Where I grew up one of our neighbors had a willow tree and as young child , I loved sitting under it on a beautiful summers day.

    Lovely series, thank you.
Who is the little bird, at 4:50? I was thinking it might be a yellowhammer but its beak is too slender.

We have the native black willow, sycamore, oak and river birch surrounding our pond, but only the weeping willow we grew would be chosen by the oriel birds for their hanging over the water nests. I saw the entire life cycle of our willow and now the spot is 3 yrs bare. Quite a loss, and all the time I could have been growing more easily to replace it, just sticking twigs in the mud. I found wild oyster mushrooms on the willow logs too, something new to me. I did not know they would support them.
Not to be a downer, but someone who plants a lot of them and then leaves, may want to leave behind a charity to pay for the removal of a bunch of wood in 30 yrs. Planting mine as a 25 yr old was way easier than cutting it down and hauling it off as a 60 yr old. lol

I would love to see the oriel birds in their nests, Sounds wonderful.

@Qingeaton In regenerative gardening, "too many" trees are planted, some of which will be cut down at some point and nOt hauled away but left to increase soil and plant/fungus/critter diversity.
Sorry to hear you had to haul away those precious oyster logs...

The quickest way to grow willow is from cuttings. It is a fast growing tree so it can also grow from seed, but would take a lot longer.

Excuse me ma’am, but why don’t you consider that the artwork you show here is pernicious, immoral and so destructive to humanity. Why is the young woman’s breast on display this way? Why is the man stark naked with his neither regions partially on display? Is it not merely the lust of a foolish artist? There is no good reason to display the human body this way. These works ruin your good work. Be blessed with this good counsel, my friend, “a little wickedness in a righteous person’s life is like a maggot in a tincture.” I urge you to use decent art work instead. I was very much appreciating your wisdom as I am growing willow tree cuttings at home and I am excited to know more about this magnificent tree.
May God bless you with heaven’s lamp light as a guide in this world that is ever embattled by the passing evil and darkness from the fallen messengers whom God has pledged to destroy forever for what they have done to humanity and to Him. Amen

There are many, many reasons why the human naked form is depicted in art - too many to debate here. But suffice to say that taking a puritanical view closes down that interesting exploration.
