It was the crescendo of the game where everything peaked and made you feel like an actual hero in a world where everyone had lost hope. Hands down the best mission.
If you havent climbed the VNC Tower of Dying Light 2 you have missed something... One of the most intense missions I have played... Graphics so good they correctly present the altitude....
Rais'Tower mission where you can feel the anger of Crane to finish off Rais once and for all. VNC tower mission where you feel the adrenaline and sense of heroism on your shoulders. Putting zombies aside... Climbing and parkoring are top features.
I love this mission so much, DL2 is so worth it. The music as you climb the tower makes you feel so powerful, especially with Frank's encouragement the higher you go.
One thing I liked about this game was that you know that Aiden would've not made it several times if it weren't for people sacrificing their lives for him. Anderson does so when she gives Aiden the UV inhalers and ends up turning herself, ultimately sacrificing herself for Aiden. Rowe obviously sacrificed himself for Aiden as well. Many other games just show the protagonist having uncanny plot armor abilities in which they don't need other people to make it. In this game, we see several instances where Aiden was clearly fucked without someone else's help and sacrifice.
@@saileshsingh9374if you got aitor instead of the going in the motel later you go through the tunnel and the woman in the pk in old villedor turns because she gave the last booster to aiden
This mission is actually very symbolic to Aiden's character and to his purpose to the point where it is arguably the most important mission in the game. Not only does it show that he is extremely strong minded, determined and courageous. But the VNC tower itself is a symbol for the challenges and struggles he must face in order to find his missing sister Mia. As for Aiden climbing the VNC tower, this symbolizes the theme of heroism and how he is willing to overcome any challenge in his way. The VNC tower previously was a symbol for the downfall of heroism, as many years ago most of the night runners were killed inside there by volatiles. However, as Aiden climbs to the top of the VNC tower, this symbolizes the rise of heroism and when Aiden reaches the top where he switch's the power back on, this symbolizes the resurrection of heroism and the restore of hope. Aiden represents a stoic attitude and has a growth mindset were he fully believes he can accomplish anything. This is why he is the only person to have ever climbed from the bottom, to the very top of the VNC tower and live to tell the tale. It is also what makes Aiden extremely high value as he is able to do what most people cannot do, if climbing the VNC tower was easy and if everyone was able to do it, then most people would not care and therefore the value of climbing it would decrease. But the rarity of being able to climb all the way to the top of the VNC tower and survive is what makes him a valuable man. In other words, in life, remember that if it was easy everyone would do it. This obviously explains why Frank is extremely shocked and surprised by Aiden's action of climbing all the way to the top of the VNC tower. Aiden climbing the VNC tower to the very top is also a metaphor for life. In life we can be at the bottom of the VNC tower among all the infected in which we are lazy, full of excuses and not achieving greatness, or we can only attempt to progress in life where we give up on our dreams in which we are stuck half way inside the VNC tower, just like the dead night runners, just like the infected inside the VNC tower and just like Frank. Or, we can be like Aiden, were we climb and overcome our challenges in order to achieve greatness and to achieve our dreams because in life we know it will be worth it. We do this not because it's easy, but because we should strive to be better and greater such as being be self confident, strong minded, determined, courageous, stoic and full of self belief, just like Aiden, this is what makes a winner. Furthermore, after the downfall of the night runners, Frank has conditioned himself to have a weak mindset where he accepted his failure to define him as a man. On the other hand, Aiden refuses to be stuck in life, he refuses to be weak and despite him having a depressing childhood where he was experimented on as a child, he still gets what he wants in life. This is how Aiden inspires and disciplines Frank into him breaking free from his weak mindset in which Frank gets back up and goes back to being the leader he was. This is also how Aiden is able to constantly progress in finding his missing sister Mia and this is how he is able to restore characters together (I understand though this can depend on your in game decisions). Aiden does all of this for the purpose of helping the people of Villedor while seeking answers to his past life. This is what makes him the hero and an unbelievably legendary protagonist.
@@blobby542 Ahaha, yeah sorry for the information overload. Yes I do love the game, but the truth is I have only done one playthrough. For me it's more about learning the moral of the story and finding the meaning behind it.
Thanks for that! I start a new job soon and it's more in line with what I'm interested in but less pay (initially) and in a completely different field. This has helped me feel more positive. Be more like Aidan. Thanks for the post (even if it is long 😂)
This mission is a masterpiece. I will remember this as one of my best gaming experience. Not even Elden Ring or PC Spiderman has given me this feeling. Tension, emotion, intensity, climax, horror and crazy parkour at end. Possibly toke a year for Developer to design this part itself.
Don't get me wrong its still good music, but they keep using the same melody from "Run, Jump, Hide", "The Mark" and "Mia" and it results in the music sounding very repetitive.
Something I learned through this game is that being selfless gets you nowhere. Every time you make the choice that benefits others more you are no closer to finding mia
Rowes sacrifice and death of whole 404 squad is saddest thing for me in DL2. And I played on Survivors side. A side quest to find the rest of 404 dogtags is very little consolation but very welcome addition. Btw by far the best mission in DL2.
I personally really enjoyed the game from a fresh view after a year and a few months. I also liked the DLC. Fun minigames, and a kinda satisfying trophy room to fill.
Watched this because I got the dialogue glitch. It skipped Rowe's and Frank's dialogue on me. I stopped there and quit the game hoping it will put me back on the roof (after getting the grappling hook). I'll check later. Only fix I've found for the glitch is to quit the game entirely after you hopefully get an autosave.
Where my Aliens fans at? I loved this mission but the easter egg of Heecks, Wierzbaski, and Hudson was great. Heecks of course is changed from Hicks, but otherwise I loved it.
There’s a crate on top of the building you find rowe in but I can’t seem to make the jump. You have to climb and make it to this room across but from what it seems you need to jump the gap but I can’t. Do you know what I’m talking about?
Never mind just realized that I was trying to get to the crate too early LMAO ended up giving up trying to either climb up there or jump/wall run to it and realized you get the grap hook and just hook across
If you're stuck after the swing in part just run straight but if you're stuck before/on the swinging part, here's what you need to do -> Look up when you reach the dead end (8:33) -> Look up and you'll see an object you can grapple onto (8:36) -> Swing to the other side of the building and then land on the platform/hold on to the ledge(8:37) -> Now go according to the first sentence That does it I'm not good with explanations but I hope this was helpful
I seem to lose all my stamina when swinging and then jumping to the indented wall ladders?? As soon as I let go of the swing rope all my stamina drains away and I fall back down?? Does anyone else have this problem as it has completely ruined the game as I cannot progress any further after multiple attempts?

Is anybody else struggling with swinging and jumping from the rope in this game on ps5 or ps4? Even before I got the grappling hook every time I’d be jumping to a rope to swing across I’d find myself pressing r1 to jump off the rope at the right time when swinging on the rope and every single time it wouldn’t jump untill I was already swinging all the way back almost . Very frustrating I’ve died so many times from that and now I’m finding it’s the same crap with the grappling hook . Anybody have any thoughts on this please n ty
Yea Coming across this right now. Kept pressing R1 to jump but won’t jump when on grapple hook. I am on ps5. Been trying for an hour so frustrating. I think there’s a glitch.
I took a look around online and I couldn't find it either. I like the mission and all but i hated the fact that i had to give tower to frank in order to get a good ending like he was bitching and demean me and as soon as ive reached top of tower changes his whole attitude.
You've to view it from Frank's perspective, he lost all his friends there. He couldn't possibly believe someone with very little experience compared to the night Runners can climb it. Also peacekeepers are mostly assholes even Matt who would have showed his true colours later on. The only good PKs died in the tower(Rowe and his team) and arguably aitor. So it's actually logical to give it to Frank, since Frank actually wants to save your life regardless, whereas for Matt you were just an expendable unit, just like Rowe and his team
By far the best mission in DL2, the music, the purpose of the climb, the feeling of heroism and hope is so amazing! Well done Techland!
