    great video...simplifies how to change it..ihave a 2.2 px1 ranger...can you put a second hand one from a 3,2 in it...i get the transmission light come but no engine light on...limp mode..not much noise though...revs dont get that high but can slowly gain speed...got the same code air flow prob and mechanic says intercooler leaking so causing the problem..do you think he is right...and any idea why the transmission warning comes on in a manual...look forward to your reply

      sounds like an intercooler or an intercooler hose, i've blown 2 plastic intercoolers so far before i went aluminium, a 3.2 intercooler will fit straight in, you should be able to see an oil stain on the intercooler fins where it's leaking, that will confirm it.

    That's a great score for 150 bucks. Is there any noticeable difference in day to day driving with the bigger intercooler. I know when I got my intercooler done a long time ago in my petrol 2.0l turbo it felt like it picked up heaps more torque and was wondering if its the same feeling with the diesel?

    • @abdautomotive
      @abdautomotive  2 года назад +2

      yes it picked up more torque, i think that's due to a better flowing core & lower intake temps.

      @@abdautomotive Thanks mate, I might go look for a second hand one like yourself.

    Hi, your video's are very helpful. I have 2015 ford ranger T6 and live in South Africa. When I drive over 140km/hour, my Ford goes into limp mode. I did change my Turbo, and my injectors were recently replaced. What else can it be, if you can help?

    Im in the process of switching out intercoolers at the moment. Like you I went with an intercooler that looks almost identical to the Forefront one (in that its considerably larger than the stock one). What I want to know is, were you able to get those black plastic side pieces back over the new intercooler? They were difficult to remove with the stock one, I'm not sure I'll be able to squeeze them back into place. Your video at 8:34 looks like you just skipped putting them back in. Was that the case?

    • @SigZA

      I have the same question. I tried removing mine, but it seems impossible without first removing the bumper. Also it doesn’t look like they will fit over an inter-cooler that is thicker than the stock one.

    • @vonlogan1
      @vonlogan1 2 месяца назад +2

      @@SigZAyeah I asked around and most people said they just tossed them. Not worth bothering. So that’s what I did. I also added a straight (careless) down pipe yesterday, before taking the truck in a 5 hour loop. Feels like a different truck. Especially when over taking on an incline.

    • @vonlogan1
      @vonlogan1 2 месяца назад +1

      @@SigZAyou don’t have to remove the bumper to get them out. But to might have to slightly bend them.
