i had some of these (yidoblo) . was happy with them but got 4 points that i didnt like about them:
1: center of gravity, the mount is offcentered on the opposite side of the battery, so when you have a big NPF battery on it on a thin lightstand, the thing will hang to the side.
2: the power/mode buttons are the same and hard to see the difference, so its always a struggle to figure out which one to press and hold. ends up always being a faff
3: the main deal breaker to me, if you put the battery on it with the light switched off, it will drain a npf battery within a couple of days.
4: the 1/4 screw thread is too deep into the rubber base, meaning most 1/4 adapters/light stands wont go "deep enough" to reach the thread, the ones that have a screw ring, you basically have to remove that ring to be able to screw into it.
Also worth noting that NPF batteries are limited to 30W output (not 1 stop less), so if you want 100W out of this, you need to use a USBC to DC adapter (included) or the mains power supply.
For those reasons as ill use 99% of the time battery powered, I ended up prefering the ulanzi 40W (able to overclock to 50W) ones, as they do 50W from battery, theyhave built in battery and doesnt self drain in the case, plus they cost less than half of this (not to mention no need to buy sony batteries)
Thank you for sharing this…. Of course, with my luck, I hadn’t checked the comments until today when my light arrived…. I work in TV news so I’ll be trying it out as a key light with my reporter(s) backlight by the sun and see how that works, both, with an NP battery and with the power supply that’s included in the box!
Do you know the name of the app for the Yidoblo?

I just bought a smallrig adapter, mini bowens to bowens to use with that, but doens't fit, cuz the right grip in too deep.
Any solutions? The Zhiyun X100 adapter doens't look same mount...
By the way, the app (RGBLED) is terrible.

Does the Yidoblo ZC-100Bi stay on if go from battery to USB-C. As an example you are running it on a NPF battery and you plug in a USB-C power source to replace the NPF battery.
I am kind of invested in the Cobor ecosystem now. Their app works well, and it's nice to be able to control all the lights from a single app. I don't need the 100 right now, but if I traveled more I might consider it.

I purchased some Ulanzi mini Bowens modifiers for the Yidoblo zc100 but sadly they don’t fit mini Bowles. The ZC100 has a much smaller mount diameter. And much like yourself I’m curious to know if Zhiyun’s mini bowens would work.
You didn't show the light size comparison on the wall of the Yidobo. Is it the same as the x100 or different?

@@PixPete yes, it was the spread I was hoping to see. I actually prefer the soft spread of the colbor because it allows you to get a larger source of light :)

Is the reflector removable and are all mini Bowen’s mount accessories compatible? Interested in the Colbor and the Yidoblo but only if I can add a soft box or a snoot
Yes all these reflectors are removeable but not sure if the mini bowens is the same mini bowens as from Godox etc
How long does the np battery?
Can you please put the X100 reflector to Yidoblo and tell us if it fits? I 'm confused since some people say it's ZY mount, even on aliexpress page they show zhiyun accessories. I have the X100 but this one is way cheaper.
No they are exact opposites. Zhiyun notches point inwards and the Yidoblo pins point outwards

It’s funny Colbor is a knock off, I think of them as being more a major brand. Still love my CL60M it does the job for me.
Yea I really like their cl330 it's so lightweight for the power it gives but lately they're trying to imitate and not winning , one of their late models fries instantly when you plug wall power while having battery plugged in

The Colbor looks a lot more promising, yeah it's 1 stop less than the Zhiyun, but the wider the area and more affordability is more worth it. I will def look into these or the Yidoblo when I buy lights again! Might be soon I need to get the ball rolling!

They have their own proprietary mini bowens -type mount.

The one with the NP option is very cool. I still have my DJ miniburst 256 leds with NP. 10 plus years old, been through hell and back and still work like a charm.

Hi Markus could you do a light quality meter reading (R9 values, CCT accuracy, Green/magenta shift etc.) on these bare COB and with the reflector on? Curious to know which of them if any fare better in this regard.

I don't think np-f batteries can handle a 50w draw so it's unlikely they can power a light half as bright as an x100...
Also zhiyun x100's are about $170 (new, best offer) regularly on eBay, that's what I paid for a few of mine. I noticed they even had some for $130 for a while.
I think the Yidoblo would surprise you! There are products that boost power like this ruclips.net/video/OQBoIU96Ae0/видео.html so its possible the Yidoblo uses some of that technology.

side note, What about EDC Flashlights? There are even smaller & really powerful flashlights that may be adaptable for photography. color temperature would be the main drawback but may be another level of Micro setup
