    When you look back on this video, it's actually very impressive to see Angus host this program and remain so smooth and keep his usual presenting manner. How many other people could do that? In my opinion it does more to cement him as an extraordinarily talented presenter.
    My father cheated on my mother for a number of years and I hated him for it, so I have no desire to defend infidelity, but the hypocritical viciousness with which Merton and Hislop went after Deayton while they've both left alone other targets guilty of much worse crimes, and the sheer, bitter, personal venom that Merton clearly has for Deayton are both very very distasteful.

    • @JJE990
      @JJE990 3 года назад +44

      I think Merton was friends with his wife who was gravely ill at the time, so it was slightly more personal for him. Not condoning it, whilst amusing and Angus took it well, it is somewhat difficult to watch because you can only imagine how it felt.

      +Adam Pardoe I understand and largely agree, spotless record, not so sure, but in any event to me it shows up the petty mindedness and heavily over-rated wit abilities of the sainted Paul Merton in not being able to move on (after a sensible period of putting Deayton through the wringer, which incidentally gives him Kudos when taking the P out of others. I mean, we had that witch Mrs Hamilton joining the band wagon as if her disgraced former tory MP husband was somehow no longer a bad man because a media levy was a dick. Not the same thing at all, yet the saville loving BBC thought maybe it was. Talk about poor judgement.)
      As for more and more being exposed, it would come to an end. Its not like he killed anyone - and even working through the karma sutra is finite. Probably interesting.
