Hi Doc! Two suggestions: 1) Don't dismantle the world eater, it looks cool! 2) Ilmango made a frosted ice platform maker back in 2020, you could use that to fill in the bedrock holes, this also improves the efficiency of any mob farm inside the perimeter. Btw, your video made my day, I've been waiting the whole week for this!
The hermitcraft server is such a beast. On my friend's server I've attempted to make a perimeter a couple of times and I could only run like 4 machines max.
The whole time from hitting diamond layer to when he actually did it, I was thinking in my head... Doc, change your texture pack to make the diamonds stand out more! Not something I normally do, though when he is doing fly byes looking for diamond ore, probably missed 1/2 of them for a while. Amazing video, as others have commented I can't believe he got it all done in one episode...happy he did. EPIC video from the GOAT
This just proves to me how much I love engineering and such, I forgot the pure joy that comes with accomplishing the impossible with a machine you made, and you reminded me. Excellent work on the project, Doc, I can't wait to see what other crzy things you have for us in the future, and also, just basically deleating the entire viewable world does most definatly fall on the line between villian and insanely brillient creator, thank for falling into the latter.
I don't put it past etho to go: "This stack of diamond blocks is very generous, but they all count as my first diamonds so ..." *Tosses a stack of diamond blocks into lava making all witnesses cry* And thats why we love him, a safer gift would definitely be bulk resources like iron, wood, and redstone stuff. (All un shulkers for him to keep) And if i heard correctly in a previous episode doc wants to make a fun shulker farm like Etho's LP one (presumably as an original design) and not just make the most efficient farm this season. I am definitely looking forward to what doc makes for "fun farms" since we know he can make ultra efficient ones.
The walls of the perimeter look so incredible. It's like if the grand canyon was in the shape of a big square. Removing the bedrock and seeing the void below would look super cool, but it also seems like an extreme amount of work, you can decide if it would be worth it or not. With bedrock would still be cool-looking. When I saw the world eater plans, I thought it would take much longer than this, like months and lots of the season. But it's done! Holy heck it's done. The world eater constructed and ran. Ate so much of the world. Doc is consistently mind-blowing.
@AnonymousNoname I don’t agree. I play bedrock as a technical player and sure, it’s different to Java, and sure, there are many bugs (as there are in Java), but it’s still tonne of fun and I reject the premise you can only do 5% of what you can do on Java. I’m currently creating a 9x9 perimeter with a world eater down to bedrock and while it’s a lot of work because there’s no TNT duping, it’s still a lot of fun.
@AnonymousNoname bedrock may get neglected but the C group of languages are compatible wwith litterally every microprocessor on the planet, Java is not. (They are also much better as not every single function needs to be a full class to even run) The problem is that bedrock gets treated like a red headed stepchild, one of the bugs with ancient cities was they copy pasted java redstone and didn't update it for bedrock mechanics turning the door into a noise maker. I play bedrock because i always have been a console or phone gamer (ipod on the bus to school, or gameboys before that), besides the series consoles are basically the ultimate budget gaming pc in terms of power (not pc levels of flexibility). Also BUD power on java is silly (and probably a bug) and Bedrock has movable tile entities, i can literally make a piston tape supersmelter if i want. (Note sticky pistons spiting blocks on java is a bug, but it should have been a feature in bedrock)
@AnonymousNoname my take is that bedrock is neglected but has potential. Yes i agree i enjoy java redstone more because it ultimately consistent. But movable tile entities and some command structures
It was a quarry/worldeater that first attracted me to Minecraft content on RUclips (probably SciCraft) and this brings back memories. As a Geologist the way the layers and structures are revealed is really exciting to watch! I could sit through a full layer-by-layer world dissection for the full 14 hours. 🤓 🐐

After the grian prank I got hooked and started binge watching content, then the world eater, so now I'm subbed. Can't believe I hadn't watched you before now
I had the exact same thing. That was the starting point for me watching his content and now I look forward to every Friday when a new episode comes out.
I noticed at the very end there was a double chest instead, of a single chest like there was before so it must be more than single chest so that means 64x27=1728 diamond ores plus maybe another 20stacks of diamond ores, that's 1280 ore, combine both of them that's 3008 +18 stone diamond ores = 3026 diamond ore ,that's my final guess butttt who knows there could be shulker boxes...
The perimeter walls look coolest now with the natural terrain dissection effect imo - I'd leave at least one wall like that, or maybe with a glass covering like a display case!
What pained me was to see doc walk past one of my favorite, and one of the rarest, blocks deepslate coal ore, which I usually pay one netherite ingot per block.
One detail I love about the perimeter is seeing all of these new large caves on the walls. Some are big enough to fly through but the perimeter is so much bigger that they just look tiny!

For the walls: 1 side: Fanart of a 10 year Hermitcraft picture "pixelated" 1 side: Whitespace for the hermits to "paint on" 1 side: to make it look nice when you look at your base 1 side: "Display" to show current storage with redstone or be lazy and use 2 sides for your base look&feel :P
I'm curious if anyone's done the math on the amount of TNT needed for this. Like if duping wasn't possible, how long would it take to gather this much TNT? Brilliant job Doc love this project.
Using a tnt grid it would take millions of tnt, easier to dig it manually. Edit: my simple estimate of how much tnt doc used is 8.4 million. If mojang where to add moveable tile entities, autocrafting and sand farms then a world eater without tnt dupers could be viable.
Well, it looks like it drops one TNT every block it moves forward, and the dupers look like they're 5 blocks wide (might be 6? Never made one and I'm eyeballing 😬), and Doc said he was clearing a 16 chunk border. If we assume it's 16 chunks to a side (and a chunk is 16*16 blocks)...the total spread should be ~256 blocks wide, so roughly 51 dupers (I'm just lumping the small border eaters in with the monster, and there's likely some slop in the edges so these are nowhere near exact numbers BUT). 51 dupers dropping one TNT each block along a 256 block path says 13,056 TNT drops *per pass*. Probably would choose a different biome/location if it was a manual thing to avoid wastage on hills and trees, so let's say sea level 62 to start of bedrock -60, 122 passes...that's 1,592,832 TNT? (More caveats: could probably get away with one or two fewer droppers and a few less blocks in pass length and maybe one or two passes in depth because of TNT breaking radius but honestly that is bordering on Too Much Math For This Early In The Morning territory now). I'd say not possible to get that much TNT but honestly SciCraft probably has figured out a way...
And of course, as fun as early morning math can be, the biggest caveat of all: currently you can't move droppers or hoppers, so a walking/flying/self propelled world eater using un-duped TNT just won't work, even if you could somehow gather enough TNT to fill it.
@@bsidethebox Gunpowder is easy given the amount of different fam you can use. The problem is sand, since it isnt renewable or farmable. And yes SciCraft found a solution to that problem, sand( or any other gravity block) dupping via endportal. ;P So I'd say without dupping a perimeter is not really feasible. BTE love your quick math, sounds about right
This was amazing to watch. The exposed Geodes, Dripstone, Mineshafts and the random wild Slimes were awesome to see as well. I also can't even imagine how many rockets must have been used to fly around the area for that long. Can't wait to see what designs get unleashed here.
This reminds me of when Mumbo toured SciCraft. Doc, you are so impressive! I’m so glad you’re on the server. I learn so much about Minecraft from you pushing the bounds of the game!
Instead of covering the whole floor with slabs, you should continue running the TNT-dupers for a bit and remove every block except the bedrock. Then you can fill the air gaps in the upper bedrock layer with black stained glass. That looks epic. For my small perimeters I did that manually, but at this size a floor placer should be faster.
i don´t think there is such thing as a floor placer. he wants it all slabbed. and only covering the top layer with glass that you mentioned.... does thiswork? couldn´t there be larger gaps below where mobs could spawn? i don´t know hoe the bedrock is structured there exactly

I really love the nerd talk of Doc and Mumbo about the World Eater xD
I just ran a World Eater of my own & enjoyed it immensely. Everyone should do this at least once
100% worth the effort
thanks Doc
Hi Doc! Two suggestions:
1) Don't dismantle the world eater, it looks cool!
2) Ilmango made a frosted ice platform maker back in 2020, you could use that to fill in the bedrock holes, this also improves the efficiency of any mob farm inside the perimeter.
Btw, your video made my day, I've been waiting the whole week for this!
+1
48:24 doc talking about rare blocks while completely negligent of the deepslate coal right under him! haha
Was coming to say the same thing, lol
That really triggered me!
I would love to see that time lapse in reverse. Building a mansion with a 3d printer type tool.
I'd say to save some of the diamonds for Etho as a souvenir for when he returns but we all know he'd just throw them into lava XD
I don't put it past etho to go:
"This stack of diamond blocks is very generous, but they all count as my first diamonds so ..."
*Tosses a stack of diamond blocks into lava making all witnesses cry*
And thats why we love him, a safer gift would definitely be bulk resources like iron, wood, and redstone stuff. (All un shulkers for him to keep)
And if i heard correctly in a previous episode doc wants to make a fun shulker farm like Etho's LP one (presumably as an original design) and not just make the most efficient farm this season.
Imagine how much Scar would die in a void hole that big...
Doc isn’t mind-blowing, he’s perimeter-blowing
You're gonna need a master slabber for that floor. You might even need an Etho slabber
Doc: "Do it. Build a perimeter."
Me: *cries in bedrock edition*
Atleast bedrock doesn't need perimeters anyway.
Me: cries in arcane mechanics, and wipes up tears with trident killers
World eaters exist for bedrock edition, don’t worry :)
(They are also much better as not every single function needs to be a full class to even run)
The problem is that bedrock gets treated like a red headed stepchild, one of the bugs with ancient cities was they copy pasted java redstone and didn't update it for bedrock mechanics turning the door into a noise maker.
I was having the most miserable day ever, but the minute I started watching this video I found myself grinning from ear to ear. Thanks for all the amazing stuff you do :)
Sending you a hug, hopefully tomorrow will be better for you from the getgo!
I hope the day got better.
Honestly, I think in mumbos vault we will find a sign saying "the friends we made along the way".

48:30 should have gotten that deep slate coal ore. That's super rare.
The perimeter walls look coolest now with the natural terrain dissection effect imo - I'd leave at least one wall like that, or maybe with a glass covering like a display case!
Agreed.. it's gonna look so much more boring if it's a giant, flat mural like most perimeters.

For the walls:
1 side: Fanart of a 10 year Hermitcraft picture "pixelated"
1 side: Whitespace for the hermits to "paint on"
1 side: to make it look nice when you look at your base
1 side: "Display" to show current storage with redstone or be lazy and use 2 sides for your base look&feel :P

Take a shot every time doc gets too close to the wall of boom.
A flying machine set at the correct height for doc to AFK on placing concrete powder might help in making the floor flat.
"The grind has just begun"
Absolutely insane work!
At least 4, I guess
It’s like a 3D printer, except instead of building it just eats up what’s there. Incredibly awesome.
have to play the video backwards...then its like a 3d printer :D :D :D
So more like a cnc mill?
I really hope the caves in the sides get covered in glass so you can see into them instead of covered by something else blocking the view.
This reminds me of when Mumbo toured SciCraft. Doc, you are so impressive! I’m so glad you’re on the server. I learn so much about Minecraft from you pushing the bounds of the game!
Throughout this entire episode I just felt like a kid with the biggest smile on his face. Thank you Doc for yet another amazing episode!

That would be cool and keep some of the effect the floor has now
i don´t think there is such thing as a floor placer. he wants it all slabbed.
and only covering the top layer with glass that you mentioned.... does thiswork? couldn´t there be larger gaps below where mobs could spawn? i don´t know hoe the bedrock is structured there exactly
