@@ElPigeonMan wtf? Lmao Lewis clinched and that was what saved him. No real speed to dodge punches when he was in trouble. A big behemoth and nothing more
Lewis's problem was he came along in a time where the division wasnt that great, and its stars, like Holyfield, were far out of their primes. So, even then beating the likes of Holyfield just carried less weight. You are only as great as your competition, and when you look back on Lewis's competition, its mostly out of their prime guys or no one at all, so thats what hurts his legacy even if he was an amazing boxer.
@Shaolin DonkeyPunch ....you're high AF. Lennox Lewis was a shit fighter. Tyson was THE BEST fighter. The man became heavyweight champion at 20 years of age. @Steevy Horton nothing to do with race, in the 1800s boxing wasnt even regulated so your argument is already flawed, don king is the man that most people remember simply because he screwed over and is hated by some little known guys like tyson, ali, nigel benn, gerald mcclellan and i could go on but i have already proven my point right
@Steevy Horton nobody ever said that boxing was clean before don king, and youre defending the guy, it has nothing to do with race, he created more millionaries of course he did nobody made millions in the 20s 30s 40s 50s and 60s, its just inflation in a 100 years boxers will be making billions with a single fight but a billion dollars wont mean the same as today, don king was around in a era that money worth less than earlier thats why he made a bunch of guys millionares, because there was more money in the world and boxing was becoming even more famous, gerald mcclellan needs donations just to be alive because don king got most of gerald's last purse against nigel benn wich left gerald brain damaged for life and don king not only never helped but took his money, so yes your argument is flawed.
@Steevy Horton oh fuck you if don king was white he would have the same treatment as he does, and fuck once again, just because someone is black doesnt mean i cant say what they did wrong so stop playing a victim, and you ignored most of my comment wich proves that you simply cant prove your argument.
@Steevy Horton gerals knew the risk but still don king took his purse and this isnt part of the risk and youre acting as if don king did nothing wrong just because he is black

While I was no Lennox fan, when they called that first fight a draw I stopped watching heavy weight boxing. It was so blatantly evident that Lewis dominated the overwhelming majority of the rounds, just plain outboxing Evander, that I lost all respect for this division. Lennox was cheated of a decisive victory and I enjoy these sports to watch champions battle not to see graft or politics or a desire to restage a fight for more money. John Rife I’m slightly older than Holyfield was. Yeah I agree with you to an extent. Although with heavyweights it’s usually a bit older due to them relying on power rather than speed. Evander took on foreman at 44 and it went to points, so there’s always exceptions to the rule.

Neither Holyfield nor Lewis could have beat Trevor Berbick in November 1986. Holyfield needed steroids and human growth hormone in order to compete in the heavyweight division.
Tyson was always smaller than his opponents yet...he was always going for the knockout. Holyfield was the toughest?! Holyfield was supposed to fight Razor Ruddock in 1991.......instead he fought old man George Foreman.

He was big, awkward, and unbalanced. Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman starched him with one-punch KOs....because he had ZERO chin. When Lewis got hurt....he held.....when Tyson got hurt.......he punched back.
And Holyfield was the most drugged up on gear for this era.......steroids, human growth hormone.

Lewis won that first fight, I agree with you
@Steevy Horton nothing to do with race, in the 1800s boxing wasnt even regulated so your argument is already flawed, don king is the man that most people remember simply because he screwed over and is hated by some little known guys like tyson, ali, nigel benn, gerald mcclellan and i could go on but i have already proven my point right
@Steevy Horton nobody ever said that boxing was clean before don king, and youre defending the guy, it has nothing to do with race, he created more millionaries of course he did nobody made millions in the 20s 30s 40s 50s and 60s, its just inflation in a 100 years boxers will be making billions with a single fight but a billion dollars wont mean the same as today, don king was around in a era that money worth less than earlier thats why he made a bunch of guys millionares, because there was more money in the world and boxing was becoming even more famous, gerald mcclellan needs donations just to be alive because don king got most of gerald's last purse against nigel benn wich left gerald brain damaged for life and don king not only never helped but took his money, so yes your argument is flawed.
@Steevy Horton oh fuck you if don king was white he would have the same treatment as he does, and fuck once again, just because someone is black doesnt mean i cant say what they did wrong so stop playing a victim, and you ignored most of my comment wich proves that you simply cant prove your argument.
