I had problem to tag along in everything bur think I got the picture. Tuff story, this is why keeping history alive and learning from it. I told my view on the "race topic) in your earlier video about mixed couple. There are so many lies from older days, kept alive by "conservative" people just because they would be ashamed of what they inherit from their "conservative" ancestors. Difficult subject for me to discuss in a foreign language.... Love you for discussing this without blaming people on either side! 🥰

What do you mean by "conservatives" ?

Wow. That was heavy. In the Caribbean, what we call white, we all know is not white. I know people who identified as white in the Caribbean, though they look mixed-race/ mulatto. They live in the U.S. now, and they tick Caucasian for ethnicity, because they were born and raised calling themselves white. In the U.S., moreso, they look so 'black', but they won't see themselves any other way but white.

This happened alot in our home state and have destroyed many families. It is sad, but we sympathize with them just wanting to live a better life.

I have an acquaintance that was adopted by a white couple. She looked like a mixed lady.
She growing up in a small town.
She finally met her bio Mom in her late 20s. And found out that her Dad was black. Confirming her mixed race.
At that time she already had a son by a white man.
Their son hasn't any "black" features. So I don't know if he feels like he's apart of the black community?

Your society is now multicultural, though the degree to which this diversity is embraced varies, and its many manifestations have a significant political impact.
Everyone knows the US is a very multicultural, ethnically diverse nation, but what is less known is how this came to be. What are the histories of the major ethnic groups in the United States?
White or European Americans (including Hispanics) - 75.8%
Hispanic or Latin Americans - 18.9%
Black or African Americans - 13.6%
    Asian Americans - 6.1%
American Indians and Alaska Natives (Native Americans) - 1.3%
    Mixed/multi-ethnic Americans - 2.9%
More Americans specify as German than any other ethnicity.
"African-American", many black Americans cite ancestry from other places across the globe like South America and the Caribbean. However, many people do have African heritage, as many enslaved people were forcibly taken over to North America by European settlers. Many of these people came from West and Central Africa.

It's a classification for white Americans who have origins in Europe, Middle East, and North Africa.

I wouldn't classify the people from the Middle East or
      North Africa as being Caucasians.

@@briansmith48it’s still what they have to check in census and applications. Even though now we know MENA people have a different experience socially, the government still considers them caucasion/white

There were many people in our home state who were able to pass due to their complexion (being fair skin) and escaped during the Great Migration during Jim Crow. They could literally be any and everywhere now because it began before the emancipation.
