  • Good afternoon guys, since we're locked in the garage due to the unnaturally cold weather here in Houston, I thought I would do a show and tell of the 1967 427 Corvette VetteSource channel avatar.
    Like most gearheads, I love a good car story, and this car has a Texas sized history to go along with the car. It hasn't been owned by anyone famous, or done anything special, but it is special simply because it has lived a normal life lovingly cared for and protected by its normal people caretakers, which makes it priceless in my mind.

      yep, it seems they were building orders as fast as they were receiving them, but maybe that was the norm back then.

    Possibly the best of the c2’s and of course the color combo. 😎

      For sure, getting everything set up now. We need to get together again so you can explain the sound engineering aspect of it again.

    I’m so excited to see this car make some noise!

      @VetteSource  3 года назад +1

      Yep, there's nothing quite the sound of a 427 through a set of sidepipes. Thanks for watching👍

    I love my vette because it’s not perfect, it’s 25 years old and has some small scratches and dings here and there. She’s a great 10 footer... but if she was any cleaner I’d probably never drive it in fear of getting those scratches or dings!

      That's it exactly. As nice as the restored cars are to look at, owners tend to become fearful of driving them around casually.

    Absolutely! Drive that baby. It needs some exercise and that's what it was built for. I understand not driving it regularly but if it runs it should run.

    Straight out of college is the same story as my father. Pretty cool. My dad was an engineer too.
    That's awesome you were able to get so much history and paperwork on the car. We've got the protecto plate but no window sticker or early service records. Should probably drop the tank and look for a sticker but we never have.
    The hand written log of services the owner made is a really great bonus. I bet you could spend hours reading that over and over.
    15:28 Does that say 4 barrel Holley? Did the owner swap out the Tri-Power to a 4 barrel at one point?
    Thanks for sharing this history. Looking forward to see it out on the road.

      Yep, he did that back in the day while he was using it as a daily driver an got tired of tuning the carbs constantly. When he sold it to the second owner he included the original intake and carbs and that guy put it back to original.

      @@VetteSource Cool. Good that they stayed together all this time. He probably could have got some decent coin for that setup back in the day.

      That's the plan, I have been very patient all these years, but it's time to hit the open road again.
