In my recording available (on Spotify) the song is 1st under, so the Chords would be: E/ C#m7/ G#m9/ F# and Pre-Chorus C#m7/ G#m9/ F#/A#/ C#/E# (It's a wounderful change of Harmony with so less Chords.
Cool subject for this series. I was always intrigued by the way that the remixing team Moto Blanco turns crappy pop songs into beautiful melodic remixes. Maybe Ski would attempt to decipher their chord progression "formula"?
@skioakenfull, Thanks so much! I'll get it. BTW, I love this series on deconstructing great songs. You've helped me see how Ableton can be more musical rather than just for electronic music. I will do your courses when $ arrives. Cheers.
hi ski. great video as always. i was wondering if you could tackle a fav of mine - Patrice Scott - Do You Feel Me? would love to understand how music like this made. cheers
Hey, great tutorial, thanks! Just wondered, what key is the song in? And how can you have a D major and minor chord in the same song? I'm pretty new to theory, just trying to understand it, thanks.
As Ski says if you have a track you'd like to see deconstructed then we're all ears. Let us know on twitter with '#emcrequest @point_blank + your suggested track title' or as a comment on this thread.
Does anyone know which string sound Ski used for this? I'm looking for a smooth string sound like this that works with chords and has good attack. The Ableton string sounds that I have either have slow attacks, or harsh attacks. The strings Ski uses are exactly what I'm looking for. Cheers.
