Holyfield was a warrior who fought everyone and anyone. He didn't duck anybody and he wasn't even a natural heavyweight. He is the only man to be "undisputed" at two weights and is a Legend who deserves a lot of respect.

Didn’t duck anybody .... except Tyson in his prime. I say this loving Evanders game. This isn’t even a stain on his legacy, but simply he avoided Tyson until Tyson went and came out of prison

He took tons of steriods which is a stain on his remarkable career as a fighter.
But that said, he truly was the real deal. His mentality for a fighter was as good as all those in his generation.
I would have 3 altogether that were unmatched in the mental game of that era.
      Evander 'The Real Deal' Holyfield
      Lennox Lewis
      And BIG George Foreman.
Hell, George said that in his 2nd career as a fighter he never threw a punch in anger, not once!
      Shit man......imagine if he did!
I love all 3 of these boxers/fighters, they truly are worthy fighters for all times.
As much as I regard Lennox & Evander though, George scares the living hell out of me hahahah

I think that was a horribly wrong way to go about it. But when the refs let Holyfield get away with this year after year, that and doing roids for years 🙄, who do you turn to? Holyfield was a natural light heavyweight, and gained weight when training. That fact was in all the media back then. Then, when he quit training, he lost weight!! There's only one way I know this can happen, and I'm surprised so many haven't commented. Imagine someone's character, being a good, young champion in his 20s, to shoot roids, then fight a 42 year old fighter like George Foreman. He's a fucking cheater, period. Lewis's problem was he came along in a time where the division wasnt that great, and its stars, like Holyfield, were far out of their primes. So, even then beating the likes of Holyfield just carried less weight. You are only as great as your competition, and when you look back on Lewis's competition, its mostly out of their prime guys or no one at all, so thats what hurts his legacy even if he was an amazing boxer.

Neither Holyfield nor Lewis could have beat Trevor Berbick in November 1986. Holyfield needed steroids and human growth hormone in order to compete in the heavyweight division.
Tyson was always smaller than his opponents yet...he was always going for the knockout. Holyfield was the toughest?! Holyfield was supposed to fight Razor Ruddock in 1991.......instead he fought old man George Foreman.

Lewis was bigger than all of his opponents yet he was always holding and refusing to engage.........look at the first Holyfield fight....no ring generalship.......look at the fight vs Frank Bruno.......fouling with his left glove.
He was big, awkward, and unbalanced. Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman starched him with one-punch KOs....because he had ZERO chin. When Lewis got hurt....he held.....when Tyson got hurt.......he punched back.
And Holyfield was the most drugged up on gear for this era.......steroids, human growth hormone.

Because Lennox is also tall and big with a long reach like Fury it could also be a bad clash of similar styles and make for a boring fight. I agree that the 90s heavyweights were awesome and the fights were well worth the PPV bucks because the best fought the best, they rematched straight away if there were controversial losses or draws and they fought more often.
