Its nice that Eufy keeps updating their older systems. I think its just a matter of time when Eufy or the other manufacturers put a camera in their door locks. Thanks again for keeping us up to date!
Your post is from 1 year ago. Eufy now sells the smart door lock with a camera built-in. Reviews are complaining about short battery life in these units. Powering wifi, bluetooth and a camera as well as door chime 24/7 drains the batteries too fast, apparently.
@@Mike_Malloy Mike, thanks for the update. This is very good information that most people wouldn't even think about. Bad guys will always approach a door to check if it is locked or to see if people are home. You always want it working 100 percent of the time.
Saw your built in wifi review and then watched this. At this moment, they're selling the old bluetooth touch model with the wifi bridge for close to $100 less than the built in wifi version on amazon so I guess that makes me purchase decision easier.
Might give this Eufy lock a try since it will work with the Eufy doorbell. Keep hoping for Poe cameras and one base station for all Eufy products. I tried the Wyze lock when it first came out but sent it back because it took longer to unlock the door than using qa key. Also have decided that most Wyze products junk and threw them in the trash.
I have the keypad for the Wyze lock and it is actually, as far as mine is concerned reliable Wyze product that I have. No downtime, Battery life is my only issue.
Thanks for the info. I have the Eufy doorbell and Eufy door Entry Sensors on my Home Base. I now have the Eufy smart door lock. I'm disappointed that Eufy requires a separate Wifi Bridge in order to have the Smart lock connected to the network. It should connect to the Home Base like the Doorbell and Entry Sensors. :/
i see a lot of complaints about new model wifi built in model rechargeable battery not lasting long. shpuld i buy the bridge model? i plan to get the doorbell cam and flood cam.
Thank you for your videos. I am considering buying more than 1 of these but unsure what the difference is between Wi-Fi with bridge and more expensive Wi-Fi model. Also there is are Bluetooth only models I considered with and without fingerprint scanners.
Nice video, but unfortunately the bridge and smart lock are not available in NL. I would have liked an extra chime, ring, because no telephone nearby is no bell. Hopefully this will come.
shouldn't the battery life of the touch doorbell (in conjunction with the wifi bridge for a like-to-like comparison) be better than the wifi version since the door lock battery doesn't also need to power the wifi radio?
Can you add multiple users to the lock / app all with their own passcodes? Like, can i assign a user a specific 4-digit passcode when i give them access through the app? I am on the fence between Eufy and August right now. We have a SmartThings home and its really hard for me to get hardware that is t compatible but your videos have been extremely helpful at convincing me , especially your Eufy camera videos , I’ll probably be replacing my Arlos
i was trying to find a video on wifi extender for eufy cameras. Do they need them or not? And that wifi bridge in this video, will that work to get stronger wifi signal to eufy camera that is outside?
Looks identical to the door chime from their 1080p grade wireless doorbell minus the grey fabric. Curious if the chime can be used as a wifi bridge through a firmware update. Compatibility within their own ecosystem is definitely a bit confusing.
I’m not sure if they want their regular chime works as a WiFi bridge. They priced this bridge accordingly...a WiFi bridge and a chime, so it is a bit more expensive than their regular chime.
I love Eufy products but I am finding their product line is getting more and more complicated. Works with Homebase, doesn't work with Homebase, wifi, not wifi, a ton of different cameras that work or don't work together. I sure would like just a product discussion of their product lines including all the cameras, destination for recordings, etc etc etc
I'm finding that out as well. I chose Eufy because they don't require a cloud subscription as everything is contained in-house on the HomeBase. Looks like the Wifi Bridge will take the place of the Home Base. It can already integrate the Eufy camera doorbell and door lock but not the Eufy Entry Sensors (yet). Downside is the the Wifi Bridge must be with in 20ft or so of the Eufy smart door lock which still communicates over bluetooth to the Wifi Bridge. Finding a happy spot to place the Bridge between the door and wifi router is the challenge.
Question: Is the bridge that comes with the Eufy doorbell compatible with the Eufy smartlock? Meaning I wouldn't have to get a separate bridge? Thanks!
How about when you want to use it as a additional chime for your eufy battery doorbell but wired. Does it work? Because in a big house the homebase 2 is not loud enough for upstairs.
"This is not going to integrate with any other Eufy homebases." Eufy not integrating with Eufy is far too common theme. I'm thinking that Eufy is actually a bunch of different individual groups that are entirely unaware of what the other is doing.
Strangely I don't get the "Connect existing device" option. Just Done and Add new device. I can't find anyway of connecting the video doorlock to the chime itself, so it chimes when the doorbell rings. I've reset, readded etc. So weird, any tips?
I would if you could actually buy it in Australia, Eufy sold lots of these locks then wont sell then bridge and now pushing the wifi lock at double the price :(
@@tysonmarostica1772 Not really, the manual says that it can handle multiple devices, but their example it describes is a doorlock and a doorbell combo. However, it also states that the wifi bridge must be withing 20ft of the device; not ideal for my situation.
So still no integration for indoor cams? 😐 I really don't understand their ecosystem as yeah you want us to buy more products but why so many versions and incompatibilities? You have to go over the product page with a fine tooth comb to know what works with what. I just want the indoor cam to have announcements since it won't do it with Alexa.

I have been waiting for to be released. I purchased the doorbell but couldn't add the lock to the chime. I will definitely order this. Great review.

lol I wish I saw this before I bought my second lock....I thought it was a completely different model...oh well I can use it for the back door

does the bridge act as a wifi extender?
Thanks, not available in Amazon, do you have the model number to look somewhere else?
Ring know has geofencing for its cameras and alarm system in the app. Go to settings and scroll down to find Geofencing.
Thank you.

If you use a homebase do you still need a micro sd card in the wifi bridge? Seems like the homebase might have way more storage?
hey man how does the new eufy doorlock with the wifi inside battery works? i say a lot of people day only work 3 weeks then u need charge
i was trying to find a video on wifi extender for eufy cameras. Do they need them or not? And that wifi bridge in this video, will that work to get stronger wifi signal to eufy camera that is outside?
Is there a way to strengthen and extend my Eufy cam signal between the home base and cameras so the alerts work better? Thanks. (Eufy Cam 3)

Can you use a home base for the lock instead of the Wi-Fi bridge?
What if your eufy cameras already have internal storage and you only need the extender for outdoor cameras?
I'd love to know the answer to this...
Ring has a Geo fencing option now will you try it out?
Will do.

I have to test it but I think it would still not work until they update it.

I know. Eufy badly needs integration between their cameras and other WIFI products.
Can you connect first gen bluetooth smartlock to a regular eufy homebase ? Instead of a this bridge?
What is the model of the eufy smart lock touch as I have seen the Bluetooth versions arnt compatible or possibly some.
It is their first generation smart lock touch.
Did you get your okay button 😊
Yes...it is being shipped

Does the eufy smart lock have auto-unlock when it detects your phone via bluetooth? how about geofencing?
I got the new wifi door locked can I connect it to my hub? I want to link it to my door sensor.
👍👏💐
What voltage does it run on? 110 or 110-220 volt?
can use it to bridge between Eufy camera and homebase 3?
When will homekit be available?
I’m not sure for their locks. It doesn’t even integrate yet with their cameras.
I would if you could actually buy it in Australia, Eufy sold lots of these locks then wont sell then bridge and now pushing the wifi lock at double the price :(
I just ordered the Eufy lock with wifi built in. Scheduled to ship next Tuesday.
It's selling on Best buy site for $219
how does the battery last?
@@Arctic5fox how does the battery last?
My first charge lasted over a year. We don’t use our front door a ton so that helps.
Can multiple people access the fingerprint scanner?
Does the wifi bridge work with multiple door locks?
I am looking for the answer to this as well. Did you find an answer?

Eufy wifi connector goes offline often
Replace with new one same issue
I haven’t experienced this.
why not test a eufy robot vac?

I agree. They need to focus on integration if they want to compete with Ring.
To bad not avalible in Canada and Eufy charges more in Canada which is why i'll pass. But Lifehackster is the best!
Thank you,
The battery run out so fast can someone help with that?
Mine came with the bridge
Oh OH don't let us know your security code :)

That takes way too long lol
