The limits of science don't make the claims of religion true. Even with its limits, science is the best way to know the truth. No scientific explanation of a natural phenomenon has ever been replaced by a religious one.
Depends what one means by 'religion' In an orthodox sense of the term religion, as sectarianism and blind belief, your statement is true. But when religion itself is a movement towards seeking truth, which is founded on the premise of humility - that scientific endeavour is limited, then science & religion go together. They don't contradict each other, nor are incompatible (as Javed says). Religion is then nothing but the science of consciousness, life & death and exploration into the subtle unexplored aspects of life & it's creations - where classical science is trapped in a deadlock. Science is good in the outer material field, what about the inner field of consciousness - which is a subjective phenomenon? True Religion is an exploration, a learning - just as science. It is questionable and subject to scrutiny & tests - not a self imagined dictate like Javed gives.
@dip-tree that is the difference in the Indian context of religion and the Abhramic religions. In Abhramic religions, religion is constructed around one God and one path. Dear Javed sir, you say, "I am Atheist because I think" - very logical, scientific and beautiful answer - Now, use that "thinking" thought and ask these questions what makes you think?, what's source behind that thinking?, why I think?, what is that intellect makes me constantly pursue and analyze that thinking? On and on... then you will realize "Ishwar" - people refer Ishwara by different forms and names. You don't have to agree to them, but don't deny Ishwar just because others call, refer, see, believe, praise, worship differently
@@ChipotleMasala cant the answer be that we are yet to disover answers to some questions? Everything unknown is attributed to god which stops the quest to find the real reason..
It's evolution that makes us think why because if we can't think then we wouldn't exist and if we are existing in this world then there must be some process which is evolution, Javed knows that people would ask this question...and that is why he referred to Richard Dawkins and you still missed that point.
@teddy11859 Dear sir/madam, I absolutely have no problem if one believes in God or not. If one is Atheist or theist or whatever they want to be. I totally get everyone's point. My question is very simple. What is the source or cause behind the Evolution (assuming if Evolution is behind the creation, existence, intellect, thought,,,etc of everything). How did Evolution come to existence? My sincere request to you and everyone is to keep asking these questions to goto the root of all roots or the very beginning of whatever one says the first is or the source is - that source or cause I refer and many others like me as God - I don't force or ask others to accept my belief but don't deny without providing the right logic or science if one thinks otherwise. Cheers
@@ChipotleMasala it's the laws of nature which creates evolution then next question comes why laws even exist well the answer is they exist due to quantum effects then why quantum effect exist and how can these effects makes laws in macroscopic world...well the answer statistical probability this things undertakes each and every possibility of states that is possible so the question of why here doesn't make sense becoz here every state is undertaken infact there's a state where nothing is undertaken it just only some states are stable enough to continue exist for billions of years while other fizzle off thus we see a nature which follow specific laws and not literally everything...you can read about this in Richard feynamnn lectures where he talks about why something that is totally random in quantum nature can somehow makes sense in macroscopic nature Moreover I am not against any mentality if you want to be theist be one...the problem comes when people don't show the full picture of what's happening in the world
The inclination towards scientific temperament and research has nothing to do with one's DNA. It is all about the culture and attitude of the society as a whole towards science. The scientific attitude depends on curiosity and skepticism, which are based on asking questions. We are a country still living in the dark ages. The superstition and religious bigotry rule our psyche and our lives. But it's time for a change. We need to overcome our fear of asking questions and the negative repercussions that may follow. The present social, religious, and political climate may seem like a death knell towards scientific uprising in the country, but it's not too late to change. In our country, we can create a space for scientific curiosity except religious uprisings. It's time to make that change.
ISRO scientist going to the temple is an perfect example of a balance in spiritual and scientific reality. I respect Javedji but some of his statements I could never agree with.
@grapeshott no my friend. You cannot compare holy books with ancient texts like vedas and upanishads . The vedas, upanishads and ancient Hindu texts ask to seek for the reality rather than defining it.

Being an atheist or being a believer are both similar. In both one believes based on conditioning or what appears true prima facie. To truly know something deeply, one needs discipline, study, practice and persistence. To understand the Supreme Cause, the same requirement exists. It's not about belief, it's about experience which spiritual traditions point towards.
@@Letthereblightt Dude, Atheism is the rejection of belief in God. it's not a belief. You have good knowledge of English, but it stops when you have to apply that knowledge to the word "Atheist". To say "Being an Atheist or being a believer are both the same", is like saying "being a stamp collector and being a non-stamp collector are the same."
@@illzn06 he is right bro both believer and non believer are same because both are governed by ego. Beleif in god or rejection of God are both rooted in ego's need for identity and attachment.
A believer clings to an external concept of God or a religious framework to affirm their sense of self, while an atheist does the same by rejecting these concepts, yet both remain trapped in the cycle of self-identity and intellectual attachment. In essence, both believers and atheists are still attached to mental constructs, whether it’s belief in a deity or disbelief in one, and this attachment prevents them from experiencing true freedom or enlightenment.

If my evidences don't convince you, you reject the belief I was trying to impose and continue to live in your room without the fear of the invisible dragon. Yahan pe ego kahan se aaya?
@rammangal4492 the ego is not about whether someone questions or believes in something external, like an "invisible dragon." Instead, ego arises from the deeper need for self-identity and certainty. It is not about the mere act of asking for evidence or believing, but rather how strongly one’s self-worth or identity gets tied to these beliefs or doubts.

The limits of science don't make the claims of religion true. Even with its limits, science is the best way to know the truth. No scientific explanation of a natural phenomenon has ever been replaced by a religious one.
Depends what one means by 'religion'
In an orthodox sense of the term religion, as sectarianism and blind belief, your statement is true.
