’m stuck at home sick.
