@@plus7150 of course I did.. that's why I'm angry. I played the BETA and yes the servers have been down more than up and yes the patches have took their toll on my internet.. but I've enjoyed the time I've played, but to put your game on sale 10 days after it launched is a fucking disgrace.
@@plus7150 I'm very much having fun with it :) and that's the only reason my comments are as calm as they are. But it's fine to be critical of something you're enjoying.
Your first comment "from the very first moment that Fallout 76 was revealed, the lies began..." is even more profound when you realize that the presentation is shown on a freaking ultra-wide-screen and Fallout 76 isn't even supporting that. Just lol.
@@spiritofthewolf1880 in some cases they are. Something to point and laugh at with your friends in other games. But usually its subtle physics or graphical bugs. With bethesda bugs they are usually game breaking.
nfsfanAndrew Honestly, I think you could have a Bethesda game on Unreal Engine and still have bugs as an actual feature. Make them like cheats in Rage or, hell, like many cheat menus in games from the mid 90s and early 2000s. Want an engaging, lore-friendly experience? Leave them off. Want to have a good laugh? Turn some on and watch the chaos ensue.
While being a MTX-ridden shit-show of a game, Destiny 2 does have one thing up on Fallout 76, the core mechanics of the game do work. It is an FPS and it plays like one (Hell, never thought i'd be giving props to Destiny 2, but hey, its a funny world sometimes!)
@@RockRedGenesis you're out of the loop af if you think theres a problem with micro transactions in d2. The games in the best state it's ever been and Activision released a statement about how they were displeased with the lack of motivation for microtransactions since the game is fulfilling without spending extra cash
Small tidbit of info: In fallout 4: far harbor, they added a lever action rifle. This rifle had a reload bug, in which, no matter how many bullets you shot, it would reload a full magazine worth regardless. This never got fixed. Fast forward to 2018, the lever action rifle returns in fallout 76, and it has the SAME exact reloading bug. I know we use the term copy-paste loosely here, but.. That is very much nothing more than a copy-paste without a care ounce of consideration for refinement.
You should mention it has an internal Magazine like a pimp Action shotgun where Yup can Top off Rounds/cartridges/Shells One by One. Aaaaaand Fallout 76 has an all new pump Action shotgun with a scripted reload, so you actually reload only the amount you fired, so they could have (probaby) copy&pasted that over to the lever action rifle, if they would have cared!!!
Ive got a feeling that Bethesda didnt release on steam, because they KNEW how shit it was, and didn't want steam to give refunds like they did with no mans sky.
The video would be just perfect if you also include the fact that Bethesda started that #SavePlayerOne trend during that Battlefront2 embargo voicing their support for narrative singleplayer experience then announce this broken mess online-only multiplayer with overpriced microtransaction. Congratulations Bethesda, you played yourself.
Also that campaign was spearheaded not just to spite EA but I think as a response to the popularity of The Witcher 3 and reaction to FO4, instead of coming back saying "we are the masters of the RPG, don't you forget it" they completely abandoned it and released this Multiplayer shit
So they come out with like a dozen single player only games, and only one multiplayer game, and somehow that wipes out all the single player games that they have made and are making? That logic is retarded. It is ONE game, get over it. Even if that one game is shit, they are still 95% single player.
I seriously wonder if them knowing the game is garbage is the whole reason it's not on steam. Can't have "overwhelmingly negative" if there's no review system and the game's not there....
Yes and no. The steam release will come when the game is finished. They'll announce a huge update, a steam release, and a sale price. At the same time, atoms will be harder to get and skins harder to earn.
Steam has a refund policy. They must have known their game was going to suck, as you can tell that very little effort and money was put into this game. A team of six moders could have build a better game in the same time frame. Most people would return this game if possible, I know I would.
Every game is _somebody's_ first. There's always someone new and inexperienced, yet to learn the difference between what is good and bad, and with standards very easily met. And there's always those with just plain awful taste as the continued sales of Ubisoft games proves. >__>
@@planescaped Do you believe these kids whose "first game was fallout 76" came here and downvoted this video? Lagos Etrusco I wanted coop like Borderlands. Not a huge map with 24 players to phaf about in where the only npc interaction you’ll ever get is buying stuff, doing WoW level questing for and killing them.
Along with nearly all the old Game Devs, they're all gone now. It's really kind of sad but the late-00s gaming boom really killed off most of the industry. Now instead of that golden period where we were getting new exciting IPs we're left with the same 3-4 games on repeat and one every now and again emerging. I can only hope companies like CDPR stick to their principles and never compromise their projects like so many others did.
Blizzard, EA, Bethesda and many others just screwed their playerbase. And they do this together, making shit the only product offered by everyone, so we have no choice.
That is perfectly fine. Not every game is for everyone, and I'm glad you're not convincing yourself to buy a game you don't enjoy just because it shares a title with other much different games that you like. We need more people in the world with this kind of attitude. 😊
Phillip Cameron that is not true as enjoyment is subjective making your interpretation not factual. If you are a fan you have a preference of enjoyment for a brand.

Anyone else come back to this video every few months when they're in a bad mood and have their spirits uplifted just listening to Ralph shit on this trash fire of a game? I do.
Thought of this after the starfield teaser today. People all excited about "creation engine 2" . I remember getting Skyrim from a midnight launch at GameStop, I was so hyped from Morrowind and Oblivion. Now? Bethesda games are a hard pass or wait for reviews.
I still haven’t played this game and probably never will. It’s an absolute insult and I don’t know how gamers eat this shit. Starfield? How are people excited? I just can’t understand it. Low standards and lack of self respect?
I just remember the E3 and the whole time he was talking I was thinking" this guy thinks hes fucking jesus" that was another point that made me skeptical for the game cuz no one should be that damn arrogantly confident of their product ever
@@ludowic8187 Well ok, "bad" is subjective. It is absolutely comical balance wise, but you cannot deny it was decently fun. Note: this is for F04 NOT FALLOUT76 that one is shit
@@ZanderTheUnthonkable well if bad is subjective then fallout 76 isn't bad lmao. Fallout 4 absolutely was not fun, it was a repetitive chore that's good for like twenty hours, maybe. That's not acceptable for a fallout game. How everyone feels about 76 is how actual fallout fans felt about 4. Shit was absolute trash. I mean fuck, from the lobotomised direction of 4 I really don't understand what anyone was expecting. Sure, this game is a spectacular mess on a technical level, but the biggest problem people are talking about is how gameplay and features have been arbitrarily removed to casualize the gameplay to appeal to everyone. I'm sitting here like, "ugh yeah, you guys literally sucked 4's cock relentlessly for doing the exact same thing, then called me a blind fan boy who can't look past nostalgia for criticizing it". You fucking morons only hate the things you're told are bad. Otherwise fallout 4 would have been similarly lauded as an absolute failure of an RPG and fallout game.
@@laughsquad007 Oh yeah i mean trust me, as a fallout fan myself i agree if you were into fallout games for the story FO4 was shit. But if you were just playing casually, it wasn't that bad. HHowever the objections to fallout76 aren't subjective, they are objective. The engine IS bad, thats undeniable. The gameplay IS unoptimized, thats undeniable. The carry weight IS way too low, thats arguable, but pretty much undeniable. There is plenty of solid reasons fallout76 is trash, and there is with every game, but more with 76 than any other game i've seen save maybe battlefront 2. But fallout4 at least was fun for casual players, and its not like they have deleted the other games lf the series, and all those games stil have a cult following of modders. The issue you and other "real fallout fans" NEED TO COME TO TERMS WITH is that put simply we are a dying breed. More people who play video games nowadays never played new vegas, or fo3, or any of those classic fallouts. For many people, if not most interested in FO76 FO4 IS fallout to them. So put simply, you can't use the excuse "not a game for real fallout fans" because what makes any game less "real" than others? Ok sorry carry on, im just sick and tired of entitled "real fallout fans" being on high horses
@@ZanderTheUnthonkable The problem is without story, characters and roleplaying fallout becomes not fucking fallout. The direction 4 was headed exactly foretold this shit. 76 is to 4 what 4 was to 3/NV. A needless step back.
Please...at least try to comment with an inkling of reasoning. Anyone would have loved a game like Fallout 76, between 2000 and 2006. I can say that although I despise lazy game design such as Fallout 76.
They're now banning players that create tools for the community and investigate/report exploits... I genuinely don't know what Bethesda wants at this point.
As software developer, I feel bad for the programmers at Bethesda Austin. They will definitely be on the receiving end of a bunch of hate but given that they were given a timeline that was worse than New Vegas to build this game and to add network support to this engine I don't feel they deserve it. Adding network support to an single player engine is not a simple task. I've also heard rumors that they lost some of their more experienced developers early in the project, if true that's brutal. Netcode and refactoring a entangled single player engine into a client server model is one of the hardest things to do in game programming. SquareEnix had to try twice to get it right for FF14 and still there are issues that crop up because of it from time to time and they had years to do it and a ton of money and resources and experience. Bethesda Austin had none of those things. All that said, I have little sympathy for the high level management who decided to go forward with the play despite how under-cooked and unrealistic the situation was.
In my head I imagine their codebase as being something like that illustration of Mr. Burns' "three stooges syndrome", where he has so many diseases that none of them winds up taking effect. But with the slightest breeze, aka slapping in Multiplayer, all the shit hits the fan. 20 years of spaghetti-laden legacy code can't be easy to rework from local-only to networked.
'Programmers' ie, the three people they have put polish on a SEVERELY dated engine that should have been retired a decade ago. Fans have kept Bethesda afloat through modding out the shortcomings in their design but that cannot last.
Interesting review with brutal honest observations. Maybe there should not be more efforts to develop a quasi-standard on rating games for level of completeness, and/or on level of quality and play-ability given the current state of technology and based on the targeted hardware platforms. A quasi-standard if written well, could help developers, consumers, and hardware manufactures in trying to hit certain goals, and expectations.
Nepu-Tech USA Doesn’t mean that they’d butcher it. Outer Worlds was in creation while the process was going on so more than likely if Obsidian ever did get back the right speaking hypothetically most of the originally devs would be right behind it. Even so they deserve to have it back. Bethesda just wants to liquidate it at this point and they’re destroying what used to be a remarkable series.
@CrimsonRyder yah especially since there are reports saying star field will run on the exact same dinosaur of an engine as fallout 76. FUCK STAR FIELD in looking forward to the outer worlds
The irony that they showed off Fallout 76 on an ultra-ultrawide display for E3, while not supporting 21:9 in the actual game is not lost on me. Great review, SkillUp. Covered all the points why we shouldn't support this level of mistreatment to their audience.
@Indigo Gaming - I'm surprised they support, 16:9 if I'm honest, dude. Seems to advanced for a Creation Engine game, I mean, modders fix 90% of bugs/issues in the damn things.

To be honest, at this point I expect Elder Scrolls 6 to go like this: You wake up locked in a dungeon... You need to escape. There is uproar nearby. your cell door gets damaged in a huge magical explosion. You walk out. As you escape the falling debree a woman catches you by the arm. "Come with me!" she says "There is much we need to discuss". You follow her into her lair. On the darkest dungeon there is a fountain there. The surface of the fountain is clear but it doesn't seem to be reflecting its surroundings. You have a hard time seeing what is being shown to you. "Move closer" she says, "your destiny will be revealed!". As you start approaching the fountain you can see some details... Tall mountains... Pine trees. Lots of people talking in what appears to be a horse cart. As you touch the surface of the water, you are pulled inside of the Fountain! You wake up. You are in a Cart hands tied up. Some asks you what did they get you for as you are taken to a city to be executed. The captions appear "Elder Scrolls 6... It's actually Skyrim again suckers!!"
It's been 10 days since the game released. In that time we've had 2 50gb patches and 4 server downtimes all hitting in the evening (UK) so for 6 of those 10 days I've been unable to play because downloading or servers been down.. I'm just curious but didn't you watch his previous Fallout 76 video? Shouldn't that have been the wake up call for you? Why did you buy it anyway, did you really think they could've fixed these major bugs in such a short time? I get that people really love the Fallout Franchise but this is such a huge pile of shit and you were able to smell that miles before it was released... I'm once again disappointed in so many blinded and naive Gamers who bought this game. It's just sad.
Their idea of difficulty is to create bullet sponge enemies. The only difference between a level 1 and level 70 enemy is the amount of ammo you need. There's no variety to enemies either in AI terms or behaviour - they all just crowd around you and melee, the only diference between a Mirelurk and a Scorched is the name and the model. Given the poor gunplay and targetting mechanics coupled with broken VATS, with the hassle of repairing, maintaining guns and ammo even the highest level players have all but given up on ranged weapons and use melee.

No joke, I got bored of the game just by watching 24 mins of your gameplay fotage. It looked exactly the same no matter where I skipped to. Enemys looked the same. Either they took 1 hit or fcking 300 mags. Like dude. 7 Days to die is a better game and that shit's in alpha since forever man. That the update to help anything also I still have crashes and freeze issues. The only people that could save this is the modding community.
Daniel Keep in mind that it is still in development so maybe the engine will be changed and delay the game. I don’t want delay but if it improves the game (RDR2) then I’ll gladly take it
It'll all be the same heap of a game. The designed just collect their paycheck and do what the suits tell them to. Its turned into another one of those companies where the shareholders are who you appease and the customers get shafted. Wait for dx11 to come out for planetside 2 and stop wasting time with these games.
Apparently not for a year. I'll check back in 12 months when this PoS hits $10 on Steam...oh...wait. It won't. The warning flags went up as soon as online services was mentioned in combination with the Creation engine. You KNEW this wasn't going to end well...and here we are. This isn't a AAA game. It's a $10 expansion at best.
Not on consoles they aren't. I'm aware that FO76 is so closely related to FO4 that most mods will work...unofficially...on the PC. You trust Bethesda not to play games with this feature? Seriously? They haven't exactly covered themselves with glory by catering to the community that plays their games. Quite the opposite. And it's still a $10 expansion, nothing more.
The problem with Bethesda is that they refuse to sit down, pause production and give the creation engine an overhaul. I don't mean bolting new lighting matrix's or crap like that. I mean sitting down, taking the engine back to base code and fixing/updating it. They had the perfect chance to after Skyrim; sure it would have delayed FO4 but it would have been VERY much worth it.
nice use of "an" bro.. most people would've said a AAA game and that would've been 4 a's in a row but you used the n and broke that shit up, well done.
Well there actually are AAA betas still. If a beta comes out 2-3 months before release then that's enough time to fix shit. But I've never seen a company release a beta a fucking week before the game releases and then see people saying "it's just a beta" like are you serious? A week before it's release and you think this shit is a beta? People are stupid.
@The reality you fear a beta will always be identical to the finished product theyre not trying to make a whole new game from beta to freaking release. The point of a beta is to iron out any bugs and stress test the servers which a lot of companies succeed in doing, Bethesda on the other hand is not one of those companies.
The worst part is that they're actually capable of producing games that are relatively bug free and perform well. Like Elder Scrolls Online. Now I know you might say that "ESO is Zenimax" but guys... Bethesda *is* Zenimax. They are everything Zenimax. So it's not even that they can't fix the bugs, or don't have the ability to. They just won't. They consciously refuse.
Wrong, it's *Zenimax Online* a completely autonomous studio. Bethesda is a studio under Bethesda Softworks (the publisher) and Zenimax Online is another studio under BethSoft. All of these companies are under the parent company Zenimax (not Zenimax Online) which are a distributor.
I feel like Bethesda should just fire all their staff then: 1) re-hire the writers from Morrowind, along with the better and more involved writers who've worked with them. (maybe Amy Hennig too) 2) Hire the folks who are making the best mods for Oblivion and Skyrim as new mission designers, coders and scripters (Skywind, Skyblivion, Morrowblivion, the other expansion sized mods). 3) Hire the folks who have been doing the "Unofficial Elder Scrolls Patch" and improved UI series of mods.
Buddy, i want you to know that nearly all of my peers were shilling this game to me and your review was one of the many i watched that criticized the game prior to its launch. I didn't buy it and i'm so happy i listened to the people with some integrity and sense.
In the 80s/90s finance sector, stock brokers became infamous for their culture of greed, dishonesty, manipulation and general immorality, a similar culture infected the tech industry, and now I think we are seeing that same sort of culture germinating in the gaming industry. It's particularly sad that an art form so many people have found so much meaning and real value in, over decades, is being molested, violated and degraded by soulless money men like Todd Howard.
@@10aDowningStreet TBH, I think Todd is being forced. My conspiracy theory, is that he is purposefully making it shit, but not shit enough, so that it will seem like a bad idea and let them be themselves again.
@@10aDowningStreet great comparison, it's the exact same thing. One thing people seem to forget when shilling AAA games is that their parent companies are made up of people who don't give a single shit about gaming at all. It's all old money. Loaded fat old men who only think of how much profit they can make by the end of the month, and they're the real shot callersm not the devs or in this case, Todd.
I just do not appreciate Bethesda's argument that "our people know it". You have to adapt to the changing times. You cannot use Gamebryo forever. You can update it and change it but you cannot hang onto it because you refuse to learn something new. That's just asinine.
Yup when i heard that they are going to use this old buggy engine for future projects togheter with the mess that is Fallout 76 has completley killed any hype i had for Elder scrolls 6. This year has killed of Blizzard and Bethesda as great game makers in my eyes. While there still are a few truly passionate game studios out there i sure hope a few new ones pop up soon cause the last few years have really killed off alot of the good ones.
Okay guys, Creation Engine exists in several forms. Fallout 3 was created on the creation engine after bethesda acquired the rights, but the creation engine was used for Oblivion prior. Skyrim is on the creation engine. It's just what they call their engines, like seriously, you're trying to turn water into wine-y little bitch.
They were able to make a great series out of TES, but after seeing F76, you have reason to be worried. If they continue to use the same engine, they'll lose the whole community towards any game from here on.
it doesn't bode well man, I think they've long lost touch with the customer and are about to do a wyatt cheng (blizzard) on the bethesda crowd. I feel they peaked as a company with skyrim, and that's as far as they go. so far every title since then has been on the decline. I have a faint hope that the reason these titles suck is because all the rock stars were pulled to work on TES6, but i'm not going to hold my breath =/
"Gamers" like you, excusing early access, is what caused this entire problem in the first place. Its never acceptable. Its the same exact thing that happened with microtransactions. People praised Overwatch for scamming players with lootboxes, because they were cosmetic only. That doesn't make it any less of a scam, and never should have been accepted in the first place. Now, lootboxes are illegal in multiple countries, hopefully here soon too. Then, maybe early access - selling an intentionally broken product, can be illegal too.
Early Access isn't made for buggy content. It's just to show a fraction of what the game can offer in full release / a showcase to get funds with a good concept. It's NOT an excuse for buggy content. Of course some bugs are expected. But the lack of serious of many EA (sic) games made the public thinks that. Early Access isn't a term for itself. Pre-Alpha Early Access, Beta EA, Early Access for a finished game but it's "a 3 day before release" access.
Hey Skill Up, thank you for the comment regarding QA's work: it's pretty rare that someone who's not an insider understands the reality of the work we do. Cheers!
The standard Bethesda formula: Todd announces game Game " just works " Game comes out and is super buggy Modders fix it Todd claims that thanks to Bethesda the game is amazing Repeat for future games
I think Todd was right, though. Just not in the way we want him to be. It IS very efficient, fast, easy to use, etc. if all you want to do is create a cash-grab resource-dump spinoff like Fallout76... It costs them NOTHING, nobody has to learn anything new, and if they're just reusing old models and textures anyway? Why WOULDN'T they, if purely from a financial perspective, not considering anything else? When greed runs the show, this is the result.
Yeah that quote he showed on the video was very telling. He said it was very efficient and what he thinks works best for US. He did t say them, the consumer, and efficient in his vocabulary means costed the least.
@@TheAjcarbo1224 Yeah... as a business owner and someone who has worked in the entertainment and music industry behind the scenes, I started to see things a LOT differently. You have to stop assigning this false value in your mind that a corporation is people. A board of directors is a table surrounded NOT by people, but entities. The board itself becomes an entire entity that represents ITs interests, not the interests of the components or constituents. You don't take into account what your HAIR wants every day, right? Or what pants your LEGS think would feel best for you to wear today? Expecting a corporate entity like that to do anything "for the people" is just like that. One problem is that the only thing the general public seems to see is what they publish themselves, however their PR department chooses to swing the presentation to make it look like they care. The people there are just employees of the entity once it becomes corporate. They are literally beholden to their investors, and no longer HAVE the control or freedom to actually direct or guide the company, UNLESS the entity approves. And the entity doesn't care about people. It's a money-fueled thing. So yes. They basically just told us "We know our old, outdated software is crap, but we can just tweak it and push it a LITTLE bit further without spending a penny more, and who cares if we're just reusing old models and stuff? Games like Destiny and Battlefront were excellent technical shooters, but lacked content, or hid it away with microtransactions. Games like Ark had amazing content and were interesting, but were hard to play. Games like Minecraft and Terraria fun to play and allowed the player to do what they wanted, but they weren't the least bit graphically impressive. All of these games were good or even exceptional, even though they had faults. Fallout 76 is all of the faults of these games without the good parts.
Just fyi Battlefront2 has been largely improved upon and is, suprisingly, getting new content every few months. Admittely its very small chunks of content but thats due to how small the team got that still works on it. Its actually a decent game now and i have a lot of fun playing it.

Agreed, and Starfield I was hyped for an epic space game... but the stinging part here is this. We can all wait cause hell it will be resold and re-released so many times that if its broken heap of mess, they will still sell it to me again and again and again.
It still uses the same engine. The same engine that only works because people MOD THE GAMES. And I’m not talking about the “dirty” mods, I’m talking about ones that actually make the game run properly. I fully expect it to bomb considering Bethesda still thinks they are a market leader.
@@withinsyn7482 Oh, I have nothing against them. That wasn't a shot at people who made those or download those mods for Skyrim, etc. The point I was making is the fact that Bethesda has gotten away with making buggy game for years ONLY because of modders. People who have literally done a better job optimizing/fixing those games that fucking engine then Bethesda ever will. AND BETHESDA IS TOO FUCKING LAZY TO ACTUALLY COPY ANY OF THOSE CODES. GAME CODES THAT COULD VASTLY IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THEIR PRODUCTS. THAT is why I am happy to see a lot of people calling them out on this game because they have honestly don't really deserve the free pass they've been getting for not updating their game engine.
I'll wait for them to be released. If they turn out good they'll get my money. But not before, as a preorder. I was inches away of pre-ordering FO76 when they presented it at E3. The only reason I didn't was because Todd said there won't be any NPCs. I found that weird in a Fallout game so I decided to wait. Best decision I ever made.
They're still too busy repackaging Skyrim onto every damn platform under the sun 7 years later. I'm sure the next gen consoles will get Skyrim remastered.
Skyrim The very Special SPECIAL Edition, Enhanced and Remastered 2019. Dont count on bugfixes tho...still need the unofficial community patch for the game not to crash to desktop every 10 minutes.

Ah, you are mistaking the management speak - Tom "It lets us be efficient and works best" - converting it to normal speak it reads as "it lets us be cheap and churn it out cheaply and easily"
Yeah, RIP. I especially loved how Bethesda fucked us over on "convenience items" and then justified bringing in even more of those with "we crunched the numbers and you really buy a lot of this stuff". No shit, idiot. That's the reason we don't want that crap in the game - because some people are gonna buy it and if you don't, you're at a fucking disadvantage. Fallout 1st is also a special brand of fuck you to the fans. "I heard you want a second travel spot, private servers, modding capability and limitless stash? That'll be one hundred bucks a year, thx guys!".
That song was ruined by the trailer. I’ve been ironically and sincerely enjoying that song for about 4 years now. And from now on everyone will think I’m referencing a dumpster fire.

You just imagined a parody video made 3 years ago about a fallotu with "no quests" and "no npc" and everybody giggles. Now we are here in a terrifying reality that is Fallou 76. What happend Bethesda?
Is it ironic that you may be absolutely correct? At the very least though this game was launched a year or two ahead of actual completion that it will now never reach
Re-watching this hit after playing 30 hours of Starfield and it is remarkably relevant for Starfield too... I need to watch this before buying another Bethesda game.
I wonder if the rdr2 team is getting drunk and playing fallout 76 and just laughing with each other. “Hey bob, come look at this....and we were worried about competing! Pass the dip!”
Your comment made me laugh a little hard than I should.. RDR2 only has one direct competition this year and it’s God of War. Too bad the Red Dead Online is miles away from being great, but still is much better than the unfinished bullshitety buggy mess that Fallout 76 is... Glad I was broke when the pre orders were live.. Dodged that bullet!
@@dreadfullyd1701Agree, but you should think of it this way: you paid 60 dollars for the Single Player and got the Online for free, at least it offered Online which God of War didnt
Tony Stark That is the argument I tell people who always bitch about “greedy rockstar”. 60 bucks for the single player (which is worth the price tag) and a free online (with microtransactions but that’s part of the business I guess) there are games who make you pay 60$ and then offer you ways to pay to win... That I genuinely hate. At least rockstar offers us a free online with free updates. The only downside is the microtransactions and the pay to win stuff but we can’t have anything entirely for free or else they go bankrupt.. If they balance the economy, add much more content and find a way to deal with griefers, Red Dead Online will be an awesome on line game. God of War is perfect the way it is. If they launched an Online thing to that game, it would Ruin it entirely in my opinion. Some games are just meant to be single player masterpieces. And that, God of War achieved. Let’s keep it that way. It is my 2nd favorite game of 2018 just before RDR2. But they both are the jewels of 2018 games for sure
@Hylian Usual Brian Fargo released Wasteland 2 and is developing Wasteland 3, now under Microsoft. Please take a look beyond your plate, it's all here.
@Hylian Usual The franchise should go back to Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, who are both currently at Obsidian. They are the creative minds behind Fallout.
Bethesda have fallen so low that i'm 100% sure some literal who Japanese company who only develops visual novels would make a better Fallout game at this point.
Bethesda has been really good at turning "surefire preorder"-guy like me into "I will surely wait for some prominent RUclipsr to recommend the game after release, and wait a couple of months to see if they add ridiculous MTX"-guy.
The thing that kills me is that , as a longstanding Fallout fan, I really want to like Fallout 76, but I just can't bring myself to spend money on a game that doesn't do the series justice just because it has the Fallout name on it. Personally, I want Fallout to be handed over to Obsidian fulltime. Now those peeps know how to do good Fallout
Don't think like that, my man/woman/whatever. As a fan, you should feel no need to like those games. Assaults and pointless hate are... Well, pointless, but never shut up your inner critic, find the flaws you see and point them out. It's the only way to get higher quality products.
Obsidian are now working on their own title that looks like how Fallout suppose to look like. It literally have the line "From the original creators of Fallout" in the trailer. The game is called "The Outer World" and have nothing to do with Fallout, but unlike Fallout it actually looks like how a post apocalictic game should look like. I think you can consider the existance of this game as a spit in the face of Bathesda.
I enjoyed fallout 3 but totally loved NV and I don't like 4 at all. didn't realise NV wasn't by bethesda until ~two years ago. so I agree, obsidian did it better.
@@las10plagas they made fallout 1,2, tactics and the failed fallout 3 called "project braun" before they made new vegas all of which are better than this kawkaw au modernity that Bethesda puts out.
"So many studios have contributed to this game" - Bloody liar. The engine is a 1:1 copy of fallout 4, while I was modding FO4, I also digged into the FO76 infrastructure ... it even has the same comments in it (comments, settings, file paths, general text files, etc.) ripped off from FO4. They even copied the Skyrim dragon 1:1 with the same collision scale, AI behavior, navmesh alignment ... there is even the same old 2015 powerarmor mesh bug ... which isn't even fixed in FO4. They did NOTHING new. They literally copied every single fucking crap from their previous games. Even I was like "wut? FO76, this soon? This cannot be true... this smells fishy!" and was totally right about it.
"Copied" is the wrong word here. I think "they modded FO4 into FO76" is a more correct way of saying it. As in they just took what they had and changed it a bit. Or at least "They used FO4 as a base and changed it into F76", but only because they are not modders, they are developers, lol.
I've been enjoying a lot of your videos as of late. I'm a AAA developer, and one misconception that I heard you say that I also catch from a lot of others not in the know, is that older engines should perform better because their age means they've had time to be optimized. However, I can tell you from direct experience, that that is often not the case. As new features are added to modernize an old engine, the older architecture struggles with some of the features you mentioned (widescreen support, newer visual effects, physics, etc) and overall this results in a worse performance overall. The engine that my team is using is also twenty years old, at its core. Yes, its been updated and modified, but bugs from 2001 are still popping up, even after they've been "fixed" dozens and dozens of times.
I got flamed to all hell on the /r/fo76 reddit because I was sad the BETA wasn't free and the idiots over there kept saying to me "It was free, you pay $60 and if you don't like it get a refund", which is the stupidest reasoning I've ever heard... but anyways Bethesda isn't allowing refund and now they've wasted their money so screw them. IMO BETA's should be free it shows confidence from the developers, it shows that they really want as many people to try and fall in love with their game as possible and allows people to form their own opinion of the game instead of what only content creators are saying. You can see now why fallout 76s BETA was a cash grab.
Oh my god, what have you DONE ? "Reddit Rule #1 : Thou shall flame any post who disagree with the credo 'This Game Is Perfect'. Burn at stakes any daring Redditors." Trust me, I've experienced enough reddit to be burnt a thousand time ( _but always make a legitimate post there to see the outrage_ ) More niche is the game, the more cultists there are.
Its because the industry is full of gullible idiots that purchased games like COD for years w/o evolving, and when it comes to unique titles it hits them in the face. I just find it ridiculous that it took THIS long for people to realize AAA is not where you should buy anymore. They have been exploiting consumers for years.
Dobt worry theres a class action lawsuit against Bethesda now due to a lack of customer service and they didn't do it on steam which allows refunds the whole business model is a microtranaction pyramid scheme. They arnt fixing any problems at least Andromeda was somewhat fixed and they ackowleded the mistakes and pached it a free weeks after release.
actually yeah, makes sense. 400 lb long term storage makes little sense, unless they just couldn't handle every player having the sort of stash that a FO4 player might end up with. but still, 400 lbs is goofy. you can have more than that on your person in FO4, for fuck's sake.
It doesn't really matter what you think now does it? The fact is that they limited the stash to 400 lbs due to performance issues and now they've announced that they're raising the limit to 600 lbs. I'm no Bethesda fan boy but if you're gonna hate on something please be accurate.

Small tidbit of info:
In fallout 4: far harbor, they added a lever action rifle.

Congratulations Bethesda, you played yourself.
The whole "Singleplayer is ded" narritive was just embarrising for everybody that participated.
I really found that funny. The first thing they do after saying all that is creating a shitty multiplayer cash grab.
Very good perspective.
Don't think when it comes to botched games, anyone ever actually blames devs... It's usually "the company" who gets shit (and it should be)
In my head I imagine their codebase as being something like that illustration of Mr.

Obsidian got bought by Microsoft. All hope is lost :(
The outer worlds is not an open world which is sad but it looks good.

Doesn’t mean that they’d butcher it.

To be honest, at this point I expect Elder Scrolls 6 to go like this:
You wake up locked in a dungeon...
Todd Howard, you did it again!
Your prophecy is horrifying. Don't make it inevitable!
If they release a Skyrim: remasterd remaster of the first remaster edition. Id buy that again rather than buy fallout 76.

I'm once again disappointed in so many blinded and naive Gamers who bought this game. It's just sad.
Is it just me, or do all enemies seem like they take either 1 bullet to kill, or 200?
It's not just you.
Come across level 10 enemies that would tale 1 bullet to kill then come back later and they take 6-10 and I am level 50.

@@davefinfrock3324 Hey did you know mods are already here.

m.ruclips.net/video/6o5KOUAltOw/видео.html

It blows my mind that people STILL think AAA betas are actually betas and not demos. Its almost as funny as people expecting Bethesda to fix bugs.
@The reality you fear Halo 5, Titanfall 2 changed quite a bit also
Well there actually are AAA betas still.
I feel like Bethesda should just fire all their staff then:
1) re-hire the writers from Morrowind, along with the better and more involved writers who've worked with them. (maybe Amy Hennig too)
2) Hire the folks who are making the best mods for Oblivion and Skyrim as new mission designers, coders and scripters
(Skywind, Skyblivion, Morrowblivion, the other expansion sized mods).
3) Hire the folks who have been doing the "Unofficial Elder Scrolls Patch" and improved UI series of mods.
What a stupid idea.

In the 80s/90s finance sector, stock brokers became infamous for their culture of greed, dishonesty, manipulation and general immorality, a similar culture infected the tech industry, and now I think we are seeing that same sort of culture germinating in the gaming industry. wtf they are using Creation Engine for ES6?! This is really bad.
I just do not appreciate Bethesda's argument that "our people know it". You have to adapt to the changing times. You cannot use Gamebryo forever. You can update it and change it but you cannot hang onto it because you refuse to learn something new. That's just asinine.
And Creation Club to fix the game after release :)
Agreed, either they need a MASSIVE engine upgrade top to bottom, or a new engine. Or ES6 is going to suffer.
Damn, I don't play Fallout, but now I'm worried about The Elder Scrolls VI!
Ya, other than the gaming engine, the lack of effort in quests and lore has the potential to kill their other franchises.
They are planing on using the same fucking engine as fallout 76 on the next elder scrolls game :(
They were able to make a great series out of TES, but after seeing F76, you have reason to be worried. If they continue to use the same engine, they'll lose the whole community towards any game from here on.
you dont have to be, they already have an online TES game. this "experience" should teach bethesda all they need to know.
it doesn't bode well man, I think they've long lost touch with the customer and are about to do a wyatt cheng (blizzard) on the bethesda crowd. I feel they peaked as a company with skyrim, and that's as far as they go. so far every title since then has been on the decline. I have a faint hope that the reason these titles suck is because all the rock stars were pulled to work on TES6, but i'm not going to hold my breath =/
It's evolving, but backwards
Devolving??
Gnivlove?
I can forgive early access games failing at launch, but a AAA title, unacceptable. What has the gaming industry become?
being fucken lazy and these fucken publishers think we just buy anything, you know fuck them I'm glad people are waking up and saying enough is enough
Everything is a blatant CASH GRAB now. The exploitation isn't limited to video games.

Cheers!
Came here to say this, feels good when someone in the industry understands the limited power QA has to fix bugs
Thank you for the work you do. Sorry so many companies don't care about your findings.
QA guy checking in. It is always management !!!
Don't worry, we're all sympathetic in my QA team. How many times did you hear "This is more of a feature than a bug"?
You cannot test quality into a system.
The standard Bethesda formula:
Todd announces game
Game " just works "
Game comes out and is super buggy
Modders fix it
Todd claims that thanks to Bethesda the game is amazing
Repeat for future games
Except modders can't fix this game, it's multiplayer.
There aint anything worst than blind fans, that will defend and FIX broken stuff for free...
It's still above the projected minimum profit % allocated and expected, so to us that's a success."

RIP future Elder Scrolls games
They're still too busy repackaging Skyrim onto every damn platform under the sun 7 years later. I'm sure the next gen consoles will get Skyrim remastered.
Skyrim The very Special SPECIAL Edition, Enhanced and Remastered 2019. Dont count on bugfixes tho...still need the unofficial community patch for the game not to crash to desktop every 10 minutes.
Elder scrolls can still be modde.........creation club.
Do you even know that there made by different teams so they can work on the AAA elder scrolls you want?

Not buying any new Bethesda game unless it proves itself to be good
Probably the best review/Analysis on this game.
thebestbet1 Probably the best review/analysis of current Bethesda.
Ah, you are mistaking the management speak - Tom "It lets us be efficient and works best" - converting it to normal speak it reads as "it lets us be cheap and churn it out cheaply and easily"
This is like my 5th fallout review. I love hearing the bashing of this game!
Kind of wished people were this honest about FO4 as well.
Fallout 4 was okay, but as a whole it was insulting to OG Fallout fans. Most disappointing purchase of my life.
fallout 4 was still good. dont be a dick.
@RoguelikeMike nope. It is even worse thab i thought. Stop playing the protector and defender of bethesda. The game is bad and you shouls feel bad

Coronavirus-era here. Game stil shit. Over and out.
The most successful part of this game is the song from the trailer, and that's sad
The song that existed decades before this trash heap was slapped into existence
And the power armour edition 😀
That song was ruined by the trailer. I’ve been ironically and sincerely enjoying that song for about 4 years now. And from now on everyone will think I’m referencing a dumpster fire.

You just imagined a parody video made 3 years ago about a fallotu with "no quests" and "no npc" and everybody giggles. Now we are here in a terrifying reality that is Fallou 76. What happend Bethesda?
"What little can we do to maximize profits"
As it turns out, that "Skyrim on the fridge" joke Todd teased at E3 would've been a better idea than Fallout 76...

@@TheRealIronMan god of war has always been single player, it's not gonna change cause of multiplayer games.
I have a friend who works on rdr2 i sent a screenshot of this to him. 😂😂😂

That is a solid rebuttal, to be fair.
I think at this point i'd be happy with another company developing the Fallout franchise.
The people who did New Vegas for Obsidian
Don't forget Avellone. Emil Pagliarulo should stay the fuck away from this franchise.
Bethesda have fallen so low that i'm 100% sure some literal who Japanese company who only develops visual novels would make a better Fallout game at this point.
Bethesda has been really good at turning "surefire preorder"-guy like me into "I will surely wait for some prominent RUclipsr to recommend the game after release, and wait a couple of months to see if they add ridiculous MTX"-guy.
then the curse is broken, welcome to reality

This cannot be true... this smells fishy!" and was totally right about it.
yeah, I was also surprised how quickly they released 76.
I instantly knew, this will be... not such a good game. but I already didn't like fallout 4
"Copied" is the wrong word here. I think "they modded FO4 into FO76" is a more correct way of saying it. As in they just took what they had and changed it a bit. Or at least "They used FO4 as a base and changed it into F76", but only because they are not modders, they are developers, lol.
No it's not a 1:1 Copy but its very close the fallout 76 engine is a heavily modded version of the fallout 4 engine
I'm not even sure that I,ll pre-order elder scroll 6. I,ll wait after the game has been release to be sure I won,t get scammed
@@dilididli2274 NEVER pre order a game. Please take that as a lesson from this mess.
Burn at stakes any daring Redditors."
Trust me, I've experienced enough reddit to be burnt a thousand time ( _but always make a legitimate post there to see the outrage_ )
More niche is the game, the more cultists there are.
They shoulda learned its not free if you pay and theres never a refund guarantee and even if theres a refund... still not free.
@@outsidercain3038 speak like Yoda you do.
The 400lbs stash limit makes me think they intended to sell storage space if the game was a hit.
actually yeah, makes sense. 400 lb long term storage makes little sense, unless they just couldn't handle every player having the sort of stash that a FO4 player might end up with. but still, 400 lbs is goofy. you can have more than that on your person in FO4, for fuck's sake.
That was my thinking. They limit a core aspect, which means, they're gonna monetize it
It doesn't really matter what you think now does it? The fact is that they limited the stash to 400 lbs due to performance issues and now they've announced that they're raising the limit to 600 lbs. I'm no Bethesda fan boy but if you're gonna hate on something please be accurate.

Todd Howard: "I read on the internet that our games have a few bugs" "I read it on the internet so it must be true"
