As someone who's been playing these games since the release of DS2, I have a nice tip for invaders: always expect disadvantage. You are not in the arena, hosts and his blues/sunbros don't respect you, they WILL rush you, they WILL gank and spam at you. Don't hate message them after getting pawned, because you are not welcomed in the world of the host, you are quite literally a parasite wanting to disrupt and make their experience harder. Learn how to go around all the shit they're throwing at you, and this comes only with practice, which means, it comes with failiure.
Couldn't agree more. Especially about the hate mail, which is like losing a second time lol. Even if you know deep down that you could beat them one-on-one, it's not a duel.
This video couldn't get to me at a better moment (Also thanks to algorythm but anyways). Long ago I watched Chasethebro's Pvp solo leveling run and got motivated to try it. Problem is, there is a lot of disadvantage and getting lots of runes out of it is hard, at least at the beginning. It was my first time focusingon invasion and on the pvp in general and got hit hard. I even considered quitting from the challenge and the game for a while. But after watching some other videos, after seeing I wasn't alone in this matter, and that there was much more for me to learn on pvp, I gave it another try. I keep frustrating at times, but I try to tune it down. Thanks for the video my dude!
I also did a pvp run and I got pretty tilted more than a few times lol. Had to take a bit of break after I completed it. Cool that it got you into that side of the game though, stick with it!
@@Weird_B0nes Updates to that. I was invading last night and thought of pausing for the day, but I went for a few more. I stumbled upon a coop who had the late game stuff, but either had little health or no upgrades on flasks. Even though I died in the end, I killed the coop and the guy dropped a wopping 300k RUNES! You can't imagine just how euphoric I was! I could lvl up 30 levels and buy a lot of stuff!! Really the boost I needed hahahah!
Great video man. This is a huge reason why i only invade like once a week rather than all of the time like prior souls games. Not only is it frustrating to spend your time off either getting destroyed, or winning by having ran for 10 minutes, but half of your "invasions" are actually just fog walls. I know its júst a game, but ffs getting blendered after waiting for an invasion for 5-10 minutes is very demoralizing.
Thanks man! I feel this is becoming a more discussed topic in the community since the DLC. We're all feeling the life drain out of pvp in real time and forced to create our own fun. And it's so exhausting when you only have so many hours to yourself.
Yes, I'm bad at invasions I don't care I play for the PVE. But, I'm not sure how many of you had the fun and exciting experience of farming for Vertebra Shackles in dark souls 3 in fight clubs and invasions to get the platinum.
Truly people who are just wanting to get into invasions have been given the most difficult game to do so. Those of us who have played the previous souls games during their prime are so lucky compared to the newcomers to Elden Ring when it comes to PvP
DS2 was my first souls game and sadly I realized very late that I could just play offline with my PS3.. Elden Ring 99% I play solo. I enjoy the "me against the world" feeling and I take my time with the game. I use summons only for bosses or arears where it is safe to use. 🙂
I’ve discovered that if I lose my mental game in the invasion and start raging, I always lose. You have to keep your mental game strong or you’ve already lost
I started invading not so long ago and most likely from sheer luck, I won my first invasion and mistakenly thought to myself, "oh maybe this is easier than I thought". I then invaded again and got immediately one shot by a phantom with a grave scythe. 😅 It was a funny reminder that I'm not supposed to win.
I've had times where I am doing very well in an invasion. Dodging projectiles, waiting for a safe opening in a 3 v 1. I get one of them down, but then I get stuck on a rock or some immovable object and the other two catch up to me and chop me up like a vegetable. Either that or I spawn in and they're fighting a big ass dragon that takes up half the screen and can also hit me if it wants to. Usually I only get triggered by somebody spamming magic from two football fields away and as my corpse is fading they run over and start t-bagging, like alright bet, when I respawn you'll be my first target. But I like what you did when you left the afk blue alone to occupy a slot. I usually kill them for the free flasks, but I'll try it your way from here on. Sorry for the paragraph. New subscriber here, about to check out your other videos and see what else I can learn.
The spamfest invasions are the ones that can get me tilted sometimes. Hate having to wait my turn to do anything at all. If I'm full on flasks, worth leaving the AFK blues alone. But if I need that refill I take the freebie. I was just so fed up with the constant summons with these guys and I wanted to isolate them as much as possible. Not sure how educational my mid gameplay will be, but thanks for checking it out!
I must have invaded hundreds of times by now, think i may have won like two invasions? But i never stop cause the fun of invading and PVP, is just too great to not enjoy. The potential for epic anime fights is too big.
You say that the point of invading is to win? No. The point to anything in the game is enjoyment. Win or lose, if you aren't enjoying the process itself, you have already been defeated.
@@alex_pearlMaybe my tone was off. My point is more how *most* players will view pvp when the souls version doesn’t gel with that. “After all the point of pvp is to win” was meant to be more of a “well this is what somebody would probably say”. Worth calling out.

Exactly! Invaders are basically role-playing the bad guy. Never expect respect or fairness from a host.
Invasions truly teach you to never give up...
Or to give up and come back another day ; )
real and true
