Hi Lisa! I just got the IR clinical shampoo, conditioner and serum, and oil! I’ve used it 3 weeks now, washing my hair 1x a week. But each time, the mid-shaft and ends (where I use the conditioner) is super greasy…And I only use a little bit of conditioner. I’m curious what to do about that?
Also, do I use the oil and serum at the same time - overnight before wash? How often do I do an oil treatment? And do I used the serum just after a wash? Does it make hair greasy?
    Thanks!

Hi Fiona ~ I am wondering if you have product build up on your hair from what you were using. Monat is trying to remove all the waxes other products leave behind. My suggestion would be to shampoo 3 times and concentrate on your hair strands. Don't wad your hair up or put all on your head. That is too aggressive. Just work to get a good shampoo in the area you are experiencing greasy hair. You did not say greasy at roots, so I am guessing that is fine. Conditioner is very important and it does not make your hair greasy, so my best solution is shampoo more. Further, if you are wanting more growth, you should shampoo at least every 3 days. You want the nutrients on your scalp to feed the hair follicles. Shampooing 1 time a week is not enough to see significant results, in my opinion. Oil treatments should be done 1 to 2 times a month. Be sure to put oil on scalp and hair strands. Our oil does not make hair greasy. The serum is meant to be used 1 time a day. After you wash, put it on your wet scalp. The serum is meant to scalp only, not hair strands.

How often do you use the oil?

I generally do oil treatments 2 times a month and when I have something going on with my body like more hair loss, a cold or feel crummy or I can tell my hormones are out of whack, I double down and do oil treatments 1 to 2 times a week. When you have things going on in your body, it is most likely going to affect your scalp ... your hair. In my opinion, you can do oil treatments as often as you want.
