@AlexBanzea I want to buy your Jobava course. When will it be available on Chessable? I tried clicking the link in this post but it didn't take me anywhere.
Can't wait for Your Jobava course, I've checked Niemman's, James Canty, Ginger GM courses on Jobava London, but I'm sure You gonna deliver best content. Don't stop making videos, I'm just stunned that Levy got more subs than You. Wooden spoon for his fans, we, Alex Banzea fans, know where's the good stuff!
I started with Levy but am here now, also i genuinly enjoy Levys content but he teaches and talks about chess in sometimes such a condecending way, maybe unintentionally, but like i dont wanna be told im dumb 50 times watching a video where im there to learn
Alex. You've seriously helped me with my chess. You teach very well and it's obvious you have done your research and have the experience. Please don't change a thing. And please, repeated videos on specific openings do NOT get old because we get to see the same things over but with subtle variations and this is important to learners such as I. Even simple things like encouraging us to double our pawns when necessary because there can be advantages. I'd be scared to never do that because it looks awful. So thank you. And the pawn storm has really improved my win rate. Thank you!
just wanted to say what a great job you do on instructing as you play. just found your channel today and thoroughly enjoying going through your lessons. Thanks!!!
I main english but was not able to cross the 1000 barrier, decided to binge watch your jobava london series and fuck it apply it to a 910 ish ELO game and it work so fine since most of the lines are opening theory, now im in 1100 with 78% winrate on jobava but I always struggle on endgame, thanks for the teaching alex!
I tried to trick a police officer with donuts and am currently serving 6 months for attempting to bribe a police officer. This will give me plenty of opportunity to learn the jobava London.
@MCoTEDDY This is correct. Your opponents are playing vastly more poorly than 1900's. 1900 is the top 2% of all players. You're not even really playing chess until about 1400. Sub-1000 can't even look one move deep reliably, let alone 6-10.
Watching chess videos while on vacation and drinking wine… people look weird at me why I watch chess 😂 I understand every move he played, but when it comes to my games opponents always play something so different and I lose on time 😂
I realize that playing the Jobava can be considered a war crime. But Alex has placed the Caro into the same category, an opening I once considered a most probable loss for black. Great teacher.
I have this book by Jetemy Sillman called "How to Reassess Your Chess" 4th edition. It's about imbalances. Great read. He is always highlighting the backward knight moves you play, highlight, and talk about. Master the imbalances and play chess like a master.
Great chess instruction, at least for an intermediate wood-pusher like myself. Logical planning and logical candidate moves focusing on essentials in the position and how they lead forward. Going for tactics sometimes, but always taking care to improve the position.... finding those non-obvious best defenses to your attack (instead of like patzers everywhere, seeing that the opponent's most obvious defensive move sucks and stopping there because all his other defensive resources must be worse, right?) but without too much of that detailed over-calculating that my poor brain won't do (or I lose every game on time) ...but you obviously spot underlying tactics quickly and explain them. Just great instruction in that sweet spot in between truly high level chess and beginner stuff... that place where most committed amateurs like myself live.
42:32 what do you do if they move the knight to b4 instead of the bishop? I get this a lot and I'm never sure if I could let them capture the Bishop on d3 or not. It seems the computer says to let them just take it. Sometimes it says take with the c2 pawn other times it says take with the queen. I usually take with the queen.
Weak players often tend to play more cautiously and not try aggressive moves, especially when it involves losing (or just weakening) a pawn. One needs to learn how to exploit passive play.
It was possible, but I didn't want to allow complications after the ...Qb4 double attack. I spent a bit of time cause I felt like we should still be good, but wanted to keep it very simple
Man the Jobava course edging is real... Btw would love to have some sort of complete repertoire with white, are you gonna cover transpositions to other openings in the course (not complete courses but just the names of the different openings that are transposed)?
Alex you are simply to good. when I watch your videos, I understand, in most cases catch things, but then I play, there is no way near 90% for longer games, it could be around 90% if opp blundering at start and game quickly ends. but in generally 70-80%, if losing 60-70%. and I would say in 70% games I am out of opening knowledge on move 1 to 5.
Hi Alex, thank you for you content, I want to ask you make videos only for certain variation, for example make a video with 4 games with pawn storm, or 4 games with the variation the black goes with c5 attacking the pawn on d4
Hey Alex thank you for the video…learnt a lot although i’m primarily a d4c4 player but i struggle with the dutch so do you think the jobava is better against the dutch and i should switch to it once f5 is played on move 2? and if yes is it covered in your course?
For the love of god, I hope and pray that our boy Mr. Banzea chooses a spicy aggressive opening against the KID/fianchetto structures in his upcoming course and not something calm like in the regular London course.
Hey Alex, Suggestion for the Jobava course: Please have all these games with the different motifs and traps in the course with the analysis. You've already done the videos anyway so it shouldnt be a big hustle. I noticed that the biggest problem at my level with the courses ive bought is that i cant easily translate the course material into my games. And the courses have like 5 sample games when the course has more than 40 lines in the study. Thanks!!
Whats the advantage of having the knight on c3 compared to normal london system? apart from the mirrored fried liver, because 90% of opponents see it coming and play either a6 or Ka6 to prevent it.
Not 'having my opponent played', but 'had he played': think 'if he had played', not 'if he having played' (anterior). Know that I and all your public have the highest respect for what you do.
I just won a tournament game with the queen to e8 in the kings indian defense against a higher rated opponent, got to say thanks. Ill learn your jovaba london as a way of saying thanks. cheers.
Bro you are the best , way better than Levy and the rest! Love this java system but i feel like the CC sucks horribly..seems like white always has a better position from the opening in tournament play if Black does not find the absolute best moves to play!.. thanks 1900-2000 ratings
I have never watched any chess guides and just casually play the game but 16 minutes in this is such an amazing video. So many tactics abuse, pawn pushing by opponent opening files for knight to move into etc Im 1700 but the 'pause the video' is such a fun exercise. Thank you. Cant really explain but love the vid bro

I really don't like this line without playing 4. Nb5, same suggestion that Canty has done

Damn bro, you're on fire recently! So many videos!
Ah, my favorite opening: the banzea london
On min 20:20 before playing f3, couldnt u play queen h5 threatning queen b6 check that basically has no defence?
Then what? You are too zoned in on the enemy king instead of targeting the real weakness (isolated pawn on the a-file)
Why do my opponents below 700 elo never play as weak as your ones that are higher rated against the jobava london ???
Because you don't play as solid as an IM, make a big blunder by move 8 and then proceed to lose the game.
@MCoTEDDY This is correct. Your opponents are playing vastly more poorly than 1900's. 1900 is the top 2% of all players. You're not even really playing chess until about 1400. Sub-1000 can't even look one move deep reliably, let alone 6-10.

I might be missing something, but @ 45:19 couldnt we force mate by moving Qh5 instead of Qd3??
or win a queen
that was better yes, but I wanted to highlight the additional theme for this line that the c3-bishop could become a target
Was about to check this on an analysis before before I seen this comment. Thanks!
At move 18.Nc1 could not !8.f3 be played with the idea 18...Nf6 19.Rc5 picking up the c6 pawn next? Two pawns up
At 45.15 The Greek gift is explained but only Qd3 and recovering the Bishop is considered. White has an elementary mate starting with Qh5 etc

Lmaoo "The Juicy Dark Squares" are too good.
What determines when we castle on the king side or queen side in the Jobava
castle queenside only in the pawn storm

Incredible. Game 2 is SO instructive. 1200 rapid jobava player for context.
Satisfactory.
Brilliant choice in word.
Elo’s getting real juicy on this current rating climb! Excited to dig in
Say "boa constrictor." "Boa snake" isn't a common usage for English speakers.
I've heard Alex say 'boa snake' a dozen times and every time I wasn't sure what he meant. Boa constrictor is 100% spot on.
Boa snake is the way to name it. 🧐☝️
That's pretty nitpicky for someone for whom English isn't their native language.
45:20 why not queen h5 isn't it trades queen for knight?
3:08 the exchange tension between the bishop is high
Hi, Alex. Will your upcoming course be available on Chessable?
Haha that face at beginning of game 3 "Okaaay we can go for the Jobava London"
Jovaba is not an opening. It’s a lifestyle. (Sponsored message by Big Jovaba)
I dont understand how an 1800 pushes a B pawn down the board so carelessly. Why can't i find this idiocy at 650?
650 are just better! Confirm
Weak players often tend to play more cautiously and not try aggressive moves, especially when it involves losing (or just weakening) a pawn. One needs to learn how to exploit passive play.
