  • The GW6900 is one of my favorite G-Shock's ever however, the quality of the strap (especially on the one I just purchased) isn't the greatest. So I'm going to install a Nato strap via this adapter kit from Ritche Watch bands. Let's take a look.

    Hi.
    I bought one. Put it on and took it off again.
    I don’t like he way it makes the watch stand off higher for the wrist.
    These G’s are bulky enough as it is, the nato seems to make it bulkier.
    All the best 👍🏾🇬🇧

    I just got my gw6900 not too long ago and I love it! Quickly getting addicted to the gshocks and specifically the gw6900. I almost want another one. Keep up the great content!

    i have a g shock 2100, love the watch hated the rubber strap so the watch sat in my drawer. got a set of adapters last week. they are made from cnc'ed aluminum, what a game changer, the angle of them fit my wrist perfectly, i put on a very thin nato strap black with a thin red line in center. its now one my most comfortable watchs and has turned into everything i had hoped it would be for a work watch, i dont even know im wearing it now. finding the right adapter is key as not all adapters are equal.
    i went with jays and kays adapters there a veteran owned company also , i find that to be a big selling point for me also.

    Just bought the same one and had some fun installing the adapters also. Has to use the spring bar tool to push the bar in place. Once in place and the strap installed it felt a lot nicer then the rubber strap. Will buy different colors and patterns. I love it.

    I did this mod. Used JackandKays metal adapters and a Wrist Candy nato. Turned out well. Wearing it as I type this. 😂
    After 20+ years on the same ole factory band, the watch needed an upgrade.

    Thanks for the walkthrough.
    Just picked up one of these watches and I've never really been the biggest fan of the rubber straps that come on them.
    I had a little bit of trouble getting one of the spring bars back in place but the rest was pretty easy with the included tool. Much more comfortable now.

      Nato straps do offer a great deal more comfort than some of the stock casio resin bands, plus they look really cool too!

    The key to adding a NATO strap to a GW-6900 is to get the Jay and Kay low-profile machined NATO adapters. Oh and buy a Barton NATO strap -much better than the Ritche!

    Can you cut off the extra (second) buckle? I would try that, if it's a bother. I ordered this band for my G-shock, and I'm going to cut that second buckle off, if I have to.

    • @nobetagear
      @nobetagear  Год назад +1

      Absolutely, can and did remove the extra buckle…I’m still not sure why there’s an extra one on this band but it’s all good. Thanks so much for tuning in!

  • @BigBeardedBubba

    I’d cut that second loop off with the two buckles run a lighter along the cut to seal end up and just run it as a single pass zulu strap…it’s not going to slide around with those rubbery adapters. 👍

      If say you use a Dremel with a metal cut off wheel to cut off that second buckle why would you have to repair the strap? That second buckle would just come off.

    What's the spring bar mm width?

    • @nobetagear
      @nobetagear  2 года назад +1

      The spring bars are approx 19.9mm end to end leaving only about 15mm clearance for the stock band which is why the adapter is required for a wider Nato.
