    An excellent video, thanks for sharing. I have to do this job on my girlfriend’s 2013 Maxima. We’ve done all the cheap fixes already, but clearly, the compressor needs to be replaced. And thanks to your video, I now know how to do it. Thanks again, Sir!

    Only thing he doesn't show is the two bolts on top of the compressor that most would remove from the top. U need either a ramp or a lift to get it from the bottom. I don't mind the music cause I'm a visual learner anyways lol good job tho my mans!

    Great video. After you changed the compressor does the freon leak out? Do you always have to recharge it?

    • @mechanicmode
      @mechanicmode  5 дней назад

      No one time recharge and is done if you have to add more after that than you probably have a leaking gasket or something

    How did you flush out the old refrigerant is there a bolt where that fluid came out of or do you need to force it into the atmosphere

    I just finished tackling this job and I have to say, removing the radiator fans were only way I was about to get to the 2 10mm bolts for the a/c lines. It's a bit too troubling if you do not have a lift. No specialty tools necessary. Just my $0.02 Good luck!

    • @mechanicmode

      I have a 2011 SV and just had the compressor and high pressure hose replaced. Had it done by an auto air specialty shop and it wasn’t cheap - at ALL (probably second in cost only to the dealership). But I wanted it done right, and with a warranty (12 mos/unlimited mileage).
      Car had 238k miles and runs immaculately. This is the only problem I’ve ever had with a/c…..and I hope to keep the car at least two more years.

    I have a 2011 Maxima like the one in this video. I was involved in a collision with a dear resulting in damage to multiple front end parts. The condenser was breached so it needed replacement. When I got the car back from being repaired the heater and A/C were not functioning properly. The blower was working but I was only getting heat on the passenger side. I took the car back to the repair shop but only got the run around from the owner. A few weeks later the blower gave out too. Now I'm having to pay out of pocket for a new blower and god know what else. Can anyone advise me on what is going on with this system that functioned perfectly before they "repaired" it? I am a senior who cannot afford this expense. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
