  • Dancin' Shoes Became A Hit Song By Nigel Olsson (Elton John's Drummer) In The Late 70's. The Original Version Was Recorded By The Faith Band From Indianapolis, Indiana And Written By Lead Singer Carl Storie. Both Records Were Released To Radio Stations At Exactly The Same Time On The Same Day! The Competition Went On For Many Weeks With Nigel Olsson Coming Out On Top In Early 1979 At #18 And The Faith Band At #54. Here Is The Original Edited Hit Single Version From The 1978 Album "Rockin' Romance"

Much prefer Carl Storie's version, but then I'm from Indy. Loved growing up in the 70's!

I didn't know about Nigel Olson's version until a few years ago. Growing up just south of Indy, this is the version I heard on radio. Still a great song.

After several listens, I prefer this version to Nigel Olsson's version.

I agree. IMO it's more evocative of feeling than is Nigel Olsson's rendition. I also like Nigel's version. As a keyboardist, I love the piano and strings, etc. :)

I remember seeing these guys in late 79 or maybe early 80 at a barn in bean blossom... A bunch of bikers were there. They were great

Nigel Olsen's version sucked, when compared to the original Faith Band recording...It's a shame the didn't have the marketing and management to push them further...

Yes! It's a shame when talent doesn't have necessary and sufficient marketing and management. :(

As a 12 y.o. at the local skating rink, scared to ask the older girls to couples skate, this song will always hold the fondest of my memories...I should've took my shot 😊
