Oh man, when she and her sister did "Stairway to Heaven" for an event honouring Led Zeppelin, even Robert Plant was impressed. It was absolutely sublime. This masterpiece is not a song many can do justice to compared to the original (or would even attempt).

The opening of "I Feel Fine" was actually kind of a mistake for The Beatles. The lads were in the studio one day and John set his hollow body guitar down right in front of Paul's amp while the guitar was still turned on. Paul hit a note on his base and the vibration of that note set John's guitar to start feeding back, making that famous twang sound at the beginning. The boys liked the sound, the record company didn't, so John and Paul snuck back into the studio later that night and reproduced it and recorded it so they could use that somewhere. They decided to stick it in as the opening hook on "I Feel Fine" and somehow got it past the label guys and onto the record. If you listen to the song, pay attention to the very first sound you hear. That sound is a single note played by Paul, followed by that famous twang, but you can clearly hear the bass note first if you know what to listen for. True story!

The only other people in the place (it was about 2am) was this group of about 9 people around a big table. They invited me to join them and it turned out to be Anne, Nancy and some crew. They had just done a show in town.
It struck me that they were "real, regular people". No huge "Rock Star" attitude. We all sat, eat and chatted for over an hour before we all went our separate way... I was so enamored I didn't even get autographs...!

Saw Heart back in the day (1978 ?) and the highlight of the show was their encores in which they did a couple of Zep tunes. They definitely nailed the f**k out of those tunes. Ann singing Plant's part was amazing and Roger Fisher and Nancy nailing Page's riffing. But guys, the thing that really got you...the thing that had you screaming was the freakin' drummer !!.......
Micheal f**kin' Derosier was the key to those performances, going from a band covering a Zeppelin tune to a band OWNING the song and making you question who did it better. Micheal pounded the skins so intensely and so SMOOTHLY that you knew Heart, even before they knew one another, were in their early teens at home working out Zep parts on their respective instruments. They lived and breathed LZ for damn sure.
Why oh why the original guys (Fisher, Fossen and Leese) can't get back with the sisters is beyond me. They were in relationships with one another, you say ? Well Fleetwood Mac seem to have done pretty well despite their romances. I got to see a fantastic Mac concert back in 2004 and if they had given up the ghost tens of thousands of folks would have never gotten to see them perform.

indeed a most beautiful woman-then and now. Never saw a performance, but....while changing out window hardware in her home in the mid 70’s, I kept dawdling and stalling a bit with my work hoping she might show up. T’was not to be- I was so disappointed it took a while to recover. Timing. It was a truly remarkable and elegant estate from another time. The ballroom,
