- I traveled to Sapporo, the prefectural capital of Hokkaido, Japan. This trip was initially planned so that we could visit the Sapporo Snow Festival 2020, but we ended up experiencing so much more - especially Sapporo's surreal winter scenery ❄️
In this vlog, I hope to show you some things to do/places to visit/eat in Sapporo (not only in winter, but throughout the whole year). I hope you enjoy this vlog as much as I enjoyed editing it! 💖

I miss the place. I spent ten days there last February arriving on the very day the Odori Park Snofes site opened. Before going there I booked an icebreaker cruise In mombetsu plus the Sounkyo Ice Festival, a trip to Asahiyama Zoo/Shirogane Blue Pond/Shirahige Waterfall, the tv tower, Lake Shikotsu Illumination festival and a day tour that included Mt Moiwa, the Olympic facilities and Ramen Yokocho.
I flew home the day before Valentine’s Day. Viewing this still makes me cry at how quiet the scenery was... esp since the pandemic was not yet in full swing.
your trip sounds amazing! i wish i had more time to visit the shirogane blue pond (i’ve only seen it in summer but the winter scenery must be amazing) and also the lake shikotsu festival! i wish i could go back again :( my heart sinks a bit when i look back at old photos because i miss it so much!

Walking back to my hotel in the wee hours and with the snow beating down makes me play one of the BGM pieces from the Sinking of Japan OST (Record of a Certain Living Thing) in my head, because it kept me at ease amidst the quiet atmosphere of Hokkaido. The trip took months to plan but i was only cleared for leave by my employer barely two months to go but not before i already found my accomodations. I visited all three Snofes sites.
Shirogane was awesome at night. Depending on how your tour agent set up your booking to Asahiyama/Shirogane/Shirahige, you might have a Chance to order dinner from the Between the Bread Akan burger place in Kushiro.

I must say it's a very relaxing, enjoyable, and informative video. Hopefully one day I can also go to Japan and create a beautiful vlog like this. The background music, narration, and footage are perfectly sync and I still can't believe it's only shot using iphone. I thought you use fancy camera such as sony a73. The footage is not shaky and the color are really well toned. Amazing 👌

Cafe Blanc closed down during the covid craziness. The owners were warm people who wouldn’t mind hanging out during a slow night.

First of all i enjoyed video. Camera you took video is iphone 11 pro ? And 4K possible? Awesome. I was impressed a lot. Quality is really good. One sad thing is that might your last Japan trip before Covid 19 pandemic TT i also tripped in fukuoka 2019 Dec i didnt know that was last trip TT

Hi! Thank you so much! I went for 5 days in the beginning of February for the Sapporo Snow Festival! It really depends if you’re planning to take day trips out of Sapporo or not, but I think a week would be nice so that you’re able to take trips out to nearby towns for onsen :)!

It's clear, but doesn't sound good. You can very clearly hear that this is a phone mic, not a professional setup.
