- Parliament Session: During the Question Hour, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman detailed measures to alleviate the burden of pending cases in the judiciary. In response to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s concerns about staffing shortages in National Company Law Tribunals (NCLTs) and National Company Law Appellate Tribunals (NCLATs), especially in southern states, Nirmala Sitharaman assured that increased recruitment efforts are underway to address these issues with urgency.

Is this a responsible reply to the member's question? Staffing is the focal point of the question. Why should the FM starts with a retort* "its interesting"? Arrogance will vanish if elected from a LS constituency.
Shashi Tharoor started of with the comment of laundry list so she answered that. But yes, she could answered in a bit more details to the staffing question.

Ours being the most populous country with diversified culture spread over different regions, many many issues financially based, so its tough ask to satisfy all segments/ regions. One the question concerning the NCLAT, MP Tharoor is correct. FM Sitharaman should take this into consideration.
The purpose if Company Law Tribunal is to create an specialised forum to adjudicate disputes within a fixed period of time assisted by a moratorim. Understaffing an appellate tribunal is just counter productive.
