I would have done it through out the course of month... 1 gel a week. Because I feel like using a product once isn’t always the best way to judge something. That’s just me though. Plus as a curly head gal I only wash my once a week so doing it over the span of one month makes sense. (But I understand that this is a show and 1 month of taping isn’t really ideal)

Honestly they all still needed work. As a natural women I feel that they need more work with styling their hair in general. When we say use a scarf meaning for a period of time, also lightly add water / moisture aswell it helps. Your brush matters !!!!! Back to the scarf during your makeup routine have the scarf on brushing your teeth have the scarf on that part is crucial to keeping you hair in tact throughout the day. Our natural is gorgeous we just all need a little more education and time in our get ready routine.
I know I don't know how to do my hair, but to see them really have 3 people who literally cannot do their hair like AT ALL , zero effort --- this test was kind of :/ like what. Should of had different skill type , on top of different hair types for this video. Maybe a take two cause YIKES!
Des The Lioness No people with hair types like the girl with kinky hair can slick down their hair but they need to put it in sections, tie it overnight, use water etc you can just put the gel and go no one does that
Thinking the same thing. They were literally just putting it in and that’s it. Where is the detangling? sectioning?shingling?you can’t see how a gel works if you just put it in. 🤷🏽♀️ but I’ve been natural for 8 years and I’m just getting the hang of it
You know. I HATE it when mixed-race girls with clearly looser textured hair go on about how difficult their hair is. When she said she couldn’t slick it I just rolled my eyes.... This is also coming from a 4c who slicks her hair no problem.
christle madra honestly I don’t fw gorilla snot cuz it’s too sticky like glue. Imma try to type up a little step by step for you. I use Style Factor edge booster GEL and I use their edge control. 1. stretch your hair -You must detangle and stretch your hair otherwise you’ll have a hard ass time manipulating it. You can either do twists, a braid out or blow dry it. And make sure your hair is MOISTURIZED. If it’s dry it will be harder to manipulate 2. Section your hair -You won’t be able to get a flat slick down by gelling all your hair at once. I like to make 3-4 sections/layers starting from the very back of my head and ending at the front 3. Start slicking -Brush out and gel each section down using a hairtie to secure it. I usually redo the ponytail for each section but if you want you can add a hair tie for each section. 4. Protect your hair -Use a satin scarf to tie down your hair and wear a bonnet and you’re pretty much done. After you tie your hair wait about an hour and check. If you have any whiteness or flaking just dab oil on you hair and tie it again then wait for it to dry and check again. The whiteness should be gone. If you don’t wanna tie your head you can use a blowdrier to set your hair but it won’t be as effective. (Side note: you wanna tie your hair down TIGHT. If it’s giving you a headache or making your head feel weird then don’t make it that tight but basically as tight as possible) This way is way more time consuming than how other textures do it but that’s how I get a perfect slick down.
