I bought a blue submariner 19 years ago and still love it. I’m on the waiting list for the green sub. Fantastic watch!
Both the Hulk and the Starbucks have great looks and appeal... The Hulk has the sunburst dial for those days out in the sunshine... The Starbucks is has the appeal of a regular submariner but with a twist.... There is no challenge between these two as they both form part of the Rolex heritage but from different design periods..

Hey man! Great video. Im thinking of getting a Starbucks as well but I am afraid that the green. may be too much for every day use? How has it been for you these past 11 months? Hi there, thank you very much😊 Nope I am not even the slightest bit tired of the green. I think the black dial goes very well with the green bezel without being too loud or too much in any way. It goes very well with all sorts of outfit styles and colours so you can be assured that you’ll love wearing it for a long long time👍🏻

But based on what I checked online, the MSRP is roughly $10.5-11k and the market price is around $21-23k depending on condition, box & papers, and warranty date. Can anyone from the US please confirm?😅

Thank you so much! I don’t mind the length of the clasp, aesthetically still looks good and wears very comfortably. It has to be this long to allow for the 20mm glide lock adjustment. If you prefer a shorter clasp, go for the yacht master 40😁👍🏻
@@time2watch-18 Thanks for your feedback. But the yachtie doesn’t have the glide lock... I have the 40mm SubC and the clasp is a bit shorter than the 41mm. But that’s just me cos I have a small wrist.
Ah I see, I feel that the additional length of the clasp for the 41 over the previous 40 is still very manageable even for smaller wrists😊👍🏻 as long as the position of the clasp sits at the center of the wrist.

It's indistinguishable from the original Rolex. The movement parts are interchangeable with the Rolex parts. The bezel is ceramic and perfect..

Rolex dealers. The guys that tell 99% of potential customers that there is nothing in stock or they lie about a waiting list. Meanwhile they sell out the backdoor and into the grey market or to select "VIP" customers that keep buying other watches they don't even want, just so they get access to that private room for steel sports watch every other year or so. You couldn't pay me to walk around with a Rolex these days, I'd feel dirty.
I appreciate your comment and expressing your views. I understand that the reason you feel this way is due to your collective experience regarding the matter, and I know there are many people who feel the same way. If I may just clarify a couple of points:
1. I do not agree with dealers who push watches that the customers do not want at all just to get the Rolex. Personally, I have encountered such dealers before and I absolutely do not continue interacting with them. I will be talking more about this in my upcoming video.
2. This particular private room is open to anyone as long as it’s unoccupied. I have been in there just to look at some exhibition pieces even before I purchased anything from this AD.
Anyway, I’m sure you’re enjoying the other pieces (other brands) that you’re genuinely a fan of. Take care and all the best👍🏻
@@time2watch-18 I used the "private room" as an analogy, to make my point. Most Rolex dealers do have at least some stock in their "back room", safe, you name it. Rolex should have long prevented any sales to the grey market and adjusted supply, but they rather push their brand image to the next level, trying to be on the same as Panerai or AP. Problem is, many people got burned by this tactic and skipped Rolex altogether.
Once the demand crumbles due to the world-wide recession that we are facing, supply will be back and prices down. By that time many of those who got burned will stay away from Rolex and they may very well sit on their watches for prolonged times.
Meanwhile their own sister brand offers better watches, for example the Pelagos, a much better diver compared to the Sub, at half the price.
Have a look at the IWC Aquatimer for example, on another level altogether compared to the Sub. Or get your hands on an oil filled SINN UX made in Germany, it was tested to over 12,000 meters water pressure, no Rolex can keep up, almost 10 times deeper. They use submarine steel that is several times harder than the 904L steel that Rolex uses.
Rolex is selling hype, not new tech, not success.

Its simple: buy at least 2 or 3 other high priced watches from the same dealer, eventually they will call you and offer some random Rolex steel watch. Buy that too. A year or so later you may finally get a chance to buy the Rolex model you wanted. In the end they make at least the same profit on you compared to buying it outright in the grey market. Why would you even want to be associated with a brand that likes to take out their customers like some sheep?

Haha I’m sure you’re not the only one! Really depends on your personal taste and what attire will you mostly be wearing. The starbucks gives off a slightly more casual look than the classic black sub😊 As you already have a Batman on jubilee which I think is very dressy, I would suggest the Starbucks😁👍🏻

Oh wow... a Rolex AD who not only has Submariners on display but ones that are actual watches and not display models with dummy movements in them. When I want to look at current Rolex sports-models, I usually have to check out the grey-market dealer across the street from one of my local Rolex ADs ... :D
Thanks for your comment😊 From what I can remember, all the ADs I have visited here in Singapore have display pieces that are actual watches. I’ve only heard about dummy pieces from some videos I’ve watched on RUclips (not sure from which country/region)…
@@time2watch-18 I haven't checked in a couple of weeks, but over here in Germany, I've yet to see *any* Sub at a Rolex AD. The best some of them have been able to show in the past were two-tone Daytonas and one had a Root-Beer GMT in the window when that first came out. No Bat- err... persons, no Pepsis, no LV or LN Subs, no stainless steel Daytonas, no Explorer Is. There's also always that little "not for sale/display models only"-sign sitting prominently next to the Rolex models they do have on display. During my last visit to one of the ADs, the sale-rep's words were "we currently don't have any Rolex models available for sale". Being (very politely) told to sod off and then seeing the ludicrous prices at the grey market guy across the street is kinda starting to put me off the whole brand. :)
@@1SaG I see, seems like even the display models are very limited over there… to be honest there are many other awesome brands with a lot to offer! For me I’ve always been happy to explore any brand as long as they have something that attracts me😊 keeps the hobby more enjoyable in my opinion!👍🏻
Congratulation! How did you manage to pay $10700 for a brand new Starbucks? I am based in the uk and thought retail was around the £16k. Are the Rolex dealers cheaper in Singapore? And which dealer did you buy from?
Thank you very much! No I did not pay $10,700. The retail price here in Singapore at the time I bought it was SGD14,690. I don’t think the retail is £16k in the UK, it should be quite a bit lower than that😄 I got this one from Cortina.

What is the point in covering up the serial # on the warranty card? Is someone able to claim your watch just b/c they know the serial #? I mean, I see vin #s for every vehicle that is on the street. Am I able to do something with just the serial #? And if you can lose your watch that way, then why bother showing the warranty card at all? I doubt there is anyone out there screaming "WTF, why are you showing the watch? I just want to see the warranty card." It's just a waste of time.
Go read up on what’s the purpose of covering up the serial number. No, it’s not to prevent someone from claiming my watch.

Rolex is a good watch for people who used to be poor and feel the need to signal the change in status to offset their insecurities, it's akin to wearing loud clothes with huge logos, but people of actual wealth and status don't wear Rolexes, they find advertising financial success in poor taste and prefer understated elegance, no loud brands, if they even wear a fancy watch it's going to be a Moser or maybe a platinum Patek or in the case of rich Chinese a Vacheron.
If you really have such an opinion of Rolex, I would suggest you to stop watching any Rolex related video. I think it’s a waste of your time🤣
