The burying Godzilla under ice is a nod to Godzilla Raids Again - the sequel to the 1954 Gojira. That was how they defeated it then until King Kong vs Godzilla.

I love this movie but there are a few things I would change:
1. Remove any and everything involving Minilla.
2. Bring in MechaGodzilla or atleast Mogerua.
3. Bring in some of the Heisei original Monsters (atleast Destoroyah).
4. Have more Super Soldiers vs Kaiju fight scenes.
Agree with 1 and 4. Can do without some added monsters just to not make the monster line up too crowd

Gotta wonder why Creepy gets so upset over Mothra dying. The big bug never stays down, what with the whole goddess-of-resurrection thing going for her.
TLHCG True...but Mothra does get a badass death none the less. Even after Gigan blows her up she reappears, covered in flames, and rams what is left of Gigan. "KILL ME WILL YOU!" Let that be a lesson to any who even dare to kill Mothra.

I thought that they missed an opportunity in Kong Skull Island: When Sam Jackson said to John Goodman "You knew that thing was out here?!" referring to Kong, Goodman should have replied something like "Well I thought we would find a giant Moth, I do work for 'Monarch' after all" This would have automatically established the connected universe.

I've got the dvd of this film. Since this was my first Kaiju film ever, I was over the moon when I found a biography list of all the Monster's. I'm glad you guys enjoyed this movie as much as I do.

Godzilla, Minilla, Kamucurus, Kumonga, Gigan, Manda, Ebirah, Hedorah, Zilla, Mothra, Rodan, Anguirus, King Caeser and Keizer Ghidorah All the monsters I believe
At least Godzilla Final Wars is no longer the last Toho Godzilla film, thanks to new Godzilla Resurgence/Shin Gojira going to be released this July 29 2016, well in Japanese theatres at least, not sure if there's a theatrical release, despite both the 1984 and 2000.

Well, they've done most of the movies involving Godzilla and Mothra...except Godzilla vs The Sea Monster but that's probably because Mothra's appearance is more of a cameo.
Though, they didn't do Ghidorah the 3-headed Monster. Then again, trying to get the English version of the Toho Godzilla movies is not that easy, even in America. Hell, there's none sold over here in the UK except for the 1954 Godzilla, King Kong vs Godzilla (!963), and King Kong escapes.

Actually, the Ghidorah in this film is called Keizer Ghidorah. It's common for people to mix him up with King Ghidorah, but there are differences. The most notable is the fact that Keizer Ghidorah is quadrupedal, and Keizer Ghidorah lacks defined scales on his body. They also have two different copyright icons.
You know Kaizer means the same as king. Kaiser is germanic for caesar. Which also means king/ruler/emperor. So technically both are "King" Gidorah. Lol
@@yoshijb9428 Kaizer is Emperor specifically, because the creators of the movie wanted him to be higher than KING Ghidorah. Therefore, they used the title higher than King, Emperor. So he's Emperor Ghidorah.

of the Heisei series was to star in *"Godzilla: Final Wars"* according to
an early draft by producer Shogo Tomiyama and writer Wataru Mimura, with the opening set in the late

Rather fitting since Akira Nakao who played "General Aso" in those 3 films starred in the opening as the Gotengo's Captain. Plus, Canadian actress Shelley Sweeney who played "2nd Lt. Catherine Berger", one of MechaGodzilla's pilots in *"Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla"* (1993), and an U.S. Satelitte Information Center analyst in *"Godzilla vs Destoroyah"*
(1995) is the silent Eclair's Commanding Officer in Paris.
Sadly, this version of the script was rejected for a new script by
director Ryuhei Kitamura (who was NOT a fan of the Heisei films or even the earlier Millennium films) and writer Isao Kiriyama.
Godzilla Final Wars alongside Gojira are my favorite movies in the series. Both masterpieces and AHEAD of its time.

The American was actually played by Don Frye(fry), he was a pretty big name in Japan at one point for being one of the pioneers of early MMA. Watch some of his fights u won't be disappointed, he's a fuckin beast.
The part with creepy talking about how Zilla would get his ass kicked by Rodan always gives me a chuckle. Because it is true xD.

I guess decker forgot to review "Godzilla vs the sea monster/ Ebirah, horror of the deep!" because he refers to Ebirah as "a giant crawfish" and they didn't review the movie even though Mothra was in it.

After meeting Mr. Kitagawa, the actor who played Godzilla in this movie, I am even more pleased to say this is my favorite Godzilla movie other than the original.

The drill subarine is from a movie of the same name "Gotengo" released in the US as "Super Atragon". Its another Toho scifi film from the 60's. Basically it was a super weapon the Japanese built to win WW2, but it wasn't completed before the end of the war. In a nod to actual history of WW2 era Japanese soldiers hiding out on remote islands not knowing the war was over, the builders of the Gotengo keep building it in secrets.

And a Group of humans
Oh and the awesome Keith Emerson (RIP) soundtrack, especially the opening montage.
Decker Shado TLHCG I forgot one last thing & that is I really had hoped that both of you guys wouldve mention this in the Godzilla vs Rodan, King Caeser, Anguirus Fight was in how they were the only 3 Kaiju that Godzilla doesn't kill or destroy in some way as this was both a nod to the Fans & tribute to all 3 Kaiju as in the past they were once all allies & friends to Godzilla back in the Showa Era .

I got to correct this BIG mistake, years later. You called Ghidorah, King Ghidorah but this one is Keizer Ghidorah, notice his FOUR legs instead of the original 2? Plus his coloring is WAY different. I know you guys do research on this stuff but this is a BIG name drop as there are a lot of Ghidorahs out there and this one is suppose to be the strongest of them all!

Skirmixstudios I think the fight could have been a bit more interesting if they had Zilla work with his strengths of speed and... inexplicable stealth? As it was a straight-up brute force duel, there was no chance he could even survive. Still, a quick blast of atomic breath is what quite a few fans were asking for.

No, not really. I see Gino as a victim of circumstance. Like actors in their first gig where the movie also flops. Sometimes they get the blame when it was just a poorly done film all around. From a certain standpoint, you could say Jean Reno and Gino were the best things about the 98 atrocity.
Imo, the creature has a sound design. Could've been cooler if they included other reptilian traits such as regeneration and the chameleon's stealth ability making him like a giant "Predator" type with the camo.
What (I hate myself for saying the name) but what "Zilla" needs is a good retcon and a reboot. Too many fans blame the creature when they should've looked at the director and co and the choices made there.
You guys have such great chemistry together, that you should do more reviews together.

Godzilla Final Wars in my opinion is the Second Most AWESOME Movie Ever! (First is Transformers Animated Movie 1986) ;)
This was my Ultimate childhood Dream ever since I watched Godzilla Marathon back on TNT's Monsterthon way back in the day when I was a kid & when I saw this Movie I creamed my drawers. XD (don't judge)
Now minus it was missing a few other Kaiju I had wish were in this Movie (Mechagodzilla, Megalon, & Jet Jaguar *seriously how could they not have him in this*) the Line up of Kaiju really showed how much this Movie was a Love Letter to many Kaiju Fans.
I loved all the characters in this Movie as well as you had probably said it came off like Godzilla & Matrix combined together (minus all the stupid from the Matrix) & I enjoyed the Super Mutant Humans as it actually gave the Humans an edge against the Kaiju which I kinda hope they keep if Toho ever revives Godzilla.
Finally 3 notes: 1. Mothra did live & survive the Final Battle as she turns into a Super Saiyan Phoenix God Mode & Overkills Gigan 2.0 by blasting herself through his body causing it explode & then she is seen flying back to her Home Island. (probably to take a long good rest till the Earth needs her again)
2. Maybe I skipped it by accident but it seem like you guys kinda skipped/skimmed over the parts of Monster X's appearance & his build up from falling down like a meteor & his eventual fight with Godzilla. (Big G)
3. Finally the Gotengo is actually a popular Fantasy Futuristic Sci-Fi Battlecruiser Battleship that has appeared in Anime/Manga/Shows cause of it's popularity.
Anyway this was a Amazing Review Series I greatly enjoy & I can't wait to see what your next Crossover Reviews will be like together as both of you work well together & compliment well off each other. :)
P.S. So did Decker finally like Mothra & accept her Deity Status or do we have to put Boobs & Legs on a Anthro Mothra to get him to Respect her?

I feel the same way about anything coming from Japan. The subs are always much better imo. With some exceptions like dbz just because I grew up with those voices for the charecters.

Funny thing is Godzilla didn't fry Zilla as Zilla is actually alive and well in the Comics Rulers of earth which is canon to the series. Also a damn amazing comic. Which canonical answered that this is indeed Zilla Jr from the actually Good Godzilla Animated series.

I feel I should correct you as this time it wasn't King Ghidorah. It was Kaizer Ghidorah. If you look its got a much different body structure and even its 3 heads are different.

I'm on the side of fans that hate this movie. It's biggest problem is that it doesn't care about Godzilla. He appears in the pre-title sequence, gets frozen, the movie forgets about him, goes on without him and the first time someone brings him up is almost half-way throught the film. And even after he finally appears, the movie reduces his screen time to a mere SUBPLOT that's overshadowed by a completely unrelated plot involving humans we couldn't possibly care any less than we already do. For a 50TH ANNIVERSARY celebration, that's unforgivable.
The cause of this is Toho's huge mistake of choosing a martial-arts movie director who doesn't care about Godzilla since he knows that giant monsters can't do martial-arts. So he shoehorned-in the mutant vs aliens plot so that he can have martial-arts. And even with new additions and a decent, but still enjoyable performance from Don Frye, are overshadowed by blatant unoriginality, pathetic special effects, embarrasing dialogue, a blazingly stupid main villain, short monster fight scenes and a decent director, albeit horrible writter who, try as he so desperately might, he's not the Wachowski siblings.

Funny enough, IDW Publishing managed to redeem Zilla in their comic series Godzilla: Rulers of Earth by making it where Zilla was able to hold his own against Godzilla and survive.

They brought back one-hit wonders like King Caesar, Kamacuras, Ebirah, Hedorah, and Manda, but not Titanosaurus, Jet Jaguar, Gorosaurus and Varan. I was a bit disappointed. At least Baragon appeared in another movie.
