I just got a 97 Orvis just a week ago and comeing home with it i got the death wobble and i called the guy i got it from and he was nice enough to fix it.My drag link was bad with under 85k miles but it did fine when i test drove it.Even came with the factory window sticker.Love your vids you give us jeep folks the info we need.
Had no idea adjusting the steering wheel would be so easy! Thank you so much, this helped a bunch for a first timer dealing with Tie Rod Ends and all that set up.
thanks for all your videos from spain I have a 2.1 turbodiesel xj and your videos have been a great help for all the fixings that my car has needed. Thanks again!! great jobs and XJs bro!!!!!!!!
Will do. I luckily don't have the death wobble too bad just if I hit a bump like railroad tracks there is some movement in the wheel but it is only for a couple of seconds. But what I do have is a vibration that feels like it comes from the driver side front when I turn
I'm so glad I found you bc of your Super Bowl commercial... By the way it was hilarious!! Great tutorials... & I keep on learning something new everyday
you should have a castle nut where a cotter pin keeps the nut from spinning so no, grease is not a problem. or are you talking about the other threads?? either way, if its tight then grease isnt a problem... it will keep things from rusting too.
they are hard to spot sometimes. watch my death wobble videos for a better idea. Some symptoms include pretty much the same as death wobble symptoms... and the vids will show you how to visually inspect them.
Don't see why not. As long as you can reach and access the front end safely and you have a pickel fork and a small sledge or big hammer... then just follow the instruction in the vid. But for legal purposes... Don't try this at home!
Sorry I should of said I only bought the tie rod and drag link used with no ends. Got it used for $25 bucks so I wasnt complaining about it needing tie rod ends
So Im getting a lot of clanking and popping when turning and going over bumps, also some rattling vibrations at certain speeds. Im guessing I have bad Tie Rod ends?
love the videos ... but you seem so relaxed , do you ever fall asleep while doing things---- imean i wouldnt want to seee you get hurt, maybe you could drink some coffee
You have saved me so much money by showing me how to do things myself it isn't even funny. Thanks!

Thanks for the video and and the job is simpler than I thought. I think I should be able to do this now since I lifted my Jeep by myself too.

@Fuscoooo I threw it away long ago, I ran down the highway for years without it and had no problems.

must have been one heck of a nice guy to fix it for ya
great tips, thank you for your time. your video\knowledge really helped out. please continue to make more videos!
you'll need to get on rustys website or call and ask what part number ends you'll need.

Sweet, thanks for subbing, I appreciate it!
Question/idea for a video: how do you change tie rods from under steering nuckle to over ?
Fukkitt. I'm just getting me some of that fancy twine like he used there, and wrapping it up good as new.
Planning on doing this. Does it cure death wobble?
Nice tutorial.
thanks, i will
I would assume you need tie rod ends. Was it not suppose to come with tie rod ends?
I just bought a rusty's steering conversion but with no rod ends and wanted to know what I needed to buy to install
subbed u buddy thanks for the video
prolly have alot more work to do on my cherokee
Good vid. Thanks!
what are the symptoms of a bad tie rod end? is there a way to find out other than taking it all
apart?
Good Vids. Keep It Up!
what is your opinon on using 2" wheel spacers on an 90's xj for off orading & street use?
i personally dont like the look of tires sticking out that far. other than that it may give you some stability but thats about it.

you'll need to buy some sort of kit or fab something up yourself. this one involved reaming the knuckles out and cutting off the sway bar brackets.
Can you change out just a bushing??
that is hard to follow but yeah, this is a T setup, stock is a y setup.
Would bad tie rods ends cause a shake at 30mph ?
Sure, check out my death wobble videos too... but a shake is more likely a driveline issue like an unbalanced tire or driveshaft.
So on your steering setup it goes one outer tie rod end(driver wheel), two inner tie rods(drag link/passengerwheel) and the pitman arm rod end???????
will this fix the death wobble? and my steering wheel also has a lot of play, will replacing these fix it?
Nultari did u fix it already
E Robles no.but I fixed my wobble by getting a bolt for the steering stabilizer because it was detached
What steering setup is that?
maybe so, no way to tell from here. watch my 2 videos on death wobble and see if you can narrow it down
What's brand of tie rod and drag link set up is this?
What size pickle fork?
Thanks for the 411
No this is a real Jeep enthusiast goes out he muds he rides trails he beats the hell out of his Jeep but guess what he fixes it
I like your gloves...

matt what part number tie rod end did u use on the passenger side?
you used a wrench- not a breaker bar as you stated... and you said you torqued to a number, but you didn't
check out my death wobble video. at the beginning I go over all of these parts
