    Scary moment at 10:44! A couple of slabs almost slid back on you. Great video!

    Man, I've known about this trail for a while, but didn't want to do it alone, good job guys

    • @VenturesOffroad
      @VenturesOffroad  5 лет назад

      Thanks for checking out our content! We were apprehensive about doing it alone as well, and with good reason. Just know your limits and take it very slowly. Use the bypasses when necessary.

      Ambition: Overland I finally made it through in my stock rubicon recon. Thank goodness for skid plates and a great spotter. There are several other trails in the area that are great fun too, but not as technical.

    You guys did well! I also live near this trail. I've done it a few times with no "damage." Its easier, in my opinion from the other direction. So you'll just need to come back and do it again with me crew!

      Thanks for watching! We definitely plan on going back and trying more difficult sections of the trail. We didn't plan very well for this trip and had to cut it short to get back home. Still had a blast!

    Enjoyed how this video gives one a good gauge of the terrain, my rig clearly doesn't have the clearance for a stress free day here.

      Thanks for checking out our channel! This trail has challenging spots but there are more mellow bypasses for most of them.

  • @JustinCaseWages
    @JustinCaseWages 5 лет назад +5

    Have you guys tried using Driver and Passenger instead of Left and Right? It really helped me as a spotter so I didn't get mixed up at a critical moment. I'm still learning but changing the language has helped me. :)

    most difficult trail in VA? it wasnt bad, 2 of my buddies and I were down there on a hunting trip and we brought a mostly stock 4 banger 5 speed YJ on 31 10.5s. we were cruising random roads and stumbled upon the upper trailhead. we decided why not and hit it. took 5 hours and had to winch one time at the top of one of the steep rock faces. definitely dont recommend going alone and starting with only 5/8 tank of gas lol

    • @drewlawrence8259
      @drewlawrence8259 4 года назад

      at 5:33 where you are coming down is what we had to winch up at the very top. the ledge was taller than the 31s would climb. we did the trail in november 2019

      Thanks for checking out our channel, we really appreciate your feedback. Potts is the most difficult trail we have done in VA so far. We were kind of pressed for time so we didn't get to try all the obstacles. Hopefully we'll be going back up there very soon to give it another go and do some camping as well.

    I live 30 minutes from this trail. I’ve broken several rears and a back glass on that trail years ago in my YJ.

    • @VenturesOffroad
      @VenturesOffroad  5 лет назад

      It's definitely a formidable trail. It's one of the most challenging we've ever done. Guess we got lucky to get through with minimal damage 😜. We did, however, take the bypass for a majority of the obstacles. Planning on going back at some point to give it another try 😁

      Thanks for checking out our channel! We really appreciate it 🤙 It's been a while since we did this trail so I don't recall exactly why we didn't use them. I think we just saw all the loose rocks on the trail and thought they would be enough. Maybe if we had used them we wouldn't have gotten stuck 🤔

    Looked like yall had a fantastic day on the trail iam 15 min from the jeep trail and have done it in full on rock buggies and street trucks only thing I would say is try and find someone else to wheel with u something happens up there its had to get out when ur by ur self keep up the sweet wheeling

      Thanks for checking out the video. It was one of the most fun and challenging trails we've ever done. Knowing our limits and when to take the bypass or use the winch has done well to keep us out of trouble but if we ever go back to try the more difficult sections, we'll definitely have a buddy or two with us. Thanks for the advice.

    That's some low sitting shocks. What do you think of them? Worth the price?

    • @VenturesOffroad
      @VenturesOffroad  4 года назад

      Thanks for watching the video! We really appreciate it. The shocks are awesome. We've been through three different sets on our rig and the Falcon 3.3's are hands down the best we've had yet. They can definitely take a hit and the ride quality is exceptional both on and off road.👍

    Hello, just found the channel, nice video! We are looking to run this trail sometime this year. Had a question on your rig. What setup are you running for that front bumper? Looks simple and clean!.

    • @VenturesOffroad
      @VenturesOffroad  4 года назад

      Hey, thanks for watching! That bumper is an Expedition One Basic DX. It's very small and light. We've recently switched to a full-width bumper setup and that bumper is available for sale if you're interested.

    Would portal boxes help with ground clearance issues?

    • @VenturesOffroad
      @VenturesOffroad  5 лет назад

      We have tools that we could have used to get more clearance, like our HiLift Jack and TRED recovery boards. However, we felt it was a good time to test the winch out. Planning to go a size bigger on the tires in the future to get the axles higher off the ground 👌🤙
