Tremors 2, in my opinion, was the scariest Tremors movie.
Agreed
I wholeheartedly agree
I know, especially if you see it for the first time, and you are like what the hell came out of that worm.
Definitely, the first one was definitely scary but most of it took place during the day time save for that one scene. This one really upped the ante on the horror factor with the addition of the shriekers and the whole scenario with Grady and earl being stranded out in the dark with the shriekers nearby. And this scene right here was horrifying on its own.
Especially the part with Pedro's truck, finding just his arms.
Rest in absolute power Mr. Fred Ward
RIP 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
This scene is a masterpiece of terror. The buildup for the shriekers is amazingly done. This movie is just fantastic...
That's kinda why I think 1 and 2 are the best of the entire franchise
Part 3 was just plain dumb with the lame ass blaster part
4 was kinda like the 1st only 100 years before
5 was a different species and they looked plain stupid amd you could tell they were fake
And I haven't even seen the 6th yet
But parts 1 and 2 are the absolute best
Devin McNeil Bruh, frickin’ agree with you that the first two are the real deal. And some point. I find the second more interesting and little more terrifying.
@@BmorePatriot
The second is more terrifying cuz it not only makes an interesting build up and a whole new threat, but it also shows the new threat coming at you without warning
Devin McNeil Yeah. They didn’t know until they reached the radio tower compound as they found a working vehicle. Yup. As Earl said; “Sure ain’t no damn ostrich”.
@@MrMonsterJamFan 3 was dumb but I did end up liking it a bit if only because it helped set up the Series which was fun.
This film scared the hell out of me when I watched it as a kid. That sound of the graboid screaming in pain gave me nightmares in the 90s.
Especially when I went to my aunts house who lived in the middle of nowhere. Always thought there was grabboids out there and screaming.
Which lead to me not sleeping had to go to my mom for comfort.
I've had dreams of them being real. I know how you feel...lol
In pain 😥
I can only imagine being out in the middle of nowhere.
No cities or anything near by and you hear this at night
How terrifying it would be.
Kinda like hearing a pack of wolves howling at night off in the distance not knowing where they're at but still knowing they are there
@@MrMonsterJamFan I would feel sad and horrified because graboids aren't monsters they're just animals it's pretty sad that the brown ones give birth to shriekers but dying the process but the albinos don't which is why in a prequel in the first film shriekers don't come out of them especially El Blanco in the third film because he was albino like the rest of them I would just be scared with tears in my eyes not for me for them 😥
I loved the movies and then I was scared after
The end scared the shit out of me 😂😂
Noah Woodworth got me to 😂
Same except I didn't jump
Same here
Fucking got me too and I was wondering what you were talking about lol
Same
1:35 Grady : Poor thing, I mean don't you just feel a little sorry for him.
Earl : No!
😂😂😂😂😂
Which was sad if you look at earl's face. You could tell he was lol
@@MrMonsterJamFan How? That answer was pretty straightforward. And why would he feel sorry for them in any way? Those things killed his friends and other people he knew. They tried to kill him on numerous occasions. If anything, he was scared of the thing yelling because he knew something was up and it wasn’t a good thing.
I genuinely did feel sorry for it until I realized that it was part of its lifecycle.
RIP Burt Gummer, you left behind an epic legacy and went out fighting as a legend.
He’s still alive, I think you’re referring to Fred Ward
@@Queen_of_Sombra no this was back when I saw the last tremors movie, but after hearing about Fred Ward I mean this for both Burt Gummer and Fred Ward.
@@Queen_of_Sombra talkin about burt in shrieker island
I remember when I first saw this movie the anguished roar of the graboid sent chills down my spine. The tension in this scene is brilliant
No worse sound in nature than apex predator screaming in pain
This was the scariest part of the movie for me. At this point, we don’t even know what came out of the graboid, let alone the howls it’s making. The music and atmosphere are amazing as well. The build up to the truck and radio tower were excellent.
Agreed
Glad someone here is acknowledging the music, it is just plain eerie and does a great job of adding to the atmosphere
2:54 I like how they didn't have Earl say "metamorphosis".
That word definitely doesn't find its way in a blue collar worker's vocabulary
I like little details like that
Or, in his fear, he couldn't remember the word.
I always noticed that too. It was a nice little touch that reflects good character writing
Maybe he didn't see _Gremlins_
I don't care, this was a worthy sequel!
This movie was just as good as the first and I will fight anyone who disagrees.
Yes but you lose the element of surprise when the monsters are up on the ground. But the self reproducing army is nice touch.
I actually enjoy this one more than the first. Granted, I love both of them to death, I probably watch one or the other every year or two and there aren't that many films I re-watch that often.
I'm with you 😄
It should be both graboids and shrikers attacking at the same time
in a lot of ways Tremors is Alien and Tremors 2 is Aliens. People can debate which is better but i think most fans would agree that in both franchises, these films were good/solid. Similar story beats too. Not surprising the sequels weren't as good just as in the Alien franchise lol.
Although 3 and 4 definitely carried the spirit the franchise better than 5-7.
Earl: There’s a word for it.
Me: Metamorphosis.
Because we all saw _Gremlins_
Tremors 2 had the best horror effects of all the tremors movies. All of them are entertaining but this one actually had the most suspense/gore and scary moments of all of them
Graboids are easily one of the coolest sci-fi monsters ever created, little snappers included.
i wish i could have a trained Shrieker so it eat who ever pisses me off
until the Graboid dies and its 6 Grabber tongs become Shriekers then your into a mess as 24 Shriekers invade your town looking for you using your body heat.
Ass Blasters are comical though. Lol
Haha, I joked with my mom saying I would get two Shreckers and the assblasters and train them, so when she went to Walmart shopping would be more easy, and anyone who got in the way, well, “bye bye arms and legs.”
😈😈😈😈
The news would get wind and ask a survivor of the Walmart flying man eater attack,” sir what happens how are you still alive with both legs missing?!!!” He turns to the new man and points at the bloody thing tied to a shopping cart,” that son of a bitch stole my legs.....” haha reference to the terminator, that hobo from the film,” argh that son of a bitch stole my pants.”
The build up to the shrieker reveal is perfection. The unholy roar from the graboid, the torn open carcass, the build up to their intelligence, it made them horrifying to me, these new creatures being so smart that they destroy vehichles and radios. It felt like it was a hopeless fight freaked me out so much as a kid.
What's even scarier is that Earl and Grady were close to the Graboid and escaped being Shrieker fodder without even knowing it.
intelligence nothing, shriekers just attacked whatever radiated heat.
Add the part where the find Pedro’s truck, which is in my opinion the scariest scene in all the tremors franchise
Same Here
"It's a whole new ballgame!"
@@dnasty312 "it's a whole new GAWDDAMN ballgame"
When it comes to Pedro why did they even call him Burt was most likely closer and with his truck being a army truck you think it would have had something to pull earls truck out.
@@retro8696 Plot reasons I guess lol
This was def the creepiest part of the whole series…the music, the fact how scared they are cause they dont know
This scene alone kept me up at night for days when I was a kid. I watched all kinds of scary movies but for some reason this movie touched me in all the wrong places. Masterpiece.
Same here.. even being 20 i still have nightmares cause of this scene.. but i love it.
Whats scares me more is how lucky earl and grady are.. the Shriekers that came out had to have spotted something immediately and went after it silently.. considering they came out facing the truck...
I remember watching this, I was young and scared shitless. I wanted to sleep with a shotgun.
When I first saw this I wanted to sleep with a belt fed minigun next to me.
When I first saw this I wanted to sleep with a belt fed minigun.
@@GBRyker61I wanted to sleep next to two and a half tons of high explosives
This part was always creepy to me as a kid, still is as an adult but a bit less so. Think it's the howls of pain that get to me.
Yeah. The sound design for all the creatures is absolutely topnotch. The shrieker in particular.
When the carcass of the Graboid was shown, there were two oval-like sockets inside, and eggs were planted in there. The Shreikers, a way more smaller entity of the Graboid, were in the eggs. The eggs hatched while the Graboid was in the process of tunneling underground. As the Graboid howled, the Shriekers were eating the muscle and thick-layered skin that was on the side of the Graboid. That was why there was a large, fleshy, and meaty gap in the Graboid's side.
Gee thanks for the uptake captain obvious. Wow i can't believe that after all these years no one figured that out til you commented. I mean it's not like the film didn't show the large beast torn in half looking like it had been eaten or anything in only a few minutes.
God i hate comments like yours.
Next thing you'll say is graboids produce more than one shrieker at a time.
@@homesliceheroes6306 Geez, calm down bro. Just tryin to tell others about it. Some in here may not be familiar with the series

0:43 Burts reaction over the radio is priceless then to get Earl and Gradys reaction to the graboid screaming at 0:53 is just hilarious
RIP Fred Ward
Dude, this scene still sends shivers down my spine. And I'm no wimp when it comes to horror...
That last scream before the shriekers broke out the graboids stomach was epic wish we heard that scream in other movies to know more shriekers are forming
This scene, specifically the part where they find the Graboid literally split open, scared and traumatized me as a child.
Even the part where Earl says "damn worms never cut you any slack", made me imagine some sort of creature landing in the tree as they walk away and jumps or flies off of the tree over the dead Graboid in total silence.
I know right, that piece of the music score made it even worse for me, made me not want to hear a Graboid shrieking ever again.
It is pretty intense especially where Earl claimed “Something came out of it” to Grady. And explained of what possibly happened and guaranteed that it’s not something good as he said “Only thing that I bet whatever came out wasn’t no sweet little butterfly” which he was right. And it makes me wonder where the Shriekers are at as they came out of the Graboid and they are lurking somewhere and it’s pretty scary where they could be at right now there. And luckily no Shriekers came straight towards ahead to them at the crashed truck. The Shriekers missed their dinner which were NEAR them.
Sounds like you predicted the ass blasters in the third movie
It's made even worse when you realize the only reason why Earl and Grady weren't jumped was because the Shriekers simply went in a different direction. Hell considering the timing...Earl and Grady and the shriekers may well have passed one another as these shriekers would have been the most likely candidates for the ones to have killed Pedro.
@@Servellion
Yeah, the Shriekers were the ones that killed Pedro, because if it were a Graboid, the truck wouldn't be intact or up on the ground. Add to that, Graboids don't go after anything with heat.
At 1:10 i used to get scared when i was a kid watching this movie in the dark at night and used to have nightmares about them and think they would get me.
Now its my favorite scene of the movie
Devin McNeil same here. I was so spooked out at that scene when I was younger. Now I love it.

The 1st movie scared me the most, that scene where the dock gets pulled underground scary stuff.
@@christonstracener6007
Basically the doc's car you mean
Devin McNeil yep, me too. It’s still a chilling sound
I love how he felt bad for it. So sweet
And to think Grady and Earl came so close to being eaten without even realizing it at first. Since the graboid and thus shriekers that came out of it were right there they are lucky the little devils didn't find them moments later.
The only thing that irks me making it unrealistic is the fact that the shriekers disappeared so quick right away.
In reality, there is no way they would disappear as fast as they did once born
@@MrMonsterJamFan I think what got the shriekers attention was the heat from the light tower and Earl and Grady technically had cover since they were behind the mountain the shreikers hunt by infrared not sound that's just my theory
@@cristianlizama787
Yes that I also agree with but it's the fact that not even 1 full minute of birth happens and they're already gone. In reality, they'd still be there for at least another 5 minutes. That's the only unrealistic thing to me. I know it's only a movie but still. Sometimes with these types of movies I like to get a sense of what would go on if it were to be real

now you can say what you want. i think the first two tremors movies are amazing and kinda classic. it got worse with time. i didnt like the idea of the third stage. i think the shriekers are perfectly fine as the final step. they are freaking terrifying. i mean they are small look fked up and they are also able to reproduce fast. perfect. giving them the ability to fly is just overkill.
Irarius D they sorta replaced the ass blasters with winged shriekers in the fifth and sixth movies
This scene would've been a lot more scary if I hadn't already known what was coming (first time I saw this movie, I came in at the point where the shriekers were attacking the refinery).
I saw the movies out of order. The third one then the first then the second so I figured this was the graboids turning into shriekers
I feel terrible for graboids when they are torn apart by the shriekers, the sounds of absolute agony both terrify me and just makes me feel so bad

This scene is so amazing and chilling
The moment that graboid released an anguished scream was when I knew this movie was about to take a different direction. The build up is perfect. Its another set of graboids in a different place. They blow em up for a little, but maybe the graboids start adapting and its back to the rocks with nothing to defend wity. But that roar changed my expectations. When it sounds off all alien like and they reveal that something came out of the body chilled me on my first viewing. Absolutely spectacular subversion for a sequel.
I really want to know how they made that scream at 1:28. That was incredible sounding.

The deep, longer howl at 1:10. Would anyone know where that might have originated from? I don't think that it's work from the Tremors 2 sound team as I have heard the sound in some video game soundtracks, so I'm wondering if it's a publicly available anywhere. It's so haunting.
The first Tremors will always remain the best but I always found Tremors 2 to be more fascinating than the first. This film was straight to video meaning a lower budget and no Kevin Bacon but my god did they turn out one heck of a worthy sequel. I remember my parents renting the VHS tape at a mom & pops rental store and really loving this film as a kid.
I love the whole twist with the Shriekers. In the beginning of the film, Burt and Earl were already well verse with the Grabiods after the events of the first film, thus turning the movie into more of a adventure movie. When Shriekers entered the fray, it reverted Burt and Earl back into the meandering emotional path that they were in from Tremors 1 and setting the films mood back into horror.
It's a shame that the other sequels couldn't live up to this. Those films got really stupid with monsters like "assblaster."
Actually, I think the only one of the franchise that went to theaters was part 3. This one a long with all the rest of the films went straight to VHS. None of them went to theaters
And you're right, after the first 2, it just got boring and just plain dumb
The scene with Pedro's truck was so good especially with Earl being reminded of the incidents before him and Val met the Graboid. You could tell how terrified he was even after coming up with a plan.
