- Qiyana Login Screen Animation I made over the weekend as soon as I got an HD image in League Displays.
Over 18 hours of work.
I made it because I wanted to learn some Spine2D - AfterEffects workflow. I want to apologize for the quality of my painting, I'm not an illustrator myself hahaha
I learned a damn lot through the process, I may say this is the hardest animation I've made so far, but I still need to keep improving and learning. I hope I could have more time to polish this more.
Also, sorry for the huge amount of workarounds in this project ^^'

I mean oooooorrrrrrrr you could just make 50 pictures with a little bit of touch to add animation and play them really fast xDDDD

Okay so like... usually when Riot makes these login screen animations, they have the artists create assets for the animators to animate. They don't work with just a drawing. You had to legit CREATE those assets yourself in order to rig them. That's just incredible. The hard work you put into this is inspiring. Bravo
Not all the time, if you search on youtube, there's an animator for Riot, and they create the assets, though, it is quite remarkable because most (as what you said) have the assets ready.
That's how this kind of thing began. I remember when rigging 2d art into animation first started to become a thing around the time when Lulu and Hecarim were coming out, they hired a guy that literally just made stuff on the side as a fan project by splicing and painting his own assets to fill in gaps.
@Eureka When you're an illustrator (which I am), you're almost always in a hurry, it's not our job to make animators lives easier, we're not paid to do their job. You should really not say that illustrators are dumb tho, they're just doing their jobs.

if it's a hobby, he should be careful. When making your hobby your work, it can end up horrible (or good, since "can" can imply a win or a loss). But if it's not a "hobby" and he's ready to work 8h+ per day everyday doing this for months and years then he should apply. :P

It looks amazing although let's be honest - your job is much harder to do than riot's employees. They always get splashart prepared for animating purposes (everything is on separate layers, simply prepared to animate it straight away) while you need to prepare everything on your own, background, parts of the body, everything really
lol stop putting riot down they put in as much work as he does he literally seperated in each part he basically put it into layers and theres nothing wrong with using layers its to help distinguish and edit things quickly. This guys good though.

Aleksandra Michałowska idru this comment because the illust wasn’t drawn by them, so they didn’t have access to the layers and that’s why it was harder for them to animate... it was a learning process and i think they did a great job but idt that what they did is any greater or harder than a riot employee

Holy fuck dude. You took a still image, cut out EVERY INDIVIDUAL MOVING PART, painted over parts to create new assets and fill in the holes left by the cutting, rigged every individual moving part in Spine2D, then brought it into after effects and added an insanely detailed set of lights, visual effects, and shadows. All the while you're using some insanely detailed and difficult to use software! Even if it ended up turning out to be a short looping animation, I can tell you thank the effort and care put into this is absolutely stunning and spectacular. You are truly a master of your craft.
And you don't have to apologize for the painting!!! Your ability to match the original painting is absolutely on-point. Don't sell yourself short! ESPECIALLY after creating something so amazing.
