    Is it just me or do i want to see Shaw (and all other Strongman competitions) ban split jerk on pressing and make it strict press. I want to know who has the strict press raw power. Iron Biby press was twice as impressive as Lucas Hatton 500lb press doing a strict at 528lbs is sooo much more impressive and raw power and I feel like that is the spirit of strongman competitions. Not who has the best technique to cheat the weight but who has the most raw POWER to move the weight.

    Thor lift was lighter but easier imo. Looked like it was mainly due to not good grip with tacky that made him struggle alittle. Also, Thor deadlifted before that. I think Thor gets the stone or equal with Tom. Same natural talent as Tom, Thor is just static stronger in deadlift + squat. Same reach etc. Also no training for them vs Tom training the regular.

I’m picking Brian because I’m biased. It’s a stone off I think he could win it. We saw what he did last WSM in Myrtle Beach. Looks like he could have kept on going easily lol. Tom vs Thor, the Montain vs the Bigger Mountain. Here's a take in it:
    Tom and Thor are two different spectrums when it comes to atlas stones, i've read things like Tom is a natural with the stones, but guess what, so is Thor.
    Something to check is Tom broke the Atlas stone record before getting serious about WSM and really going for it, my dude was a very good strongman, but he became a specialist in Atlas Stones before even winning his first WSM, though he remained the top man at it he never was truly challengued and was looking forward more WSM titles.
    Thor on the other hand, never was an Atlas Stone specialist, dude was just better than anybody else, including Shaw and Z of whose Thor took some records on the stones off. Shocking as it seems Thor is not even a deadlift specialist, he always trains to win and in the way he became the top dog in multiple disciplines... Then and only then he broke the deadlift records of some specialists like Prittchet and Hall. Plus, at Thor's time, there was no rush on breaking the Atlas Stone record.
    So, we don't know either Toms or Thors max at the atlas stones, all we know is they gonna push themselves to the top. Of you ask me, i don't think the record will be broken, not in such heavy comp, but bet your asses thy gonna be 1st and 2nd... And, watch out Thor, he still has to bulk.
    Also, so far Tom remains the king of the atlas stones for weight, in fact the Atlas record for speed is Thor's.
    Finally, i do belive Atlas King fits better Tom, he can't be King of the stones if people keep beating him in any other stone discioline, like natural lifting, throwing, Tombstone and Hussaffell, all at Wich Thor and other guy are better than him

    • @Ian-if2lf
      @Ian-if2lf 4 месяца назад +3

      its not just thor that still has to time to bulk/tweek/train, I never understand fans thinking there guy is the only one that has some sort of unique threat from that angle?.
      Thor still has the record on only one set of stones so when you say ''in fact the record for speed is thors'' you are only talking about one set!, the only set that Tom has never pushed himself on because nobody in a comp would challenge him, so why try so hard?, all the rest is Toms records because its easy for him including max weight. there are other world record stone runs Tom has that don't get into the circuit, yeah he is king and will beat Thors heavy set record if he needs to, the ''Albatross'' is a name for a reason.

      @@Ian-if2lfTom won't bulk further, never has. Also, Thor's standing record is in the heavier set of stones, is not just one thing.
      You are right we treat Thor special, but is because he has proven himself, is Thor says "I'll bulk" you will see some serious shit, or "I'll train to beat that" you beat he will, eve in boxing. Tom is mild, I like him but he seems to hit his roof and can't progress from there, he doesn't need to either, but Thor does. So yeah. You have a good point though, we'll see on the day.

      When it comes to stones I don't think Tom will be beaten, Thor is phenomenal and his deadlift is insane, but Tom is just a natural stone lifter, 2 completely different physiques, stones is just Tom’s, he lifted that 250k stone twice, 231k to 250 is a big jump and Thor doesn't have the belly to push the stone away from him onto the stand. Tom can go bigger he will lift the 600lb stone I don't see anyone else managing that. However the overall competition will finish Tom Thor and Mitch 1, 2 & 3 but in which order I’m not sure, my heart says Tom, my head says Mitch, Thor will drop points on any overhead events because of his Pec rare.
