I'm so glad you picked the jacuzzi scene to represent A Goofy Movie. One of my absolute favourite Pete/Goofy moments. Both Jim Cummings and Bill Farmer as well as the character animation are acting so well. They feel so subtle and real and not just like funny toons, without losing the roots to the essence of the characters. You can really hear that in Cummings' voice here.

@@ziggehzigzig1238 yeah. It is very iconic his modern voice but it doesn’t help with the fact they had to tone him down for things like Mickey Mouse clubhouse because they can’t have any real steaks in the kids show, so he has to be more of an annoying bully rather than an actual threat

  • @SaiyanGamer95

Billy, his Pete sounds like a straight-up bad guy. Completely evil with little to no redeeming qualities. Which I think kinda works for a good amount of Pete's roles back in the day.
Will Ryan? To me, his Pete (combined with the character design in Ducktales) seems like an almost completely different character who just happens to also be named Pete.
And Jim, Woo boy! I won't lie, that's the Pete I grew up with, so there's a bit of bias there. His Pete, while still antagonistic for the most part, is less malicious and evil and more of just a plain jerk. Like the kind of guy who would invite himself over to a "friend's" house, eat the good food, and leave, as opposed to the other Pete, who sounds like he would just barge in, take your stuff, and just bully his neighbor into submission. Jim's Pete is also a bit more goofy (funny, since Jim debuted as Pete in Goof Troop).

Great video! I'll go back and give my thoughts on the other voices you've done, but I'll start with Pete.
Walt Disney: Nowhere near as memorable as his Mickey. Still a decent first effort for this notable villain.
Pinto Colvig: The Beginnings of the Pete I've come to love (or love to hate). He still lacks that certain quality that makes Pete "Pete"
Billy Bletcher: The first truly great Pete voice. I've seen several of the classic cartoons with him and he is such a perfect fit for him, especially for the more antagonistic Pete of that era.
John McLeish: Just can't hear Pete. Not horrible, but not good either.
Will Ryan: Was a great fit for Mickey's Christmas Carol, but not entirely suitable afterwards.
Arthur Burghardt: Has a certain quality that reminds me of Bletcher, but not perfectly fitting either.
Jim Cummings: The Perfect fit for the modern Pete, who I always thought as a lovable and goofy villain for the present day. He is a major part of my childhood, so it's hard to pick between him and Bletcher.
    Final Ranking:
    1. Bletcher/Cummings
    3. Colvig
    4. Burghardt
    5. Ryan
    6. Disney
    7. McLeish

Damn! Much like Winnie the Pooh, Jim Cummings has just made Pete such a lovable character, albeit in the opposite way. Evil and menacing, but goofy (no pun intended) and bumbling, at the same time. My only real issue with Jim Cummings’ voice for Pete is that I feel like it started the trend of most of his voices (as brilliant as they are) becoming variations of Pete, i.e., Tigger = lispy Pete, Razoul = less gruff Pete, Taz = demented Pete, Yosemite Sam = Southern American Pete, Monterey Jack = Australian Pete, Ray = Cajun Pete, etc. Absolutely no disrespect to Jim Cummings, tho! He’s still amazing! 🤩🤩🤩

Nope, not copyright claim. It plays ok on desktops and televisions, but apparently not on mobile. Has something to do with the sound on that clip I believe

Hearing how many roles that Jim Cummings could do and sound so different in each one, would it be fair to say he's this generation's Mel Blanc? *gets bricked*
