- Helldivers 2 News is coming in thick and fast at the moment and I thought it would be a good opportunity to reflect on what the current state of the game is!

honestly pretty happy with it im 200+ hours in and maxed out on everything including the battlepass. i still love jumping into random lobbies especially ones where ppl are lower lvl. i dont see the toxic side of the community. my only issue similarly to you is i can solo all the content now and im thirsting for a new challenge and new progression. i wish they had a system where i could temporarily buff things using Credits/Samples or buy stronger temporary items. sitting at cap with nothing to spend it on killed the joy i once had when leaving a planet with 30+ samples.
Id love the see challenges that would unlock unique items like armor titles maybe new weapons or even skins for weapons
This game has made me remember why I loved games in the first place, I am playing online again, having fun and it’s been years since I last did that.

I agree with your take on the difficulty. 7 is currently my favourite level, you can unlock super samps and get into some crazy fights. Very challenging if you're not careful. Any higher than that and it starts to become a bit 'silly' facing 10 bile titans / chargers in 5 minutes can be very draining.
Its the same in Deep Rock Galactic though, most of the community on there play at Haz level 4 (there are 5 levels). It is the sweet spot between challenging and too over the top. If there was more incentive to play at higher levels then maybe I would but right now I'm happy playing at 7 most of the time.
Yeah I have the same view as you re: DRG too. Both HD2 and DRG are absolutely epic fun on top difficulty but they do require a totally different style of play which I don't find as fun as the tier below!

Once the armor system is added, damage will be a little more forgiving. Each difficulty tear will be a bit easier leaving room for higher difficulties.
I'm really looking forward to this too - I'm usually a tank style player so I'm eager to see what I can cook up once the heavy armours work as intended!
I forgot that modern games could be fun. I normally do not like 3rd person shooters, but this game, so good. I feel like this just like a "test" run for Helldivers, like we don't know what we need. Once we know the Bots and Bugs better we will get updated weapons. I dunno, I am having a blast testing loadouts. Also could see bigger missions and maps in the future.
Definitely agree..I'm sure the CEO said we've only seen 70 percent of the enemies they have in store for us so far!

Id love more detailed stats. Dont think it would change my loadout choices, but would guide me to my preferred targets and engagement range.
Been having a blast with many different loadouts, have been carried some though as i only play with a friends group (and im terrible 😅)
It's a tricky one isn't it but I think more stats would be a good thing to see!

The diligence marksman rifle is my go-to. It clears the small guys in one hit and has great ease of use at both long and short range
I want Mortar shells, along with rockets and autocannons should target nests or buildings and be able to destroy them. Right now it's Orbital or eagle or bust. Also big damage arc turret would be cool if there was some type of protection against players, that set of strategems is kind of terrible right now.

I don't think I've seen anyone calling for the Breaker to be nerfed, but would be nice to see weapon buffs, although maybe not necessarily giving straight up damage buffs 🤔
I think its coming from frustration that the weapons people want to use don't live up to it. But as it's PvE, buffing not nerfing please!!!!
It should be though. Best nerf would be less stability between shots. That would bring it a little more in line w/ other offerings. You can dump 1650 dps into a target and the reticle barely jumps right now.

@@PhaseShifter I'm just saying. The deeper into the map we go, I would like to see a difference in planet kinda like halo meets Darksiders planet. For the bots & for the bugs a literal bugs nest, where they can have breaches in the ceiling not big enough for bio Titan to spawn but something else.
An interior-style map would be interesting. Infiltrating a bot-manufactory, like a full scale one, not the tiny field ones we've had so far. Drop outside, breach the defenses, get right into the heart carrying a package with a virus or something, access a terminal at the heart, insert the SSD into the slot and then escape as the place explodes around you

What i find funny are the people are like "I've unlocked everything, why would i keep playing?" Um because it's fun to play with your friends and randoms?
I can remember playing left 4 dead 1 and 2 for years because it was just fun.
Absolutely and I would say this game is so similar to l4d 1 and 2. I played on the competitive configs on those games for years after! The moment to moment gameplay still stands up now! HellDivers 2 has the same vibe in that regard!
I played the first Helldivers on and off for 8 years, long after I unlocked and upgraded everything both on PS4 and PC. It’s meant to be fun and that’s all I want in a game ❤️
Yeah, but it would be nice if they didn't cap all my currency. The only thing that isn't capped is my super credits.
Yeah the people saying the railgun needs nerfed should be arrested for treason. The railgun is suppose to be OP. Everything but the breaker and railgun need buffed. I’d love to use the AR but from difficulty 6 to 9 it’s worthless.
You know, I’m not even sure the AR is really that weak. I think of weapons in terms of the role I’d use them in. The Liberator AR is great at whacking multiple light enemies even at moderate range. I carry different weapons/strats for heavier enemies. It’s great for mopping up most things that will call reinforcements or chase me down. I’m happy with where most things are sitting right now. Keep it Liberated, Helldiver 💀

BUFF NOT NERF FOR DEMOCRACY!
200hrs in and I've never seen someone kicked for loadout in Helldive(9) w/ randos. With one exception, I kicked a lvl34 for refusing to use a booster in his loadout, after asking him nicely, twice.
Anyone put the antenna helmet on and heard weird things on certain worlds ?

I never understood people asking to nerf good guns in a pve game instead of buffing the weak ones

Yeah... the devs seem to think most of the primary weapons being absolute dogshit is a good thing. I'm not holding my breat for this one.
