The only local meteorologist I trust is Joanne Feldman on Fox 5 Atlanta. She says how it will be... that is how it will be, the rest are just guessing. Keep our local weathermen and weatherwoman (if that's a word) !!
I dropped our RUclips Tv when they upped the price to $83. My grandson mentioned that they use the RUclips Premium and this is what we have on now. We don't watch much other than RUclips either.
I subscribed to RUclips Premium during the political season to avoid campaign ads. Afterwards I cancelled it. I realized how great it was to watch YT without ads and resubscribed. Worth the money to me.
I subscribe to the Weather Channel Premium and I trust the Ryan Hall RUclips channel for severe Weather so it won't affect me, but a lot of people still watch TV so I think it's a mistake for Allen to discontinue Local TV Weather yet, but since they can already get forecasts from the Weather Channel it makes sense for them to use that data for local forecasts and find a way to seamlessly integrate it.
I watch a lot of RUclips videos in the evening simply because the platform offers a LOT of educational content that can’t be found on other streaming services. Broadcast television continues to lower the bar each year and I continue to watch less and less of it as a result.
Hope that the local meteorologists will be retained by their TV stations. I have seen The Weather Channel not know what they are talking about with weather in my areas. Not everything can be learned by online research. One needs to have lived in the area and observed patterns over years in order to properly forecast the weather for a specific location. This is especially true when severe weather occurs.
I’ve been using YT premium for 5 years bc I’m allergic to ads. Content creators who put ads in the middle of their content, I either stop the video or ff through it. Been a cord cutter since 2013.
That is incorrect Creators hawk goods for sponsors in their videos even with yt premium YT does not insert adds in premium if they did I would not have it @joeweatlu5169
@@joeweatlu5169 Not necessarily. Many creators sell ad time on their channels and read the ads themselves. Those ads don't really bother me because I know the money is going directly to the creator.
@@joeweatlu5169 They can control it though. They can turn ads off if they want, they just lose the ad revenue. They can also control how many ads per video. That ad revenue really adds up so some creators are a little heavy on the ads. They like to say "oh YT does that I can't control it" but I don't believe that for a minute. I have a couple of channels I watch and creator decided no ads and it is great!
Yeah, sure, Comcast has this new "news and sports package" for $70 per month. So, does it include the usual hidden "broadcast TV" fee of $30 and the hidden "RSN" fee of $20? I cannot believe for one minute that it won't include these hidden fees.
I watch Roku and Tubi all the time. Both have very few ads, compared to OTA channels. I also watch Victory Plus, which is showing all Anaheim Ducks hockey games for free this year.
Anyone else getting streaming fatigue? I feel like I am always chasing channels. They keep changing bundles so just when you think you have what you need they take one out of the bundle. It's getting annoying and almost as expensive as cable. Cables going to start competing with lower prices to lure people back to cable.
You can not replace local weather broadcasters who know the geography of their viewership and who actually live in the areas they report the weather. Another example of the almighty $$ decisions of TV owners these days. If they do this, will not watch, just use the various apps on my IPad or iPhone. Then they can eliminate the weather channel broadcasts all together if they are so worried about $$ and not serving their local customers.
A lot of emergency alerts go out over local channels. It is not a good idea to let meteorologists go. People depend on local weather especially in storm country.
I clicked on the link in the description to read the story and see the entire list of channels. Where are the channels in the 6000s? My Roku Live TV guide only goes up to 1104. I do see a handful of channels in the 3000s under the Add-Ons tab. The guide also starts at channel 115, so how do I find channel 80 that you show as new? The other channels you show (between 115 and 1104) do show up in the guide. If anyone knows how to access the numbers I mentioned in the 6000s, I would appreciate the info.
If there is a channel you like to see add it to your favorite list and it will be easier to access. One bad thing about streaming live TV is that viewers can't use remote control to turn channel.
@@Forest77Wood Problem is, without a keypad to punch in a number, and channels in the 6000s not appearing in the guide, I have no way to get to them to make them a favorite. Thank you for the reply, though.
But not local. If there are tornados or severe storms around where I live, I don't want to sit there and hope Ryan Hall mentions it. The local TV stations concentrate on my area, show local radar exclusively, show local storm tracks, and issue warnings based on local information. RUclips weather channels are for gawking at bad weather far away from where I live.
You mentioned today that you have RUclips premium. What else do you subscribe to? I realize you probably subscribe to more given your job. But if you were a regular non sports family, what would you suggest? (Currently a DIRECTV customer) $200+
I agree with you but when the weather gets bad, it’s time for me to find a weather radio or a large responsible MW station that has big time weather coverage.
Why would I want the Comcast deal when I can pay $12 more dollars and get more of the channels I watch and have unlimited dvr storage to boot.if it had been $50 or less, it would be more attractive .
4X RUclips. On a PC just watching RUclips if you press the mouse on the video, the video will speed up as long as you press. I can't really tell at 2X though if pressing goes faster still. But definitely gets faster as lower speeds.
Can do it on a phone too. Speed through parts of a video you don't need to watch. I found that out by accident carrying my phone with my thumb on the screen while listening to something. You can also change the speed on either pc or phone to 1.25, 1.50, 2.0 etc by using the settings button
The new 'channels' on Roku Streaming - That's more a sign of a problem, adding even more channels to a crowded list of channels on a crowded list of streaming services. It all needs to be pared back, there are just too many of them at both levels.
you can remove any channel that you want from the guide. Press the star button and then go to manage channels. I removed all the Spanish and Kids channels from my guide.
What a cluster fk. So I am deleting apps because of update. It MAXED out storage. Most won't delete. Anyone know how I can undo the update. Deleting apps is not changing the room available.
If Comcast offered with their new package NESNwhich carries the Bruins and the Red Sox and NBC sports which carries the Celtics then I might be interested but it's not anything I'm interested in.
A lot of local weather forecasters would do other things community involvement along with local forecast and local being in touch with the community we’re losing uniqueness and everything due to corporate expansion there’s no difference between any cities or any local broadcast anymore it’s so homogenised

Time to cancel my Prime account. Far too much pap sports content is riding on my back already. Send the ESPN Tax to Hell, not to paid services.
Blood will be on their hands when no one has coverage that is decent during a tornado outbreak.
